Big Thanks and Big News!

Kristine and Bob Bennett

Hi Loopy Friends!

First a very big thank you for your response to our Retirement Sale and all of your kind messages, emails and phone calls. I so appreciate you and your well wishes on my retirement from the yarn business!

Now – onto what comes next:

Big News!

I am SO happy to finally be able to tell you that long time Loopy Elf Kristine and her husband Bob (above) have bought The Loopy Ewe, so Loopy lives on! Kristine is an amazing knitter with a passion for beautiful yarn – the perfect person to take over the reins here at Loopy.

Watch for a re-opening around May 1st (new stock already rolling in). They have a fun new rewards program for you, plans for retreats, and other exciting things coming along, which I know you will love. It makes me happy to know that the shop will soon be filled with yarn again, with Kristine at the helm!

A few more details:

You will find many of your favorite yarn lines back soon, as well as some cool new additions that Kristine is adding in.

To keep updated on things as they progress, be sure to follow Loopy on Instagram and Facebook, where Kristine will start posting in the next couple of weeks. And watch for her Loopy email newsletter closer to May 1st about the re-opening.

The online shop is empty for now, but we still have some things we’re selling in-store. The in-store shop will then close March 31 and re-open April 30 under the new ownership.

I will be here running ColoradoCrossStitcher in the back corner at Loopy at least through the end of the summer, before finding a new place to land with that business. Pop back and say hi when you come in!

Again, we could not be happier to see Loopy staying in Fort Collins and in the online community, knowing that he is in good hands for the years to come. We hope this is good news for you, too!

Casapinka Noncho Kits for You

Bronwyn (Casapinka) has done it again – another fun pattern for celebrating Local Yarn Shop Day (but this year, celebrating National Bubble Tea Day!) The Noncho is a fun, cozy knit to wear out on cooler spring days, to pull on in the evenings when you’re feeling a bit chilly, or to cozy up in bed when you’re reading and your shoulders are cold! We have some beautiful Casapinka Noncho Kits ready for you, because you know how we love to play with color combinations around here.

This pattern is free with the purchase of yarn to make it from your local (or online local) yarn shop. The offer is good on yarn purchased today, April 28th, through Saturday evening, May 1, 2021. We will process your order and then will email you a coupon code to get the pattern free on Ravelry.

CaMaRose and Malabrigo Rasta

Happy Monday! Is it Spring where you are? Are you seeing flowers blooming? Because here, we’re getting 6-12 inches of snow tonight. Dear Colorado.

Anyway, we have a new yarn company with two new bases for you today, as well as re-stocks (including, finally, more Rasta!). We just added in:

CaMaRose Yaku 4/16 – This new-to-us yarn comes from Denmark, and we are delighted to add it in here at the shop. Yaku is a 100% Superwash Merino fingering weight, with a soft hand and sturdy ply, giving you wonderful stitch definition.

CaMaRose Pimabomuld 2/8 – You all have been asking for a fingering weight cotton for a long time, and we were delighted to find this one. These balls come with 219 yards per skein in a 100% Pima Cotton base. Try it for summer tanks and sweaters, baby blankets and sweaters, soft washcloths, and anything for people who stay away from wool.

Walcot Opus – this sport weight yarn is 70% Falkland Merino (a big rustic) and 30% Baby Alpaca (which adds a perfect touch of tempering).

Stonehedge Fiber Mill Shepherd’s Wool Worsted – We love this yarn, spun and dyed in Michigan. 100% wool (not superwash), and wonderful for sweaters and winter accessories.

Malabrigo Rasta – Super Bulky, fun for hats and cowls, mitts and scarves, in so many of Malabrigo’s unique and beautiful colors!

New Website Coming Soon!

In case you’re not on our regular Loopy Monthly Email List, I wanted to let you know that we are getting a new website (SOON!) and we are simplifying our Loopy Rewards program. You’ll still be earning points for purchases (and now, for referrals and birthdays), as well as any of our challenges that you participate in. Those can be traded in for Loopy credits (cash towards future purchases). If you have current credit in your account, those will be transferred over to the new site. We are ending the Loopy Reward Store, so if you have points and have had your eye on something in the Reward Store, please purchase those by Thursday morning, April 22 so we can get that out to you. All unused Reward Store points will convert to Loopy credit on the new site. We sent this info out last week to the Monthly List.

Have a great week!
