My August Camp Project is done! It was a little touch and go there. I didn’t get much knitting time the first few days of the month, and then I had to stop last week to make the Slipping Through the Cracks Cowl that I made out of our August Blue Moon Color called Purr-fection that I am in love with. But I finished up this August project over the weekend, and got it blocked and dry.
Details:
Yarn: The Uncommon Thread Lush Worsted (5 skeins and I used all of it, so about 200 yds. more than called for to make it longer)
Pattern: Stone Point
Modifications: I repeated the pattern 6 times instead of 4, to make it a little longer. With blocking, I think the regular pattern is probably long enough for most people, but as a tall person, I needed a little more length.
I love it. And really, it was an easy and quick knit, all things considered. Perfect for the fall chill in the air that I know is just around the corner!
We have a Dino-Winner from our contest. The winning dinosaur (and group) is the Purlasaurus, and here is her description:
My scientific name is Purlasarus
You can call me Purl.
“Always Be Prepared” is the Purlasarus mantra
And as you can see I’m just that kind of girl!
I’m a fun loving Dino and I’ve been told
Camp Loopy in the summer is where one wants to be!
Perhaps you’ll think I’m being a tad but bold
But I just couldn’t resist
And had to bring some Junior Campers along with me.
My hide is iridescent pinkish purple
And bumpy to the touch.
A daily diet of plants- fruits- vegetables and such
Is what I’m supposed to eat
To be perfectly honest
I’m often tempted by something gooey and sweet!
My knitting skills are always growing
And Camp Loopy puts them to the test
But truth be told
I like knitting socks the best!
My stash is quite extensive
But you know how it is
There’s times when a gal just has to have something new
And there’s no better place to find it then The Loopy Ewe!
Congratulations to all of the Purlasaurs! We will be awarding 25 Reward Store Points to the Purlasaurus group on our Ravlery thread. If you are a member, look for details on that thread. We also drew a name from all of you who voted, and we’ve added 25 points to Shari W’s (from WA) Loopy account. Thank you for all of the votes!

P.S. Did you catch our Facebook Live video today? We shared color combos for Plaid is the New Fad pattern, which looks like a lot of fun to knit. You’ll find the Project Planner links on the FB Live thread on our Ravelry page.
