What are you and Loopy up to during this month of Winter Break from Loopy Academy? We noticed our Little Loopy doing some selfies today and thought we’d share them with you.
He picked out new yarn for a project.
He checked out the stock room and contemplated opening up the new deliveries.
He went to the library “to study”, but I can see that he’s looking at novels, not instructional books.
And he broke his dieting resolution, by stopping by Mary’s Mountain Cookies on the way back from the library.
All in all, no resolution-keeping and no studying going on around him this month. He needs Loopy Academy’s Second Semester to start up soon and keep him a bit more occupied.
What are you and your Loopy up to this month? Leave a comment or email us a photo (support@theloopyewe.com) and we’ll use the random generator to pick a winner next week. What do you win? A $50 Loopy Gift Certificate, which you can use now, or spend on Loopy Academy projects in a couple of weeks, or save for a rainy day!
Sheri and Mischievous Loopy
P.S. The final winner from our second Random Acts of Kindness blog post in December is Jan in VA who wins one of our Blue Sky Alpacas kits! (Let us know which one you’d like, Jan!)

Well, I am still trying to get through a viral thing that has hung on far too long! I am also trying to work on some hats leftover from the holidays.
We were good today and we went to our guitar lesson and did the weekly shopping, and now we are playing Words with Friends. Tonight we will be knitting socks!
Loopy and I are celebrating because the kids are finally asleep for the night, and we’re planning to KNIT!
Loopy & I are browsing all the beautiful new yarns, looking at patterns on Ravelry, and waiting for a conference call to start… I’m happy I can knit while I listen to the call… Shhh! Don’t tell anyone! 🙂
Loopy would be helping me catch up so that I could finish the socks and scarf that are in progress. 🙂
Little Loopy and I are working on a sundress for GGD’s birthday next month. Started last week and he is cracking the whip for me to get done before second semester begins. He also made “made” me cast on 2 other projects last week. Little Loopy is in time out now.
You know, you’re not the first person who said that Loopy had made them cast on too many projects this month. Myself included!
Loopy & I are fantasizing about knitting in meetings while being absolutely buried at work.

Loopy is currently winding all of the Shalimar DK skeins in Byzantium for me while also assisting in deciding which Baby Cocktails sweater to knit with all of its luxurious beauty.
So far I have finished a boo knits wintersweet and now I am spinning up some fiber along with working on a quilt.
Loopy is watching me work on an afghan that will take me 10,000 years to finish.
Put him to work. That’s 5000 years each. Much more manageable. 🙂
Loopy and I just finished a barley hat and now we have to block it and the Pipers journey we finished on Monday!
We’re working on an angora cardigan for the wedding of the daughter of a coworker. Should be finished just in time to start the semester!
Me and my loopy are trying to finish some WIPs. Like my first term projects. And to make a hat with a huge pom pom!
Loopy and I sorted through my stash today hunting down UFO’s and special yarns that are demanding to be knitted NOW!
Still working on my Mini Mania shawl…
Oh, what a NICE surprise! I’d love the Catherine Cowl in 1708 Seaglass.
Thank you SOOOOO Much! You are great!
Loopy and I are getting back into the routine, being good about staying on top of laundry mountain, and working on getting our knitting mojo back with a nice scarf we will share.
i’m trying to decide what the next big project should be and working on a little polar bear kit for the baby in the interim.
Loopy and I went to knit-together with our friends, since it is Wednesday, and that is knit-together day. Now, we are trolling the web, looking for fun and exciting news about new yarn.
Working on some old WIP’s so I can justify starting some new projects. Vicious cycle…
watching the sheep to shawl competition at the PA Farm Show!
I’m completing the plans and materials orders for a bathroom remodel. Who knew it’d be such a lot of work (and money) for such a small space!
As a grad student and lecturer, my break is over and I’m doing (and assigning) schoolwork. On the yarn front, I’m attacking my WIPs and impatiently waiting for Loopy Academy prompts to come out!
