Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I hope you’re feeling loved by all of the special people in your life today. My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is that it’s Knitting Daughter’s Birthday. 🙂 And here’s one of my favorite photos of her when she was about three. Now she’s all grown up and enjoying life at college. I don’t know where the time went between then and now. I’m pretty sure that it was just a few weeks ago that she was sitting on the kitchen counter and I snapped this photo. WH and I zipped over to Indiana to surprise her over the weekend. Not for the whole weekend. You can’t surprise a college student for the entire weekend and expect that they don’t already have plans!  So we went late Saturday night and claimed Sunday morning (church) and Sunday lunch with her. It was a lot of fun and makes it a smidgeon easier to be this far away from her on her actual birthday, today. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIA!!)

I love how my husband makes me feel special and loved. He does a very good job every day but on Valentines Day , he does it w/ flowers and a card.

My fav thing about today is spending some extra quiet time with my hubby and 5 month old. (the chocolate’s not bad either…)
My favorite part of Valentine Days is that my husband and I take the day off to just goof around and be sweet to each other. I also email, text, send email cards and phone calls to all family members and friends who I love and cherish. We get so busy with our lives and this is the perfect day to remember to tell everyone that I love you!

On Valentines Day I get extra sweet, but goofy compliments from my husband. For instance, today he told me he loved me more than chocolate covered bacon! Yum!!
My favorite thing about today is that my Valentine is here. He’s been here for almost 25 years! I made him dinner, because that’s my number one way of telling him how much he’s appreciated.

Valentines day isn’t a celebration that has a long tradition here, but any excuse for chocolate works for me! Also, it’s the day after my birthday, so I can sort of just let the two occasions blend into two days of soaking up the happy greetings that come my way.
My favorite thing is the fact that my family is healthy and happy.
My favorite part of February 14th are the sentimental messages in cards and little books about love. They make me cry every time (happy tears)!
I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day, but it reminds me how much I love my husband bec he doesn’t want to celebrate it either!

My BFF died on Sunday after a long fight with cancer. I’m glad she’s at peace.but I am already missing her terribly. It’s nice to read about happier times and many celebrations of love happen to other people.

I love watching all the quys in Walmart, etc. going through the cards and flowers looking for the special gift late in the afternoon on Valentine’s Day, especially when everything is so picked over,lol.
Along with being Valentine’s Day, it is my boyfriend’s birthday!
I’m not the greatest fan of Valentine’s Day in general, but Himself and I have managed to field it pretty well in the last few years. This year we went out for sushi (yum!) then came home and he helped me dye my hair. That’s a true gesture of love if I ever saw one!
The best thing is all the food! It means eating delicious chocolate offerings at work, something deliciously homecooked by my sweetie, researching new dessert recipes to try. (Yes, chocolate is a food group.) Yum.
My favorite thing is that DH and I decided long ago to punt Valentine’s Day.
My birthday is 2/7 and his is 3/7, plus his entire immediate family, including his brother’s wife, has their birthdays between 2/5 and 3/7.

Valentine’s Day for me is bittersweet. I lost my husband 2 1/2 years ago so it’s a little different. In not having him to surprise me, I get to surprise myself and that’s okay. I also like watching other female friends get flowers and candy from their sweeties. It all makes me smile and remember the good times.

My favorite thing about yesterday was my husband surprising me every two hours with something else–a mocha, tulips, Thai food, truffles, and wine. The sneak had a furlough day and used it to make me laugh all day long.

Usually DH just dumps some grocery store flowers on me- but YESTERDAY the Fed Ex guy showed up with a box from Proflowers! Wow- a small bouquet of the most exquisite roses and they smell wonderful! That was definitely my favorite thing!

My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is that it is also my man’s birthday. It makes it double special. I get to celebrate his birthday and give him gifts while at the same time he is trying to be sweet and romantic and giving me gifts. It is definitely a win-win day for all of us. The kids love celebrating both the holiday and the birthday as well.
I love getting small presents for my children and DH. I also really like giving out Valentine’s cards!

So many things to like about Valentines Day…first, any day that involves chocolate is a GOOD day…also, red is my favorite color and being surrounded by it raises my spirits in the doldrums of winter…and my husband always brings me flowers(and I love getting flowers)…but you don’t need a special day to tell the people around you that you love them, any day and every day is a good day for that!!!!!
Valentine’s Day usually means it it time to tap maple trees. And out birthday run is almost over, only 2 to go…
Getting that extra dose of love from the man who shows me daily how much he loves me! I try to discourage the gifting, but he perseveres!
