Blue Moon August Exclusive and Abstract Fibers

There are good and bad things about the internet, but one of the good things is that it allows you to become friends with people all over the world that you have never met. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of our Loopy friends in Houston and the surrounding areas. The pictures are just unbelievable, and it looks like you all are in for another round of rain again this evening. I know there are a lot of wonderful organizations down there helping and that the biggest need is money at this point, so of course we will be donating. There are many others in the knitting community who will be doing that as well. We’re all concerned for you. Please stay safe and keep us posted.

In our Monday Update, we have for you today:

Blue Moon Fiber Arts August Exclusive This one is call Purr-fection and it was dyed up based on my sweet Zoe cat (who is no longer with us). Tina, the dyer, proclaimed it her favorite color so far this year. Of course I was going to love it no matter what. But as I knit up the cowl, I became even more enamored with the color. The tan, grey and white background has tiny pops of green, yellow and pink and it works well for cowls, scarves, hats and sweaters. I also think it would make a wonderful baby blanket. The Knit Nighters frequently get a sneak peek of the next exclusive color, since I’m usually working on the sample there. I always know it’s a going to be good when several of them proclaim it a “must have”. 🙂 As always, we have it in the Socks that Rock base in Lightweight, Mediumweight and Heavyweight. I used a skein of the Heavyweight to make this Slipping Through the Cracks Cowl.

Abstract Fibers Super Sock+ We carry a lot of fingering weight yarn. So much! But this really is one of my favorites for socks. I love the bright colors, and how it knits up. It’s soft and squishy and wears well. And equally beautiful as an accessory for your winter coat, too.

Our last Yarn Update included: Townhouse Yarns (new indie dyer from Dublin, Ireland), The Uncommon Thread Posh Fingering, Everyday Singles, Lush Worsted and Merino DK, The Loopy Ewe Anniversary Trios, and Needle Keepers.

Thanks for being such great customers and Loopy friends. We really do love being in a world where we can be friends with so many people outside of our own city. You inspire us every day with your creativity and generosity. We’re so happy to be connected with you.

Sheri and The Loopy Elves

  1. Every month I look forward to the exclusive color. This one is truly a winner! So soft and pretty. Not sure if I could pick a favorite, but this one would be towards the top of the list!

  2. Zoe was so adorable and clearly was a Knitting Cat. I’m sure you feel her warmth in this beautiful yarn, and those purring memories will be w/you each time you see that cowl. I may need to make one for my sister Sheila out of that same coloration which is reminiscent of her beloved Misty cat (who is no doubt exchanging comments w/Zoe about humans who name yarns after felines! “Why didn’t they just give us a ball of it to claw and play with?”)
