Quarterly Boxes for 2026!

Solstice-Equinox Boxes

In 2026 we are partnering with Sarah & Dylan of Little Squirrel Yarn and Lizz of Necessary Pancakes to create quarterly boxes! These will be our “Solstice & Equinox Box” series. Each box will be released to correspond to either an equinox or solstice and are planned for the below dates. We all need a little something to look forward to through the year!

  • Vernal Equinox (March 20, 2026). The spring box will have the theme “New Growth.” Spring is a time for fresh starts, new beginnings, and renewed optimism and hope. The number of daylight hours equals the hours of darkness, and starts the shift toward longer days. Our intention is for the Vernal Equinox box to reflect this!
  • Summer Solstice (June 21, 2026).The summer box will be themed around “Endless Light.” We will celebrate the longest days of the year. Longer daylight hours provide ample time for farmers markets, beach days and summer adventures. The summer box will encompass the joy of long days and time to enjoy the world around us.
  • Autumnal Equinox (September 22, 2026). The autumn box will celebrate “Harvest Abundance.” Fall is a time to be grateful for the bounty we have. We will embrace cozy layers and rich textures as nature prepares for winter. Day and night are again equal, and as we shift to shorter days and prepare for darker winter months, we encourage snuggling up with your craft and slowing down after a busy summer!
  • Winter Solstice (December 21, 2026). The winter box theme will focus on “The Longest Night.” Our quarterly box will create warmth and light during the darkest time of the year. These shorter days give time for introspection and planning for the coming year. It also marks the point where days start to grow longer and serves as a prelude to growing light.

What’s in These Quarterly Boxes?

Well, we aren’t going to tell you that, silly, it’s a SURPRISE!!! But, at a minimum each will have:

  • The equivalent of 2 full Skeins of Little Squirrel Yarn (may come as one full size and a mini skein set, 2 full skeins, 4 half skeins, or whatever best fits the box’s intention)
  • A custom-sewn crafting accessory from Necessary Pancakes!
  • At least one knit/crochet notion
  • Patterns or pattern ideas to use your yarn
  • Fun extras to round out the box and bring you joy!

As a knitter, I’m REALLY working to be better about including items that appeal to both knit and crochet. That said, sometimes items are really very specific to one or the other. SO. . . if you leave an order note on your quarterly box order that you prefer a box with crochet-specific items in place of knit-specific items, we will make sure you get items that suit your craft. If you do not leave an order note, the knitter-approved item(s) will be the default.

We are capping the number of quarterly boxes available at 60 per quarter to ensure we can provide the highest quality possible. The Vernal Equinox box is now available for preorder! We also have the option to purchase all 4 boxes right off the bat. When you commit to all 4 now, you will receive a special ‘extra’ (valued at minimum $30) with your Winter Solstice box in December. As another bonus, you won’t run the the risk of missing out in later seasons if they sell out. If you would like to preorder for ALL the boxes, you need to check out with both the Vernal Equinox box AND the Combined Remaining Boxes.

When will Quarterly Boxes Ship?

Our goal is to have quarterly boxes to you in time for the equinox/solstice event. Our plan is to ship on the following schedule:

  • Vernal Equinox: March 3, 2026
  • Summer Solstice: June 2, 2026
  • Autumnal Equinox: September 1, 2026
  • Winter Solstice: November 24, 2026

Who Are These People?

Well, if you are seeing this blog post, you likely already know The Loopy Ewe! We are a fabulous (if we do say so ourselves 🤣) yarn store serving knit and crochet aficionados across the globe (but all through our shop in Loveland, Colorado). We are a woman-owned small business with about 5 employees (maybe 6 if you count my partner Bob. He doesn’t get paid, so he’s really a volunteer, I guess).

Little Squirrel Yarn is an amazing small indie dyer (also in Loveland, Colorado). With Sarah as color master and business owner and Dylan as cheerleader, dye assistant, ideas generator, and all around good partner, this team is unstoppable. From their website: “we dye small batches of exquisite colors as well as designing and producing accessories to help make working with yarn a little more fun.” We say a LOT more fun. Check them out HERE.

Necessary Pancakes is another woman-owned small business located out of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Lizz is a knitter, crocheter, spinner, stitcher and lover of all things colorful. She sews like a dream and pairs fabrics like none other. There is so much joy in her products. You can follow her on Instagram HERE. We feel so lucky to have her join our boxes!

We know you are going to love these fun quarterly boxes. If you have questions, shoot us an email (support@theloopyewe.com) or give us a call (970.568.5290).

Stay crafty!
