We are mid-summer and ready to reveal The Great Loopy Make Off August Challenge! You are probably currently elbow deep in cookie dough for July’s challenge, but we want to make sure you have all your supplies ready to go for a successful August Make too! Let’s get your yarn, needles/hooks, and notions organized and in your project bag so you can start right away on August 1.
It’s been great seeing all your successful June (and some July!) projects! If you haven’t already joined us, details for the overall Camp Loopy can be found in our original The Great Loopy Make Off challenge post, and details for the July challenge can be found on the July Challenge post. It’s not too late to join us on this great making adventure. We’d love to have you along.
The Great Loopy Make Off – August Make Challenge
This month, get ready to create some beautiful Cake! No summer camp would be complete without a grand finale, and what could be better than a Loopy Cake-Make? Pick a pattern, designer, or yarn that relates in some way to cake, and get your make going. The Great Loopy Make Off is not overly picky how you relate your project to the theme. There are A LOT of options! Choose three colors and make a three-layer cake. Focus on frosting/icing, cake ingredients, cake style (cupcake, wedding, birthday, etc.) – you get the picture! One of our favorite parts of Camp Loopy is seeing how creative you all are at tying in a project with the monthly theme. You are all so talented. Sorry, not sorry if the theme for this month causes you to have a hankering for a sweet treat! I could go some cake now!
August Camp Week
We are offering a 15% discount on the yarn you will use for The Great Loopy Make Off in August when you purchase your yarn from The Loopy Ewe between July 15-22, 2025. Sale yarn is not eligible for a further discount.
Please leave an order note indicating that this is for your August Camp project and telling us which specific yarn will be used. If there is not a note, we won’t be able to apply the discount. If, in your excitement to get your order in, you miss the order notes, please email us at support@theloopyewe.com as soon and possible. We will make sure the discount is applied.
Key Camp Loopy Requirements
To receive Camp Credit for your project, please make sure you check these boxes (also outlined in the Original The Great Loopy Make Off Camp BLOG Post):
- Yarn for the August project must be purchased from The Loopy Ewe July 15, 2025, or later.
- Your project must use the yardage you are hoping to meet. Check out the Original Camp Blog Post for details. Yardage is for yarn HELD SINGLY (or x2, if held double).
- Your project must be completed entirely in the Month of August (started on or after August 1, 2025 and completed by August 31, 2025).
- A photo of your The Great Loopy Make Off completed project must be emailed to us (support@theloopyewe.com) with all required project information. Remember to include your name, yarn used, yardage, pattern & designer name, explanation of your link to August’s challenge. Submit this by September 1, 2025. Please do not just send a link to your Ravelry project.
The Great Loopy Make Off Community Opportunities
Need ideas? Color opinions? Project encouragement? Join us on Ravelry in the Loopy Groupies. We’re using the same thread we’ve used all summer. We all enjoy brainstorming and seeing what everyone else is working on. If you are local or just visiting the area, we’d love to see your projects in person! Your works in progress AND finished projects inspire us! You also may end up with a few more projects in your queue!
