Happy Monday! We have more beauties for you today, including another new yarn – Walcot Opus.
Wollmeise Lace – These huge skeins come with 1722 yards (that’s almost a mile of yarn). Beautiful for lightweight sweaters, shawls, and wraps. You’ll find Wollmeise Lace to be a bit heavier than other laces. I find that a plus – easier to knit!
Wollmeise Blend – These are also oversized for sport weight skeins, at 546 yards per skein. A wonderful blend of 70% Superwash Merino, 20% Cashmere, and 10% Polyamid. I like this base for wraps, scarves and cowls, but it’s also great for sweaters. (Knit it as is for sport weight, hold it double for worsted weight. Here is a chart that lists all yarn held double, and the resulting weights.)
Wollmeise DK – Another big skein compared to other DK options. This one has 468 yards per skein, with a great twist. You’ll love it for sweaters, hats, mitts, shawls, and wraps. 100% Superwash Merino.
Walcot Opus – This new to us sport weight yarn comes from the UK in the most beautiful colors. Dyeing on a base that is 70% Falkland Merino and 30% Baby Alpaca gives it a depth of color that seems to add layers and texture. 355 yards per skein, lofty but hard wearing. Great for sweaters and such.
Barr-Co Hand Creams, Soaps, and Lip Balms to keep your knitting hands in great shape! We added two new scents – Blood Orange Amber and Honey Mint. We also re-stocked the other scents. And – the price has gone down. That’s always good news! If you’re local, we also have the candles in all scents, which are 100% natural soy and vegetable wax blends, and burn for up to 120 hours. (Too heavy to ship, unfortunately.)
Our last Yarn Update included: February Exclusive from Dream in Color (called Will You Be Mine), Peepers Reading Glasses, Supersnips and other notions, and needle re-stocks.
We have fun challenges going on right now – are you participating with us? We have:
Loopy Academy Grad School
February Blue Sky KAL (buy 2 skeins of Woolstok, get the Claremont Cabled Hat free)
Malabrigo Odyssy Shawl KAL (out of 3 skeins of Dos Tierras. This was set for March and changed to April by Malabrigo, but I know a lot of you have already ordered the yarn and are starting it early!)
And our unofficial CAL (crochet-a-long) for anyone who wants to jump in and give it a try (I’m making an afghan out of four colors of Cascade 220 Superwash and wanted company!)
We love knitting and crocheting along with all of you!
Sheri and The Loopy Ewe Crew
P.S. Join us on Facebook where we have set up a private knitting group for anyone who would like to join us for chatting about yarn and projects (The Loopy Ewe Knitting Circle), or on Ravelry (Loopy Groupies) for the same. It’s always fun to see what you’re working on!
