Happy Valentine’s Day to you all! I hope you’re feeling loved by all of the special people in your life today. My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is that it’s Knitting Daughter’s Birthday. π And here’s one of my favorite photos of her when she was about three. Now she’s all grown up and enjoying life at college. I don’t know where the time went between then and now. I’m pretty sure that it was just a few weeks ago that she was sitting on the kitchen counter and I snapped this photo. WH and I zipped over to Indiana to surprise her over the weekend. Not for the whole weekend. You can’t surprise a college student for the entire weekend and expect that they don’t already have plans! Β So we went late Saturday night and claimed Sunday morning (church) and Sunday lunch with her. It was a lot of fun and makes it a smidgeon easier to be this far away from her on her actual birthday, today. (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JULIA!!)
So that’s my favorite thing about today. What’s your favorite thing about today? Leave your message in the comments below and we’ll run the random number generator on Friday, to see who wins some beautiful red yarn. See all of those skeins in the photo? We’re pulling prizes from there. We made that to put up on the webcam for you today, hoping you feel the Loopy love!

P.S. We do have an Update going up later today. Watch for new multi-colors of Universal’s Cotton Supreme, Namaste bags, Soak, Sajou Scissors, and misc. knitting gadgets!
My favorite thing is hugs from my daughter, and that she shared some Valentine’s candy with me.
I loved the cookies decorated by the children at church tonight – lots of sprinkles, hearts and much love went into them! Also, the strawberries, naturally heart-shaped and so juicy, sweet and red!
My favorite thing about today is the same thing every single day, my fabulous dachshunds, Sparky and Daisy, love them!
Simply put, this day makes me happy. It always has and I hope always will.
Chocolate! Pure and simple.
Using is as an excuse to catch up with friends.
watching my daughter organize all of her cards for her preschool Valentine’s party
It’s fun to pick out just the right cards and little gifts to share my love with my family and friends. Fun to receive cards and little gifts, too! (Got pink roses and a little chocolate cake with “Be Mine” on it from my husband. So nice!)
Playing board games with the 4 year old grandson tonight!
My favorite thing about today is that people seem to greet each other more nicely … perhaps a combination of Valentine’s Day and a break in the harsh winter weather. Happy Valentine’s Day Sheri!
WHEE! What a fun giveaway! thank you! I love that I got to spend today with my kids. β₯
Valentines memories are woven throughtout my life. Remember decorating the shoebox Valentine boxes for school-waiting to open them and count your Valentines. My brothers and sister and I would pool our money together and walk to the corner drugstore to buy the biggest , prettiest heart shaped box of chocolates for Mom. Plus there’s lots of red on Valentines day-my favorite color!
Everyday is Valentine’s Day for me and my husband but today is when we get to be more outspoken about it. I love all the red roses coming out in shops, red heart toys, even red teddy bears!
It gives me an excuse to wear red and/or pink, eat Kisses, have a nice dinner with my husband and son, and it’s also my nephew’s birthday!
A single red rose and a sweet card from my guy! π
My five-year-old spontaneously told me “Mom, Happy Valentine’s Day. I love you!” I love that my thoughtful little boy can be so kind and sweet!
My favorite thing about Valentines day is being reminded of how many people I love and how many people love me, and I’m so grateful that they’re in my life π
My parents married on Valentine’s Day in 1956. They stayed married until Dad passed away this last September. My husband and I decided we would marry one week after the 14th so we could have a whole week of caring for one another-so from the 14th to the 21st we try to be even kinder to each other.
My husband makes every day Valentine’s with his love and tolerance of this crazy household (and all the yarn and all the chickens!). But today we make sure we tell each other.
My favorite thing about Valentine’s day is the opportunity to get really cheap chocolate on the 15th!!!
The best thing about today is this comment And that has nothing to do with the holiday:
Alexis said, “That my husband isnβt deployed for it!! We get to have dinner together! Yay!”
