Do You Need to Get Away? (CONTEST!)

heartfeltBecause it’s February (the month of love – and you know we love you!) and in honor of our first Colorado Loopy Ewe Spring Fling coming up, we thought it would be fun to give away a spot at our Spring Fling for a contest this month. Not only that, but if you win, you get to pick a friend to bring along with you. We saved a spot for them, too! You cover the cost of getting yourself to the hotel (by plane, train or automobile), and we’ll provide you both with the Fling weekend package for free. (Pop on over to this blog post to see what is included in the Fling weekend package.) If you have already signed up for a spot at the Fling, you’re still eligible to enter the contest and get your Fling package for free for you and a friend. We don’t want to leave you out. The Spring Fling dates are April 18-21, Thursday evening through Sunday morning.

So do you need a weekend away with your best buddy? Would you like to hang out with a bunch of great knitters, visit Loopy Central, take a class, get a goodie bag and relax all weekend? If you want to be entered to win, leave a comment below and tell us you’d like to attend and who you want to bring along with you. We’ll use the random number generator to pick someone next week and will report back with a winner. It’s going to be a great weekend!

  1. I would bring along my friend Amélie. She is in serious need of some ‘she-time’ with knitting, good company and yarn shopping. Her daughter is nearly one, so she’d be able leave her with dad. And she lives nearly a 500 miles away, so we never get to knit together in person!

  2. I’d love to come, though with a new infant, I’d only be able to do it if he could come. For other adult, I’d bring my knitting bud K, who deserves a weekend off!

  3. I would love to go! I don’t know which of my lovely knitting friends that I’d ask. I would probably have to draw a name out of a hat to make it fair!

  4. A weekend spent in CO knitting! This sounds like a great idea!! I would bring along my knitting friend, Alisha, who is always looking for a great getaway to knit.

  5. I am coming to Spring Fling, but there are several great knitting friends who inspired me to return to knitting. They really need a break away even more than I do.

  6. I finally got myself out of an abusive 7-year relationship. My heart is broken but knitting is helping me to heal … I hadn’t knit for some time, but started again in January. Need to find ways to socialize again instead of keeping to myself all the time. This would be the perfect opportunity …

  7. It is so wonderful that Sheri and the Loopy Ewe are offering this opportunity to attend the Spring Fling to a lucky knitter and friend! I would love to visit the shop and meet all of the elves and see the beautiful yarns in person. I would bring my friend who hasn’t had a vacation in years and is learning to knit. It would really raise her spirits!

  8. I have never been to Colorado, so the very idea of going there and meeting a whole bunch of knitters sounds like a great adventure. The best friend, a teacher, could use a vacation, so I would definitely bring her.

    Thanks Sheri for doing this!

  9. I’d so love to come to the fling again! I had a lot of fun in St Louis (even though I did catch the Swine Flu on the flight home!!), it would be awesome to get to see you in Colorado too! 🙂

  10. I would love to attend the Fling, and I definitely need to get away! If I won, I would bring my mother with me. She is my favorite travel buddy.

  11. Oh man if I won I would bring my fiancée (who does knit) and we would finally get to have a vacation together. We have never had a vacation together and getting to go to fling would be awesome!

  12. OMG!! What an awesome giveaway!! I would soooo love to come to Spring Fling and bringing my bestie Terry would be the icing on the cake! 🙂

  13. What a lovely and incredibly generous offer! Wow, would I love to win. Spring Fling is just full of awesome. If I did win, I would ask my good friend Jane to come. We’ve roomed together before for Spring Fling and always had so much fun together.

  14. Boy would I love to get to go to this event!~!~!~!

To get to come for free and bring a friend – what could be better.

  15. This would be a Godsend to be able to go! I’m a caregiver with no income because of it and I NEED to get away BAD! I would bring my friend Terri if she can come or Vicky my travel buddy!

  16. I would love to come to the fling. Who I’d bring is between two people, so I don’t want to name names in case they read this. 🙂

  17. I’ve wanted to go to Colorado for as long as I can remember, but haven’t made it yet. I would love to take my daughter, who has yet to learn to knit – but definitely wants to. What a great experience a trip like this would be for her!

  18. Oh my – I can’t even imagine winning this! I would have to bring my first knitting bud ever – my sister-in-law Dee Dee.

  19. Well – this is worth a shot, I guess. 🙂 I’d love to bring a friend in Dallas I haven’t seen in 5 years. We used to go to knitting groups together and I miss seeing her!

  20. This would be an awesome trip. I would bring my mom who is the best knitter I know.
She will not be in town though so I would need to think about it.

  21. I would love the opportunity to attend! I’ve heard so much about the Spring Fling via podcasts and have never been on a knitting retreat before. I don’t have any friends who knit so I don’t know who I would bring, but would love the chance to come and make some knitting friends. 🙂

  22. Do I want to come? Of course! My boyfriend just broke up with me, my company is closing, and I haven’t had a vacation…..ever? As far as who I’d bring..I’m not sure.

  23. A weekend away? No one but NO ONE deserves one more than me. 😉 Freshly divorced, and working 70+ hours a week. Yeah! And I have several friends who would love to come!

  24. My daughter has been living out of the country for the past three years. She recently had to return home due to illness. Winning this would be a dream come true! Now that she is on the road to recovery, we could get to spend time together doing something we love and catch up. Thank you so much for the chance to win. What a sweet and generous prize!

  25. Oh gosh – I’ve always wanted to visit you, Sheri, and to come to the spring fling but it’s never been possible with one kid in college and another headed there next year (I’m not complaining – I’m happy my boys love college!). I’d love to bring my buddy Lyn, who’s my best Ravelry bud and if she can’t, then my friend, Beth who first told me about TLE.

    What a generous offer! oxox

  26. Oh, it would be so fun to come up for this! And who would I bring? Hmmm… My sister or draw straws amongst a couple of knitting buddies. So hard to chose!

  27. Wow! What a treat this would be to attend Spring Fling. This is so generous! I would bring my friend Janet since she taught me how to knit.

  28. I’d love the chance to visit Colorado. It would be hard choosing just one of my Rav women to come along! I might have to take Prudence, she could probably use a break.

  29. Getting to visit Colorado and the Loopy Ewe store and meeting lots of other knitters would be a blast! I would love to bring my friend Jan along. And if she can’t come, I’d bring either Jodi, Amy or Shannon for a weekend of knitting fun!

  30. I would love a fabulous knitting trip and I would take my mom with me. I am an avid and although she’s not the greatest knitter she is a fabulous travel companion and we would love some classes to improve our skills and a fun girl trip.

  31. I’d bring my mom. We haven’t had a vacation in 10 years. We tried to come to Spring Fling a few years ago, but we didn’t both get a spot so….. no go. This would be perfect!

  32. I would love to go. I am always looking for ways to learn more about knitting. I think I would take my Mom. I have been looking for way to get her back into knitting.
