It’s May, and you all know what that means. It’s time to announce this year’s Camp Loopy virtual summer camp! This year Loopy will be spending some time outside, as we host Loopy Garden Camp. As usual, we’ll provide three months (June, July & August) of fun challenges to help you keep your knitting momentum through the summer. With one Challenge each month you’ll have some great projects finished by the end of summer! AND you’ll have done some fabulous virtual gardening 😍. Get your garden trowels and seeds ready because here we go!
Loopy Garden Camp Overview
We will host two Camper categories again this year. All Campers can enjoy each other’s company and will complete the same basic monthly challenges, but yardage requirements and rewards will differ as described below. We hope you’ll participate at the level that works best for you!
Patio Garden Campers
Patio Garden Campers participating in Loopy Garden Camp will complete one garden planter challenge each month. Each project must use at least 200 yards held singly (purchased from The Loopy Ewe in the time frame described below) to earn rewards. You are absolutely welcome to participate in discussions and in sharing your projects if you don’t meet the yardage requirement or use yarn from stash, but you will be ineligible for rewards. Patio Gardeners can participate in Loopy Garden Camp with less stress knowing the yardage requirements are lower. Additionally, if you are aiming for Full Garden participation, but have a last minute busy month, you can still complete a 200 yard project and qualify for finishing with the Patio Garden Campers.
Full Garden Campers
Full Garden Campers will complete 3 garden beds – one challenge per month. By the end of August, full Loopy Garden Camp finishers must have completed at least one 800+ yard project, one 600+ yard project and one 400+ yard project. One project must be completed from start to finish in each month (June, July, and August). You can pick which month you complete each yardage requirement, and you can always go over on yardage (yes to 3 projects of 800+ yards), but you must meet the minimum to qualify for Full Garden Camper completion. If you know your August will be busy, you might try to get the 800+ yardage project done in June or July. To be eligible for prizes, you must buy your yarn from The Loopy Ewe in the time frame described below.
Loopy Garden Camp June Challenge – The Flower Garden
Loopy Garden Camp kicks off with a Flower Garden challenge. June’s project will bring color and diversity to your garden – not to mention attracting butterflies and pollinators for the rest of the summer! Grow this garden using patterns, designers, or yarns (dyers, bases or colorways) inspired by flowers or things you might find in the flower garden. Been dreaming of making a Ranunculus sweater (Midori Hirose)? Now might be the time! Love JulieSpins? She has SO MANY flower inspired colors in all her bases. Honestly, this month the REAL challenge might be narrowing your project selection down from all the options! We love a good story, so feel free to share your selection process with us!
Loopy Garden Camp Basics
- We offer a 10% discount on yarn purchased for your June project during Camp Week. Leave an order note letting us which yarn is for Camp – we will not apply a discount if we do not see an order note (or an email requesting it if you happen to miss leaving a note in your ordering excitement). The discount will be applied on our end after your order comes through. June’s Camp Week runs May 12-19, 2026. For free shipping in the continental U.S., please make sure your discount won’t take you below the $125 level required for free shipping. Please Note – we are not able to further discount items already on sale
- Yarn for your June project must be purchased from The Loopy Ewe on May12, 2026 or later
- Your project should not be started before June 1st, 2026, and must be completed by June 30th, 2026 (*you CAN swatch prior to camp start date, just not the actual project)
- You must provide a photo of your completed project to be eligible for rewards. Email your photo along with your supporting information to support@theloopyewe.com by midnight, July 1, 2026. The email must also provide the following information. If this information is not provided, your entry will not be eligible for rewards:
- Pattern & Designer used.
- Yarn used (brand and base) and yardage used – yardage is for yarn held singly (if held double, only half the yardage used will count)
- An explanation of how your project fits with June’s theme
- If available, we’d love a link to your Ravelry (or other) project page! Please DO NOT just send us a link to your Ravelry page. It takes a tremendous amount of work to track everyone, and if you can just put your information in an email to us that helps a lot.
Loopy Garden Camp Rewards
All rewards will be sent after Camp Loopy Completion (late September is our goal). This gives us time to verify and compile all the completed projects. Please do not email us in July asking for June’s reward. This year we will be sending out codes to add your reward to a cart. At that time, you will be able to check out with just the reward or add other items. The reward is, well, a well-earned reward but you will need to pay the shipping costs. You will have through November 30, 2026 to place that order for your camp reward.
Full Garden Campers will receive rewards based on the number of months they complete
- Complete 1 month: Set of 3 stitch markers
- Complete 2 months: Set of 3 stitch markers + a 20g hand dyed miniskein from Little Squirrel Yarn
- Complete 3 months: Set of 3 stitch markers + a 20g hand dyed miniskein + a 100g hand dyed skein from Little Squirrel Yarn
Patio Garden Campers must finish all 3 months to earn a reward. The reward will be a set of 3 stitch markers.
Loopy Garden Camp Swag
Your camp order each month will contain a small surprise to go with the Loopy Garden Camp theme of the month (while supplies last for each month)..
This year we have Camp Loopy Stickers. Stickers measure approximately 2″ x 3″ and are super cute – this year’s logo on a sticker for your water bottle or laptop. It warms my heart. We are also trying something a little different this year – we have Loopy Garden Camp T-Shirts that will be printed on demand through a third party supplier (but ordered through our website). They come in 7 fun colors! I’m so excited to see how it goes. I DO welcome feedback on your experience with this option.

Keep it Social!
We will start a Camp Loopy Chat thread on Ravelry, later this afternoon. Join us for lively conversations, answers to your questions and ample encouragement from your fellow gardeners!
Instagram & Facebook. If you post on Instagram or Facebook, use the hashtag #camploopy2026 and #LoopyGardenCamp . That will allow others to see your awesome projects, and search for fellow Campers.
May your Gardens grow strong in June, July & August, and may weeds stay away!
