Do You Need to Get Away? (CONTEST!)

heartfeltBecause it’s February (the month of love – and you know we love you!) and in honor of our first Colorado Loopy Ewe Spring Fling coming up, we thought it would be fun to give away a spot at our Spring Fling for a contest this month. Not only that, but if you win, you get to pick a friend to bring along with you. We saved a spot for them, too! You cover the cost of getting yourself to the hotel (by plane, train or automobile), and we’ll provide you both with the Fling weekend package for free. (Pop on over to this blog post to see what is included in the Fling weekend package.) If you have already signed up for a spot at the Fling, you’re still eligible to enter the contest and get your Fling package for free for you and a friend. We don’t want to leave you out. The Spring Fling dates are April 18-21, Thursday evening through Sunday morning.

So do you need a weekend away with your best buddy? Would you like to hang out with a bunch of great knitters, visit Loopy Central, take a class, get a goodie bag and relax all weekend? If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment below and tell us you’d like to attend and who you want to bring along with you. We’ll use the random number generator to pick someone next week and will report back with a winner. It’s going to be a great weekend!

  1. Yes I would love to attend! I love knitting retreats. My best friend moved away to Austin a few years ago and now we rarely get to see each other. I would bring her along – we would have the BEST time. Yes she is a knitter!

  2. Am I too late? Hope not. I would probably disappoint some friends if I won, but my first choice would be my friend Kay. She’s been struggling to get out of the house since foot surgery, months ago. She would jump at the chance to attend Spring Fling, and we would spend all of those days laughing! Fingers and needles crossed!

  3. I would be elated if I was to win this offer. It would be simply fantastic to call my best friend, who I fondly call my “sister from another mother” and say, pack your bags because we’re going to The Loopy Ewe Knitter’ s Retreat, April 18-21 in Colorado. Don’t forget to bring a empty suitcase for all the knitting “goodies” we will most certainly bring back! All we have to do is pay our travelling expenses. But, I have two free airline tickets, so all we’ll need is our money for our knitting goodies and we’re there! Thank you for your generosity, Loopy Ewe.

  4. I would love the opportunity to attend the Spring Fling! I would bring my daughter (who never wanted to learn to knit, but now knits better than me, lol) with me. Thanks for this awesome contest!

  5. I would love a chance to attend the Spring Fling! I would possibly take my Tuesday Knit Night friend Lu Ann or maybe one of the lovely ladies from my lys Wild Purls. I might be able to sneak in a little visit with my family in Fort Collins, too. Loopy Ewe is like the Super Sized shopping mall of yarn shops!

  6. WoW! What a wonderful opportunity – I’d love to attend. This list is getting long (no surprise!) but one can dream…

  7. A getaway would be awesome, especially one that involves yarn and knitting! I would bring my knitting friend, Carrie F. 🙂

  8. I’d love to come to fling! I’ve never been to any knitting retreat or conference. I would bring my friend Amanda, if she could make it, or my sister Constance if Amanda couldn’t.

  9. I would love an opportunity to go. I spend all day at work dreaming about knitting and why not spend my free time doing it in the most intense way possible! I would love to bring my friend who also knits who I haven’t gotten to spend a lot of time with lately due to conflicting schedules. I think setting aside time specifically on an activity we both enjoy would be perfect.

  10. WOW! I would LOVE to go. I already have a friend going (Ruby Cruze) and if I won, I would bring Darlene York…..I taught her to knit a year and half ago and we are two crazy knitters that are tons of fun! We would love to join you!

  11. I’d love to come! And bring one of my ravelry knitting friends with me.
Thanks for the contest, it’s fun to think about!

  12. Now that you are closer to me I WANT to come. I would bring my sister, Missy. She and I have gone to the knitting and crocheting convention together and we had a wonderful time. I think we’d have fun with you too.

  13. OH MY GOSH!!!! I would LOVE to go.My friend Ruby Cruze is going! I won, I would bring Carrie Rameriz…..Carrie taught me to knit a year ago, we would have a blast!!

We would love to join you! PLEASE PLEASE PICK ME!!!

    Darlene York

  14. I would love a weekend away, I would bring my Daughter-in law we often get together and knit or spin. She loves fiber as much as I do. It would be great for her because she could really use the break.

  15. I would LOVE this! I have always wanted to attend a Spring Fling. It would be heaven! My best bud and I would love to attend!

  16. Oh, boy-could I use a weekend away! I would bring my sister..she makes me laugh and she had some personal bad news lately, and needs a break!

  17. This sounds great! I’ve never been to any kind of major knitting event, and this would be so much fun. The hard part would be choosing who went with me!

  18. Wow. i don’t know how I missed the sign-ups in the first place! I have a friend in Colorado whom I know would love to go with me that I haven’t seen in several years. What a nice treat. Best of luck to all who enter.

  19. I’ve been a knitter as long as I can remember. Since retiring a couple of years ago, I’m just finding out about knitting events and groups. I did not even know something so wonderful existed. I’ve never been to an event and would love to go. Not sure how I would take with me as of yet but I’m sure I could find someone.

  20. If my name is drawn out of the almost 700 comments, I would bring my friend Knittymuggins. We live half a continent away from each other and got to know each other through our blogs.

  21. Thank you for the opportunity to win a trip to your fabulous event! Knowing many knitters and loving them all, I’d do a drawing of their names. The winning name will be coming to CO with me!

  22. A weekend away with one of my knit sistahs would be magical!!! I would take my Mom!! I would so love to meet some of the fabulous people that will be there!! How exciting!!!

  23. I would love to drive with my San Antonio yarn dying buddy! We could charm all y’all with our Texas accents (but really, y’all are the ones that talk funny:)

  24. All these other commenters – all their plans! I have to say I have been too busy being wowwed by the prospect of seeing JC Briar and Ann Budd. I am not terribly familiar with the other instructors listed – but figure they must be pretty great to share billing with the former. Pick me! Pick me! Pick me! Thanks! Laurie

  25. I would love to attend with my BFF Mandi… she taught me to knit 3 years ago this spring and knitting has kept us close since I’ve moved 4 hours away. We have knit along mittens, shawls and socks. Spending the weekend with my best friend would be a treat and to do it in a place with other knitter and fabulous fiber instructors would be the best of all!

  26. it would be so fun to go to this! I would bring my good friend Kim. She isn’t a knitter but wants to learn 🙂 I would teach her how to make a color affection shawl. It would be a great beginner product, lots of garter and nothing too hard until later on in the project with a few easy short rows!

  27. Forgot to include that I’d bring my friend Annie from here in Montana or my other knitting friend Kelsey from Oregon.

  28. I would love a knitting weekend away and would either bring my friend Anna or Margaret, both of whom I met at a yarn harlot talk in 2007!

  29. A few years ago I had to miss Fling because I was stuck in London because of the Icelandic volcano. I would LOVE to win this contest and join in on the fun this year!

  30. Now that I no longer have to worry about time off from work, I desperately wish that I could be there to hang out with my roommate from last time. We had such a great time together!

  31. OF COURSE I’d like to attend! The real stumper is, with whom?
If I could have my choice, I’d say… my friend Melinda. She’s a college buddy that I have kept in contact through her marriage and four kids. I sure hope she’d be available if I win!

  32. I would love to join you all for Spring Fling! It sounds fun. I would bring my friend and knitting mentor, Colleen, who has encouraged and inspired me to try new techniques and projects.
