We can hardly believe it, but we have arrived at pre-order season for the December Mystery Gnome Knit-Along from Sarah Schira of Imagined Landscapes. Pre-orders for yarn sets, goodie sets and more from The Loopy Ewe are now open (August 7-21, 2025)! This is The Loopy Ewe’s 4th year providing yarn and goodies for this adventure. The gnome and storyline this year will follow Gnandad’s Grand Adventure. Sarah will guide you as you knit a fabulous mystery gnome. She provides fantastic clues at each step , creates excellent video tutorials, sprinkles in a lot of fun extras, and manages to weave a compelling and imaginative gnome-story, along the way.
The Loopy Ewe (in collaboration with Little Squirrel Yarn again this year) provides excellent yarn sets carefully selected for Gnandad’s Grand Adventure. We’ve also put together a carefully curated and super fun-filled, Goodie Set. There are some extra fun items in this year’s offerings. We’ve created a Gnome Finishing Set and a fabulous Travel Tumbler. We do also have Gnome bases – though they may not be necessary if you opt for a pair of Gnandad’s skis! . You decide what you want to do! Details for this year’s knit-along can be found on the imagined landscapes website. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GNOME PATTERN/CLUES ARE SOLD SEPARATELY THROUGH IMAGINED LANDSCAPES STARTING NOVEMBER 3. THE LOOPY EWE IS ONLY PROVIDING YARN, GOODIE SETS, AND A FEW FUN EXTRAS!
The Loopy Ewe works closely with Imagined Lansdcapes to provide yarn sets that will work well for the knit-along. We spice things up with some fun extras to enhance your 2025 December Mystery Gnome-ing experience! We are proud to be one of two providers for the Gnome Goodie Set for this Mystery Gnome Knit-Along. Our aim is to have you squealing with delight when you open each surprise. Sarah will tell you when to open each of the 12 carefully selected packages during the knit-along. Starting today pre-orders for all the Gnome-y goodness are live. Simply search for “2025 Gnome” on our website, or click the “What’s New” button, and you’ll find all the options. These are being sold as PRE-ORDERS and will ship before the second week of November.
Gnandad’s Grand Adventure Yarn Details:
We have 3 color set options from Little Squirrel Yarn again this year. To coordinate with last year’s gnome, pair them as described below, or pick the color set you like and it’ll be grand! Each set has been dyed for us by Little Squirrel Yarn on their lovely Oak Sock Base. The yarn is 20g of fingering weight, 87 yards per mini, 75% Fine Superwash Merino/25% Recycled Nylon.
- Gnandad’s Aventure (pair with last year’s Gnana’s House): Petrol, Tinsel, Tabby, Marshmallow (set used by Sarah to design the gnome)
- Bird of the Season (pair with last year’s Evergreen Sparkle): Cardinal, Wheat, Cobble, Marshmallow
- Frosty (pair with last year’s Icicle Season): Vivid, Amethyst, Pewter, Marshmallow1
Gnandad’s Grand Adventure Goodie Set Details:
In addition to yarn sets, we are offering a delight-filled Goodie Set again this year to pair with the 2025 December Mystery Gnome Knit-Along. The Goodie Set contains 12 wrapped and numbered gifts for you! Included are a combination of notions, gnome-related items, and other fun things to treat yourself through this December’s gnome-ing. Many items will be gnome-themed. Some can become part of your gnome (or not – and none of them are required for the Mystery Gnome knit-along). The 12 items will come in a cute project bag. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE GOODIE SET DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY YARN – YOU MUST PURCHASE THAT SEPARATELY. The goodie set comes only with the project bag and 12 fun gifts. Gnome Base / Gnandad Skis / Poles Details:
As last year, There is no base in this year’s goodie set. You can purchase a gnome base separately if you would like, but Sarah is including instruction for using a pair of Skis with Gnandad’s Grand Adventure. We have both the Gnome Base AND Skis as options this year.
The Gnome Base is a 1.5″ disk that features this year’s Gnome-Along logo – Gnandad. The base is a great addition to the bottom of your gnome, or for use as an ornament to remind you of your December gnome experience! The disk adds stability, so your gnome will stand up better, but also provides a handy way to keep track of which gnome went with the year’s gnome along!
Gnome Skis! The idea of Gnome skis for Gnandad that Sarah is using on her gnome is so fun! We’ve designed our own special pair – they are super cute and will make a great addition to your Gnandad. Our skis measure approximately 6″ long by 1/2″-3/4″ wide (based on location on the ski). They have been custom made for us in wood. The top of each ski features 3 runes – the rune on the back means safe travels. On the bottom of one ski, The Loopy Ewe 2025 is imprinted.
Gnome Ski Poles. These are an adorable addition to your Gnandad. Ski poles measure approximately 4″ from tip to top of the pole itself. There are multiple colors for the ski pole strap. These will be randomly assigned (in matching pairs), and we cannot accomodate specific color requests.
Get a small discount when you order both the skis and ski poles as a package!
These will ship out in November along with the rest of the preorder items, so you will have them in time for the December 1st kick off!

Gnome Finishing Set
We are offering Gnome Finishing Sets to help you complete your gnomes! Each finishing kit comes in a 100% Cotton Cloth drawstring bag that could serve as a small project bag! Inside the bag you will find:
- 65g Poly-fil stuffing
- 100g of glass beads sewn into a nylon bag for weighting your gnome
- 2 darning needles
- A small gnome-y gnotebook (2.5″ x 4″)
Ordering Details:
We are happy to have you order as many of each item as you like, but please check out with ONLY the 2025 Pre-order Gnome yarn sets/goodie bags/gnome skis/bases/Gnome FInishing Sets/Travel Tumbler in your order. We can’t mix pre-orders with other items. If you need to purchase other, non-gnome-related items, please place a separate order! Let us know if you need help.
2025 Mystery Gnome items (yarn sets/goodie sets/gnome bases&skis, finishing sets, and travel tumblers) will ship out by the end of the second week in November, with international shipping happening (hopefully) a bit earlier.
Pre-orders will be open through August 21, 2025 at midnight mountain time. Please order by then, as we get super sad when folks contact us after that asking if they can still get the goodie sets!
If you inadvertently order before you have all your items together, we can combine them, but please send us an email or leave an order note to let us know to look for that. With so many orders coming through during this time period, we can easily miss it otherwise.
Mystery Gnome Knit-Along Imagined Landscape Details:
Sarah Schira from Imagined Landscapes will be providing the Gnandad’s Grand Adventure pattern for purchase separately starting November 1. This year comes with 21 days of emails filled with stories, recipes and the brilliant imagination and creativity that Sarah brings. The pattern will be available for purchase through the Imagined Landscapes site, with the first email/clue arriving on December 1st, and your gnome complete by December 21st.