Working on some designs, singing, and cleaning up the Christmas stuff. Oh, and starting on clearing out the last of that stuff that I have yet to unpack since I moved…. Yeah, I’m not going anywhere, so what’s the hurry? 😀
We are back at work after surgery and a breif trip to frozen colorado for Christmas.Catching up on WIPS.
This month has so far been about getting some WIPs for me off the needles as well as a couple last Christmas gifts. I’m hoping to cast on one new project before the month is over, but I’m mostly trying to focus on projects to stay warm!
Loopy and I are overwhelmed by UFO’s. We are tempted to start something new, but… feel the need to stick with a New Year’s resolution to finish started projects.
1/3-1/10/2015…I went on a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on Celebrity Reflections out of Miami. We went to San Juan, PR, St Thomas and St Maarten ( Dutch side where we docked & shopped til we dropped in St Martin-the French side). Yes, I shopped til I dropped on the ship and the ports of call as well as worked out in the Fitness Center and danced all night, every night, Midship!
I should tell you my little loopy stayed home and house sat! He was happy to as the house was peaceful with no house remodeling or dogs running around!
My loopy is waiting in my shopping cart for loopy academy to start so he can come to Australia as an exchange student where hopefully together we will achieve lots of new skills in semester 2, by the time he gets here school holidays will be over downunder and he will have to get back to studying, but he will have lots of company :0)
Finishing up a doily for a wedding gift, working up the will to start the sleeves of my cabled cardigan, but also starting a cowl with my Mrs. C yarn I got for completing Camp Loopy. And on occasion I create another hexipuff to add to my future blanket…
Knitting, of course!
We’re trying to stay sane with all of the school closings and delays we’ve been having in Indiana!
I am waiting patiently (not really) to hear about the semester 2 projects, and I am Still looking for the semester 1 missing mittens that had to be reknit. Super excited for next semester. Thanks!
I’m enjoying a trip to visit my parent’s and a second Christmas. It has been a perfect do-over since I had the flu on Christmas.
I’m finishing off a sock before next semester starts 🙂
Loopy went with me to our knitting luncheon. Then to knitting group. He had to stay in the knitting bag though cause too many want him to come home for a visit
Getting ready for my son’s wedding in April…picked out my dress…helped mail out save-the-date cards with my future daughter-in-law…working on finishing a wedding quilt in time for the bridal shower…and that’s just the beginning!
After starting in October, Loopy and I are going to finish knitting our first pair of socks.
Loopy and I are packing for Key West. First thing packed . . . Knitting projects.
I’m working on knittng down my stash, slowly but surely.
Using some of my fling yarn to knit up a blanket for a baby girl due in March 🙂
Congratulations, Laura!!
Loopy and I have been busy planning projects to start and matching patterns to the yarn stash (and/or, ahem, making a list of more yarns to purchase)
This month I am trying to find a new job! I was laid off a while ago and really need to find something NOW! I’m also knitting, of course, and am trying to figure out if there is something I can knit that would be likely to sell well enough to make decent money from it.
It has been another cold, fractured day of working on several different projects in various stages of completion. Finished the 2nd sleeve on infant grandson’s Gift Wrap Sweater, but it’s too late tonight to start picking up stitches for the button & buttonhole band. Worked a bit on the Baby Surprise Jacket for another baby granddaughter or grandson, due this summer. Started binding off a shawl that will be given to a daughter’s friend as a thank you to her for going “above and beyond”. Began a lacy cowl for another daughter’s birthday gift, which MUST be finished in a week or so. Impossible to completely finish one project before another must be started. Sheesh! Life can never be boring!
I’m trying to knit through all the giftables and yarn kits I buy but haven’t knitted…YET. Of course, I’m always knitting a replacement cowl and/or hats for those that disappear with the kiddos at school.
Here at my house Loopy is eating Godiva Truffles that we got for Christmas!
Can I come visit?
we have been cuddling the newest family member, my second baby Andrew. Loopy is being a good sport an not getting jealous.
Congratulations on sweet Andrew, Arlin!
Loopy and I are trying to finish all the WIPS before the second semester of Loopy Academy begins but we can’t seem to stop casting on!
Loopy would help me finish all the ufo’s that I began and should have finished in 2014!