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is chocolate!
My favorite part of the day is when my kids & grandkids call to wish me a Happy Valentine’s Day. It’s nice to know they are thinking of me!
My favorite thing is the sweet card my husband always picks out for me. Sometimes its funny, sometimes serious. This year he got me chocolate covered popcorn to go with it!! I must be really special!!
My favorite thing about today is that it was 50 degrees, and there’s now only 8″ of snow left on the ground! Can hardly wait for spring!
My favorite things about Valentine’s Day are wine and chocolate.
My favorite thing about today is that I found the best present for my husband – he loves cheesy zombie movies, and I found brain shaped candy molds. I made white chocolate (tinted pink) peanute butter cups, and he loved them!! Mmmm… brains!
My husband and I got engaged a year ago yesterday, and married 6 months ago today, so Valentine’s day actually has some significance for me now π
Um, chocolate!
My favorite thing about today is how my husband always finds the perfect card – and this year was no exception π
Hello, other knitting Pamelas! My favorite thing about most holidays is that my family is so lax about celebrating them, which completely removes the stress.
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is celebrating the one’s who I love especially my boyfriend of nearly two years!
I was flat out sick in bed today and my wonderful husband looked after me totally – best guy ever
My favorite thing about today was spending time with people I love.
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is making homemade cards and small sweets with family.
Chocolate, roses, and candy hearts – what’s not to love! (not to mention that red is my favor color, too)
That it is the 40th one I have spent with my own WH!
My favorite thing about today is sending Valentine’s cards to all my friends and family. I love giving my children and grandchildren special little fun gifts to make them smile.
getting flowers at work.
Spending time helping my 3 year old make Valentines for her friends!
Valentine’s Day equals lots of dark chocolate! It can’t get any better than that!
Favorite thing about Valentine’s day has changed through the years. Right now it is that our son-in-law’s birthday is Valentine’s day. DD and I have a mighty search each year trying to find a perfect “Happy Birthday on Valentine’s Day” card. He’s a great guy!
So: Happy Birthday, Patrick. I just KNOW you didn’t get another greeting just like this. π
What could be better than red yarn and chocolate candy all in one day
My favorite thing about Valentine’s Day is that, having been married for over 17 years, there is no pressure on either of us to buy just the “right” gift – we normally don’t do anything special – we love each other 365 days every year!
My favorite thing today is that I remembered to send flowers to my mother (and I have to say I got 2 sets of flowers and that was pretty nice too.)
Now if I just had some of that red yarn–Mom’s favorite color!
My favorite thing about today is that I picked up both my adopted sons on Valentine’s Day many years ago. It is a great anniversary for me.
Favorite thing about today is the home made card I received from my daughter-in-law. My grandson texted me from college and my husband and I had dinner out . Knitted with a friend and shared heartshaped cookies and my Son’s calling me.
LOVE my Family
My favorite thing about THIS Valentine’s Day is that my husband stayed home all day with me! Much nicer than a dozen red roses! 42 years!
My favorite thing about today is having my husband home for the holiday! He’s battling illness and was hospitalized the entire holiday season.
The best thing about this year’s Valentine’s Day is that it’s when my kids finally went back to school after being out the last two weeks for snow!
I lurve how excited my kids get about valentines day!
My favorite thing about this Valentine’s Day is having reached the point long ago that my husband and I can both say ‘I was going to make a card for you but didn’t’ and be fine with it. We went to happy hour at our favorite gourmet pizza place at 3, where it was half full instead of a wait, then got sweets and bread at their bakery to go with soup and salad dinner later. We followed up with a 5:30 show of The King’s Speech where there were about a dozen other people, all couples.
On the walk home through downtown we chatted about everyday stuff and looked in the windows of crowded restaurants at lots of couples tring to have intimate and meaningful conversations. Now I’m in front of a fire with a cat on my lap and a cup of tea thinking this was my kind of Valentine.
