Lorna’s Laces, Addi Sock Rockets, GoKnit Bags and More!

Bamboo-Pop-cotton-yarn-bamboo yarnWe have plenty of fun new things for you to try in tonight’s Monday Update! We just added in:

Addi Sock Rockets – these needles were developed just for sock knitters. They come with extra pointy tips that are plated with the same shiny nickel that gives the classic Add Turbo its incomparable zip! Available in three different circular needle lengths – 24″, 32″ and 40″ and sizes 0 (2.0 mm) – 3 (3.25 mm).

Bamboo Pop – a new sportweight line that is 50% bamboo and 50% cotton, perfect for summer/lightweight knits, kid knits, and knits for people who are allergic to wool. Each skein comes 292 yards to the ball. Do you need some pattern ideas? Try the Sarah Top, Spring Break Trapeze Tank, Cotton Bam Boo Kudzu Shawlette, Looped Loop, or Uhura.

Lorna’s Laces – we have the new summer colors in several of the different bases, as well as re-stocks in Shepherd Sock and Pearl, and new colors in Haymarket.

Soak-gift-knitting-grape-gatsbySoak – a new kit from Soak! This one comes with an exclusively dyed skein of sock yarn from Lorna’s Laces, a great sock pattern designed by Fiona Ellis, a bottle of nail polish for your toes, a tub of Heel Creme in the Peppermint scent, and a small bottle of Soak for washing your handknits. The Grape kit is now available, and they have two more planned in the coming weeks (which we also have on order.)

Knowknits – a re-stock of the popular GoKnit project bags in all sizes and colors. The small size is perfect for socks and hats on the go. The medium size works well for shawls, stoles, scarves, and kids projects. The large size is for sweaters, blankets and afghans, or multiple projects. The drawstring close on the top insures that everything stays tucked inside, safe and sound!

Malabrigo – re-stocks on the Sock fingering weight base. We love the colors, and they are great for socks, but also very popular for one-skein shawls. You might try: Damson, Abyssal, Light and Up, Falling Water Scarf, or Scylla Socks.

Saki-Bamboo-yarn-self-stripingSaki Bamboo – a self-striping fingering weight yarn that is made up of 50% Superwash Merino, 25% Bamboo, and 25% Nylon. The colors are fun, the bamboo gives the yarn a slight bit of sheen or liveliness, and the nylon adds extra strength for socks. You’ll have fun knitting this up!

Knitter’s Pride – all needles re-stocked for you!

Rowan Fine Art Collection – a wonderful pattern book full of 14 sock and accessory designs using Rowan’s new Fine Art fingering weight yarn.

Enjoy checking out the new things tonight, and we’ll get your orders pulled and packed up tomorrow. You know we love seeing what you pick out.

Loopy Ewe Seasoning Series, Loopy Cakes, JulieSpins and More!

Happy Monday to you, the first full week in December. Are you done with your holiday knitting yet? Is it time to treat yourself to something fun? We have some great options that went up in tonight’s Monday Update!

The Loopy Ewe Seasonings Series – We gave you a taste of this with our August Anniversary Kit, and now the whole line of color is ready. Each set comes with a 430 yard skein of the main color and a coordinating solid mini skein (approx. 100 yards). We call the mini skein the “seasoning”, because everything is better with a little seasoning, right? This line is perfect for socks with coordinating heels and toes, shawls with a coordinating edge (like Breath of Fresh Air, or pretty much any shawl where you want to pop the edging a bit), hats/gloves/cowls with coordinating edging, etc. We have 27 color combos for you to choose from, and will be adding more colors as we move forward with the line. We’re happy to have the talented people from Lorna’s Laces dyeing up this line for us on their Shepherd Sock yarn base, which is one of our favorites. Here are a few of the 27 colors:

Cinnamon Toast, Undercover Agent, Loopy Lodge

Vacation Day, Sweetgrass, Icicles

Loopy Cakes – Thanks for the fun feedback on our first offering of Loopy Cake sets! We have used some of your great suggestions for another round of Cake packages for you. Each Loopy Cake set has 6 different mini skeins (approx. 110 yds. per cake, 660+ yards per set) that coordinate around a theme. In addition to the Autumn, Baby, Rainbow and Steampunk sets that we still have available, we’re adding in these new tonight: Chocolate & Roses (luscious pinks and browns), Manly (great for striped hats/gloves/scarves for guys), Starry Night (inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting) Whisper (the softest, sweetest colors), and Doll Parts (hair and skin tones for knitting dolls). Each set is great for colorwork and fair isle (like Colorwork Christmas Ornaments), for knitting cute striped patterns (like Leap, Zig and Zag Sock Yarn Blanket, and Starfield Cuffs) , for baby socks and clothes (like Saartje’s Bootees, Tiny Shoes, and Wee Tiny Owl Socks) , for Hexapuffs and Sock Yarn Blankets, for small items (like Sweater Ornaments, Mini Mittens, Holly, Ivy and Steve which look great in Christmas Colors, but I want them in Chocolate and Roses or Whisper, Cabled Coffee Cuff, and Seed Stitch Bracelets) and for coordinating with other multi-colors. Here are the new Cake Sets:

Chocolate & Roses, Starry Night, Whisper

Manly, Doll Parts

JulieSpins – Silky 435. This fingering weight yarn comes 435 yards to the skein and is 50% Silk, 50% Superwash Merino. It has a beautiful light sheen and wonderful hand. You’ll like it for shawls, scarves, lace, and lightweight sweaters. Shown below in Leafy Shadow, Persian Violets, and Night Bird.

GoKnit Bags – we’ve re-stocked all of the colors in this great project bag line.

KnowKnits Bracelets – we’ve re-stocked all of the colors in these quick-to-knit kits, perfect for gift-giving. You can see the set I knit up on this blog post.

Have fun perusing and shopping, and we’ll look forward to packing up all of your orders asap!

Quick (Cute) Knitted Jewelry Kits

If you have an evening to knit, you have plenty of time to whip up some of these cute gifts for friends and family! I made this KnowKnits set in about 90 minutes. Everything you need comes in the kit, except the needles. Each kit makes both bracelets (although the skinny triple-wrap bracelet can also be worn as a necklace, which is kind of fun.) It comes in Blue Raspberry (shown here), Lavender, Honey, Spearmint, Green Apple, Coconut, Kisses, Grape, Cotton Candy and Cherry.

We also have fun kits from Laura Nelkin Designs. These take a little longer to make (but not too much), and are equally fun and would also make a nice gift for someone on your list. We have Butin Collars (shown here) and Butin Earrings to match. We have Mudra Necklaces and Mudra Cuffs. And we have Ribband Bracelets and Ruffled Necklaces. These kits also include the yarn and beads to make the items – you’ll add in the needles. All of them come in several different color choices. Here is a Butin Collar that Lisa, one of our Loopy class teachers, knit up for us.

It was fun to work on small projects for a change. When you get something done in one evening, you really feel like you accomplished something!
