It’s Friday, and I have another tried and true recipe for you. I have decided that I have so many peanut butter recipes pinned on my Pinterest account that I finally just gave in and started a peanut butter board. Apparently I like peanut butter in things.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3 Tbl. milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Cream together the peanut butter, butter, and both sugars. Beat in the milk, egg and vanilla until fluffy.
Combine the flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl and then add into the peanut butter mixture.
Roll into tablespoon-sized balls. Place 2″ apart on cookie sheets and press down with a fork.
Bake 8-10 minutes at 375 degrees. Enjoy!
This recipe got me to thinking about peanut butter and chocolate colored yarn, which resulted in a walk around The Loopy and a peanut buttered Loopy photo. We have a LOT of beautiful yarn here in the shop. I try not to take too many walk-abouts because I always come back to my office with an armful of yarn that I need to buy. SO.MUCH.BEAUTIFUL.YARN.HERE.
So here’s the contest question – which skein of beautiful yarn would you like to win from The Loopy Ewe? Leave your answer in the comments and I’ll do a random drawing next week and we will send it to you! (Well, we’ll send it to you if we draw your name. You know how contests work!)

Peanut Butter Yarn in photo: Kauni ED, Cumbria Catbells, Black Water Abbey Autumn, Pashmina Glazed Pecan, Rastita Glitter, and Breathless Bark.
I love JulieSpins Silky 435. Eastern Meadowlark would be my pick. I love birds and we don’t hear the meadowlarks like we used to here.
Going to make those cookies!
I would love to win a skein of Dream in Color, Smooshy with Cashmere – rainforest. Thanks for wonderful contest chance!
Mrs. Crosby spicy habanero. I have never gotten to try Mrs. Crosbys yet and hear it’s wonderful yarn.
Most of us that read your blog don’t understand the “hazards” of owning your own yarn shop.
I would like to try JulieSpins Silky 435 Pink Fling.
It definitely IS a hazard, though! (Maybe a nice hazard, but still a hazard …) 😉
Only one? One skein of lovely yarn to pick from all the yarn at Loopy Central? Goodness how can I chose just one!
Rueppell’s Griffon because its name is close to mine in Mrs. Crosby’s Hatbox!
I’d love to win a skein of Wollmeise Lace in Tortchen.
Go to Averyclaire.org if you want to see a gorgeous quilt (Irish Chain) and the story that goes with it.
Grace Meneely
Berthoud, Colorado.
Ancient Arts in Mineral – I love all the colors in that one (and I have a bag of Reese’s Minis next to me as I was reading your post about the love of peanut butter – tiny little peanut butter cups that don’t have any wrappers on them — so much nicer than having to stop and unwrap them before you pop them in your mouth. 😉
One???
I just finished a project in WM Neptune and that was close to perfect. But to be perfect would need to have cashmere in it. Like Shalimar Breathless Neptune! (or Asilomar which is out of stock)
I have had a fixation with Blackwater Abbey lately and would have to put in a cheer for the sportweight Sea.
I love Hedgehog fibers Sock in Naïve. I’ve been on a pink kick lately!
There are so many, many skeins I’d love to have, but I’m gonna say Hedgehog Fibres, Merino Lace in the Merlot colorway.
Because I snagged a skein and gave it as a gift, and SO wanted to keep it, I’d choose Wollmeise Lace in Golden Pear. But that’s a bit expensive, so if I win, I’d be fine with a substitution.
It is a little expensive, but you get a LOT of yarn for that price! If you win, we’ll send it to you. No need for a substitution!
I would love a skein of BMFSTR Lightweight yarn. It is so yummy and I love all of the colors! It’s a great yarn!
I’m dying for some Wollmeise, Pure Neptun Dark!
Wow! What a nice contest! So many great choices. I’m going to go with Julie Spins Silky in Caribbean.
Top of my wish list right now is Dream in Color Classy, Mountain Wildflowers. Gorgeous!
Too many to choose from! But if you twist my arm Hedgehog Fibres Sock Yarn in Dragonfly. Thanks for the chance.
I love the Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere September ’11 DC Color
Not usually a pink fan, but Dream in Color in Punky Fushia caught my eye!
I guess I would love a skein of hollandaise so that I could see why everyone drops.o Dr it so much!
I am soooo making those cookies!!! Chocolate? Peanut butter? Um, yes please!!!
If I could choose one skein of beautiful yarn – at this moment- it would have to be Julie Spins in the color “Sphinx”. I absolutely love those colors and the silk and wool — sooo soft!!! Even if I don’t win, it’s still in my wish list to buy!
