Thank you!

dsc02383Thank you for all of your comments on Wednesday’s blog, wishing Susan well. The surgery went just fine and she’s resting comfortably at home. (Watching good movies, hanging out with her kids, and letting everyone wait on her, hopefully!) Knowing Susan, she’ll be back here with us at Loopy Central in no time. In the midst of all of the comments on that post, you might’ve caught the one that she wrote back to all of you. But just in case you didn’t, here it is:

  1. WOW! So many nice comments. You are all so wonderful. I truly love my job and all my loopy co-workers :) Sheri told me she was going to mention me in the blog, but I didn’t want to read it until I was at home–now you all have me feeling a giant hug!  The Loopy Ewe has the best customers! Thank you for your thoughts and prayers.

She told me about this conversation that she had, while she was in getting an MRI before surgery yesterday:

Nurse: “Oh, you have on nice warm socks!”
Susan: “Handknit socks.”   (Hariamrit – your socks kept Susan’s feet warm!)
Nurse: “Hand knit? Do people still knit???”
Susan:  “You have no idea….”

Thanks for giving Susan such a great big LOOPY HUG!

I hope you’re planning a nice weekend and doing something special for Valentine’s Day. (My favorite part about Valentine’s Day? It’s Knitting Daughter’s birthday – she will be 19 tomorrow! Of course this is also the first birthday where she’s not home with us to celebrate and I don’t like that part of it.)  I saw this video posted by one of my friends on Facebook and clicked over to take a look. I can’t believe the dollars that are spent on cards, flowers and chocolate every Valentine’s Day. I thought that it was a GREAT idea to forego a card and donate $5 to this wonderful organization instead, and wanted to pass it on in case you are interested. (I am not, however, suggesting that you forego the chocolate. I would never do that.)

Do you like the felted hearts on our Loopies in the photo? Elf Donna made them so that they could be totally prepared to celebrate the holiday in style. Of course the happiest Little Loopy is the one that gets to sit inside the heart pocket, holding on to his felted rose.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for sharing so much LOVE with all of us here this week. We appreciate every one of you!

  2. I’m so glad to hear that Susan is doing well and is at home resting!

Happy birthday to Knitting Daughter! She shares a birthday with my son, who will be seven tomorrow! Valentine’s Day is a good day to have a baby. 🙂

  3. Give Susan a big hug from me. I hope her recovery is speedy and complete. Healing thoughts sent her way.

I hope Julia has an awesome 19th birthday.

And I hope everyone has a Happy Valentine’s Day.

  4. happy birthday Julia.

I’m celebrating Singles Awareness Day instead of Valentine’s Day by going with a fiber friend, who weaves and knits a smidge, to shearing day at nearby sheep farm. (I will not buy fiber, I will not buy fiber, I will not buy fiber.) We may get rained out and, if so, then I’ll be knitting at home.

    Glad Susan’s surgery went well.

  5. So happy to hear Susan’s surgery went well! How could it not with all the positive Loopy energy being sent her way!

    Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Happy Birthday Knitting Daughter! My daughter Katie shares your birthday – she will be 14 tomorrow! She thinks the Elves send the Loopy Kisses just for her when I get a package – I never get any! You children just grow up too fast for us Moms.

  6. Yay for Susan! I’m so glad. I’ve been checking the blog frequently for any updates. And happy day to Knitting Daughter! Looks like much good news heading into the weekend.

  7. I can’t believe I missed the blog the other day. I’ve been pretty preoccupied knitting a pair of socks for a co-worker and friend who had a double mastectomy on Monday. She LOVES her Smooshy socks too. 🙂

Susan, it’s great to hear surgery went well and you’re letting everyone wait on you. Rest and relax while you can, before long we’ll be putting you back to work on another Wollmeise sneakup. haha Sending prayers and positive energy to you.

  8. Thank you for the update on Susan. I’m glad to know the surgery went well and she is doing well and resting at home.

To dear sweet Julia, I wish you the Happiest Birthday ever. Wow 19, I bet Mom can’t get over that. How fast the years go. 20. Good to hear Susan is doing well and is resting at home. As for the weekend…eh. 🙂 My husband and I are going to talk to our accountant tomorrow for taxes! Yay! We try not to put a lot of emphasis on Valentine’s Day and try to make time for each other at least once a week.

I’d also like to thank you for your good wishes about my college algebra test. I scored a 94%.

Have a great weekend with your family over the birthday/holiday. 🙂

  21. I’m so glad Susan is home and recovering. I’m also really glad Susan had handknit socks for the MRI. (Keep this in mind everyone. MRIs can get chilly. Even in the hot days of summer, wear good socks!)

KD, Happy Birthday! And Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone at Loopy Central!

  22. I am so glad to hear that Susan’s surgery went well and that she is home. I will continue to pray for her.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KD!!!!!!!!!! 19th!!!!!!! Have a wonderful time.

  24. Wow Sheri, you are so lucky to have had a child born on Valentine’s Day!! Mine just couldn’t do that for me and came on the 15th instead! So, it’s the 20th Birthday celebration here. Where did the time go? Seems like only yesterday he was going to Kindergarten.

  25. “You have no idea.”

That made me laugh out loud! Did Susan tell her about the Loopy Groupies, Wollmeise fanatics and other yarn lovers out there?

I’m glad to hear the surgery went well!

  26. I missed the last post so best wishes to Susan on this post. Happy birthday to your daughter. What a lovely Valentine’s Day that must have been for you, Sheri.

  27. More prayers for Susan in her recovery. Just had a chance to see your posts about it.

Happy Birthday to Knitting Daughter! I hope your day is GREAT!

  28. Get well wishes to Susan for a speedy recovery. We need you back at Loopy Central!

    Happy Birthday to Knitting Daughter!

Happy Valentine’s Day! Gook luck with the empty nest on Knitting Daughter’s b-day.

  29. Thank you for not forgoing the chocolate! I’ve been working at a chocolate shop for the last few days and this is really the biggest candy holiday (even more than Halloween, because people are more willing to buy better candy for Valentine’s day) and can make or break a shop.

I’m glad to hear the Susan is getting better. Surgery always stinks!

  30. Happy Birthday to Knitting Daughter!! You knew the day would come when you’d have to celebrate with her away from home. Try to be strong!!!

So glad that Susan’s surgery went well… I will continue to keep her in my prayers as she recovers.

LOVED the video.. I donated in honor of all of my kiddos!!!

  31. It’s great to hear that Susan’s doing well. I’m sure the urge to get back amongst the beautiful yarn and fiber will help get her back on her feet in no time. Hope everyone had a great V-day.
