Loopy Garden Camp August Challenge – The Vegetable Garden
Join us in the Vegetable Garden this August as we plant, grow and harvest great projects. Each, starts with a single stitch and grows into something beautifully complete as the month goes by. So far, Loopy Garden Camp has been going great, and I feel confident that August’s challenge will be equally amazing! We have loved seeing all your June Flower Garden projects. It’s also been inspirational seeing all the July Butterfly Gardens begin. We know it may seem early to be thinking about August projects already (it’s only early July for Loopy’s sake), but we figure it’s better to give everyone too much time than not enough to get their projects thought out and yarn in place for August 1 starts!
The Vegetable Garden is where most healthy, tasty meals begin. August’s projects should be inspired by things you are likely to find in the vegetable garden! I’m so excited to start poking around Ravelry for something veggie-related. Your project can be inspired by the yarn color, company, or the pattern name or designer. Whatever brings you to Veggies, really. You can drill down on a favorite of yours (hello, broccoli, beets, carrots and peas!) or stick to a broader search of vegetables as a whole. Honestly, I think this one might be a bit more challenging than the previous 2 months, but we know you can do it!
No clue what we’re talking about? Check out the full Camp Loopy, Loopy Garden Camp description in June’s blog post HERE. In a nutshell, it’s a fun virtual summer program that keeps you motivated to knit or crochet by offering up fun challenges and rewards for completing projects.
Loopy Vegetable Garden Basics
- We offer a 10% discount on yarn purchased for your August project during Camp Week. Leave an order note letting us know which yarn is for Camp – we will not apply a discount if we do not see an order note (or an email requesting it if you happen to miss leaving a note in your ordering excitement). The discount will be applied on our end after your order comes through. August’s Camp Week runs July 7-14, 2026. For free shipping in the continental U.S., please make sure your discount won’t take you below the $125 level required for free shipping. Please Note – we are not able to further discount items already on sale.
- Yarn for your August project must be purchased from The Loopy Ewe on July 7, 2026 or later
- Your project should not be started before August 1st, 2026, and must be completed by August 31st, 2026 (*you CAN swatch prior to camp start date, just not the actual project)
- You must provide a photo of your completed project to be eligible for rewards. Email your photo along with your supporting information to support@theloopyewe.com by midnight, September 1, 2026. The email must also provide the following information. If this information is not provided, your entry will not be eligible for rewards:
- Pattern & Designer used.
- Yarn used (brand and base) and yardage used – yardage is for yarn held singly (if held double, only half the yardage used will count)
- An explanation of how your project fits with August’s theme. We love stories here, so please tell us!
- If available, we’d love a link to your Ravelry (or other) project page! Please DO NOT just send us a link to your Ravelry page. It takes a tremendous amount of work to track everyone, and if you can just put your information in an email to us that helps a lot.
