Prayers and Good Wishes

dsc01318Many of you have called in and talked with Susan here at Loopy Central (or traded emails with her). She was the first official Loopy Elf and we had been friends for years before that. Now she’s our Office Manager and she’s the one that I describe by saying, “I couldn’t do this business without her, and I wouldn’t want to.” She and the other elves keep the orders moving out quickly and efficiently. She will be going in for Breast Cancer surgery tomorrow and I knew that all of you would want to know. I asked her if I could share this on the blog and she said, “Well, the more prayers the better, right?” We’re all hoping for a quick recovery for her and the best news possible on all accounts.  I will keep you posted.  She has a great outlook and she’s not a worrier. (I told her I’d worry enough for both of us.) Thank you for being the kind, caring group that I know you are. I know you’ll keep her prayed up and loved through this, and so will all of us here at Loopy.

  2. Dear Susan,

  3. Dear Susan,

Add me to the many people who have you in mind and in prayers. As you go through this, be as good to yourself as you possibly can, and then be even better than that!

  4. Susan,

My very best wishes and prayers are with you. Keeping my fingers crossed too. Sounds like you have a wonderful attitude and that counts for an awful lot (I’m a former pediatric oncology nurse).

  5. Susan is in my thoughts and prayers. Having experienced a scare this past year, I know this is overwhelming but, it sounds like her spirit and determination will serve her well in the weeks ahead. All the best!

I think maybe Shari’s early Q2 “challenge” should be knitting chemo caps (we’ll have to come up with some patterns from fingering weight yarn) and we’ll all send them in and Susan can take first choice (whether she needs one for chemo treatment or not).

  7. Susan, I just spoke with you by phone yesterday. You’ve been so helpful with processing my orders. Best wishes for a full recovery. You’ll be in my thoughts tomorrow. We want you back at Loopy Ewe as good as new!!

  9. I remember how Susan was so excited to see me with all my Loopy paraphernalia on when we met in Estes Park this summer at Wool Fest.
Prayers and best wishes for her and HUGS galore.

  10. I remember how Susan was so excited to see me with all my Loopy paraphernalia on when we met in Estes Park this summer at Wool Fest.

Hugs and prayers for tomorrow and the months to come.

  11. Susan, my thoughts & prayers are with you! One year ago tomorrow (Feb 12th) I had my biopsy, pretty certain what the results would be. Here I am, a year later, having made it through surgery, chemo, and radiation, now with “just the rest of my life” ahead of me! It’s a tough road, but you can do it! One of the hardest things for me was learning not only to accept help & support, but to ask for it – but the help, love, and support was plentiful, as I’m sure it will be for you, too. Please feel free to e-mail me (or PM me on Ravelry: knitsnknishes) if you’d like.

  12. I was diagnosed with Stage III Colon Cancer in Sept 2007 at age 45. After two surgeries and six months of Chemo my doctors tell me I’ve had a miracle and am now cancer-free! Even though it’s difficult to get through you CAN do it. Prayers do work! God does miracles. So be prepared! All the best to you and your family.

  13. Many hugs and prayers coming your way, Susan, for a quick and complete recovery. Positive thoughts go out to Sheri and all the elves too – I know you will be on pins and needles tomorrow!

  14. Susan,
Hugs, prayers, positive thoughts are winging their way to you for a successful surgery and full recovery. My Mom is a 28-year survivor and I pray you too will have a long full life ahead of you.

  15. My best wishes too. We have friends dealing with this at the moment, including one who is only in her mid 30s. I don’t know if it helps to know this, but they’ve all been doing well, even though there are hard patches.

Don’t hesitate to ask for support and help if you need it.

    Speedy recovery and good luck.

  16. Susan, you will be in my thoughts. Sending you love and best wishes for a very quick recovery. We need you at Loopy!

  17. WOW! So many nice comments. You are all so wonderful. I truly love my job and all my loopy co-workers 🙂 Sheri told me she was going to mention me in the blog, but I didn’t want to read it until I was at home–now you all have me feeling a giant hug!
The Loopy Ewe has the best customers! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.