At the moment I am in love with dream in color smooshy. I like the color Prairie Grass 🙂
So many pretty yarns, it’s difficult to decide. Love Wollmeise Lace, Poem color looks lovely!
Dream in Color, Smooshy with Cashmere, Heavenly color.
I don’t believe I’ve ever knit something to treat myself in the color blue 🙂 and this one is very pretty.
I would LOVE to win a skein of Ancient Arts in the Chinook Arch colorway. I have looked at that over and over in the past two weeks but since I don’t have an immediate project in mind for it I have not let myself buy it. It is simply gorgeous though!
Wollmeise Lace in Nichts! (Or some other pink, blue, or purple color.)
Choosing one skein is almost impossible because part of the appeal is the array of colors all together. I guess I would choose Ancient Arts in Pug Dog since I’ve always wanted a pug and this is probably the closest I will ever get to having one!
Kauni ED please and thank you
Sweet Georgia cashsilk lace, Cayenne B.
I am going to make those cookies! They look Fabulous! 🙂
only one? gosh, I am sorely tempted each and every week by beautiful skeins from the Loopy Ewe. But if pressed I would fall back on one of my all-time faves, MadelineTosh, in the color way Spectrum. Currently available in Pashmina, a base I haven’t tried. Please…and thank you!
I don’t know how you can resist any of your yarns! I am in love with Shalimar Breathless fingering in Bungalow (or almost any color, really)! Thank you!
Bah Yarns La Jolla in Fiji Coast
What a fun contest! I would choose Sweet Georgia Tough Love Sock Yarn in Rosebud. Cookies look good too. Thanks.
Jane
I would love a gorgeous skein of Socks that Rock lightweight in Jewel of the Nile!
(And I love peanut butter in things too!)
I am so curious what all the fuss is about Wollmeise. I chose Wollmeise Twin in Hamam.
Thanks for the peanut butter cookie recipe. That is definitely happening!
The yarn I would like to use is Wollmeise Blend in Sail the 7 Seas. Knitting a shawl and enjoying the PB and chocolate chip cookies sounds like a good way to spend a cool weather day.
Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere ion Evening Flame please. It is SOO hard to pick just one, tho. I would be afraid to come to the store for that very reason.
I too love Julie Spins and I’ve been drooling over “French Violets” in the Silky 435. Can’t wait to make the cookies. Yum and Thank You!
Oh I’m so excited that Wollmeise is still in the store and that Chim Chim Chimney in Pure is available, because everyone must have a little Mary Poppins in their stash. This would be a most awesome skein of yarn to win.
Lorna’s Laces, Shepherd Worsted Black Purl
I have no idea what I want to make with this yarn, but I just love it!
I would love to win Wollmeise blend in Blaue Tint. Thank you for the recipe. I can’t wait to make them.
Such a tough decision! I think Wollmeise, Blend in Ein Klein Wenig Verrucht is what I’d pick.
I would love Ancient Art, German Shepherd. DH was a police K9 handler for 28 years and I think he would appreciate a pair of socks from that yarn colorway.
I’m loving the Dream in Color Jilly with Cashmere Sept ’11 DC Color.
Oh! I’ve got to make those cookies….YUMMY!!!
As to yarn, I love TLE and all the choices, but I’ve really wanted to try Three Irish Girls, Glenhaven Cashmerino Fingering (French Quarter colorway) it’s gorgeous to look at!
Those cookies look so yummy.
I’d love to win a skein of Dream in Color Classy in the Big Box of Crayons colorway.
I’ve wanted to try Jade Sapphire, Mongolian Cashmere 4-ply for a long time since I have a pattern calling for that yarn. I would choose the Caribbean Mist color.
I love peanut butter too. We like to melt it in the microwave and put it on ice cream with bananas and chocolate syrup.
I would like to win some Wollmeise Lace to use for Nuvem, maybe pink or red. I love knitting giant shawls!
We all love peanut butter in our house, my two furry babies love their peanut butter treats. I have never won anything before but if I do win I would love a skein of Wollmeise Lace in Golden Pear, such a beautiful colour!
Hedgehog Merino Lace in the Tremble colorway…..
Wow! Those cookies look so yummy! How do you stay so gorgeous, Sheri, with all the yummy goodies you make?!?!?! The yarn range at The Loopy Ewe is so wide, so amazingly varied, choosing a favorite to win is quite a task!!! Wha to choose??? What to choose???!!! Okay, for me it would have to be the Madelinetosh Pashmina in Vishnu! Such yummy yarn, Merino/Cashmere/Sllk! It flows through the fingers, it delights the eyes, it is a perfect yarn! I love th color, and would be delighted to win a skein! Thank you for this contest, Sheri! Good luck to all the entrants and Best Wishes to the winner!
