First of all, thank you for all of the wonderful comments and emails that you have sent, regarding our new Loopy Ewe Solid Series line. And thank you for all of your orders! We’ve had such a great time seeing the color combinations that you’ve picked out. You are making some really cool projects! We’re looking forward to seeing them, and we’ll be setting up a separate Photo Gallery just for your Solid Series projects on our website.
I’m still working on my Summer Cardi for the Mini Challenge. The body is almost done, so I just need to add a few more rows to the short sleeves and then do the border. In the meantime, I started a Citron out of Wollmeise Lace. (Because I wanted to be knitting Wollmeise on the day that I was sitting in Claudia’s brick and mortar shop, knitting away.) I finished that up over the weekend and have washed and blocked it. Actually, I blocked the heck out of it, because I
wanted it a bit longer. I like the way it turned out, and especially love the color. However, there is a lot of knitting in there. It seemed to go on forever and a day! The denser looking sections have had the stitches doubled, so – like I said – a lot of knitting. (Other people seem to whip these out. Apparently I don’t knit that fast.) Since Wollmeise Lace is hard to come by, you might try this pattern out of Malabrigo Lace (which is what the original pattern was done out of) or Malabrigo Sock. I think I’d like the slightly heavier sock weight. It would also be beautiful in Madelinetosh Sock or Dye Dreams Twinkle Toes.
I have two things on my “knit next” list. One, those gorgeous Norwegian Rose Socks from Wendy’s Book. I picked my colors – Malachite and Ice. Second, I want to start crocheting something hexagon-y like this (Rav link). But I want it to be lightweight and baby-sized, so I’m using our new solid line to do it. (Did you catch that? I’m going to CROCHET. Guess who took a Crochet Class at TNNA a couple of weeks ago? And guess who liked it??) Now for the blog contest question of the month – what are the next two things on your “knit next” list? Leave your answer in the comments and we’ll be giving away $30 Loopy Ewe Gift Certificates to the randomly drawn winners, next week!

Next for me is the plath cropped cardigan and either another featherweight or a prairie tunic and then later maybe a transverse cardigan. I just went a yarn binge for these projects, so I’m ready to knit for the rest of 2010!
OMG what is NOT on my list? The next two are probably lacy anklets for my sister’s birthday and then I dunno, maybe start my Girasole?
Next on my list to knit are a shawl with merino mia , and just found out that I a going to be a great aunt, so have to get busy on a baby sweater!!!
My next project will be the Ruby Slipper Socks from the Knit Outside the Sox book, and then a pair of socks in navy for my sister, either the “Ballets” in the Two-At-A-Time Toe-Up Socks book, or the Celtic Rib pattern from Lorna’s Laces.
My next is finishing socks on the needles, then Daybreak and a Clapotis in Fiord. I’m really looking forward to the Clappy especially in Fiord. I made my last one in Toast for my DD and it’s just stunning!
After I finish my Milo socks and my Agrodolce socks, I want to work on either another Yarnissima kit or my Tea Party kit for my SIP. Also, I want to work on either mitts (Transition Gloves) or a Shawl (TLE May shawl pattern). I have project ADD so my plans will probably change by tomorrow.
Baby Surprise Jacket and Ruth’s Babytop both in hand-dyed sock yarn I’ve gotten from indie dyers. Baby’s due in December, so I better get knitting!
My next project will be a cabled baby jacket. I have the yarn and needles. Just need to finish off some other projects first.
Love the Citron!!!!! It was worth all that knitting and the yarn you used is absolutely gorgeous!
My next projects:
1. Finishing the current scarf I started the other day with sock yarn
2. “Tea for Three” by Alan Dart (because you can never have too many monkeys)
I’m currently working on Monkey socks (with Opal). I think my next projects will be Pomatomus socks (with Lorna’s) and Ice Cable Mitts (with Pigeonroof). Might be a bit warm for mitts though, so maybe another pair of socks instead
My next two projects are the Barbara Shawl for Mom’s seventieth birthday and a pair of socks for me…
a baby sweater for my husband’s coworker and Hyrna Herborgar in Magnolie Dark!
I need to knit a cardigan, but can’t decide on a pattern. I probably need to buck up and design my own.
well, according to my Rav queue, the next two items are EZ’s ribwarmer and ysolda’s coraline. In reality it’s design a cabled bag for a very close friend and then choose something to knit with the yummy Fleece Artist Saldanha Lace … somehow two skeins were purchased the other week…
I have been working on the Little Lambs counting sheep baby blanket for the mystery baby arriving to my nephew & his wife but it is going to take a little hiatus. My father was signed up for hospice today & I stopped by loopy central for some nice yarn for a hat to keep his little frozen bald head warm. Now I need to knit like the wind!
Next up – a baby blanket and hat for my new granddaughter.
I’d like to have something more creative to say, but once I finish this baby blanket I’ll be knitting more socks. I love socks & I’ve got 3 pairs in progress right now. But I promised my husband a pair of cabled socks, and it’s time
to start working on my dad’s Christmas socks. He’s been hounding me to make him Texas flag socks, and that’s what I’m going to do. I’m starting well
ahead of the Xmas crunch, because when I have to finagle my own pattern there are a lot
things that can go wrong.
I’m thinking I need to cast on some of Cookie A’s Clandestine socks and some Dolce baby socks from my soon-to-arrive daughter. I might wait until she makes her appearance before choosing a color, though.
My next two projects are like heaven and the other place. The first is to spin up some fabulous BFL I was given, then to decide what to make from it. The other is a request for a sham for a huge floor pillow in a limp, scratchy, sock weight (which I fully intend to double strand!) acrylic “mohair” which is way overdue. I’ve got to stop agreeing to projects unless I find out what the yarn is in advance! Oh well, the spinning will be good therapy to see me through the pillow.
I’ll be knitting a Girasole blanket for a dear friend who just had some major surgery and the Haruni shawl for ME. Not sure what yarn I’m using for the shawl yet. I must go over and peruse TLE!
I have a very detailed cardigan to make for my daughter and a shrug for me.
My knitting New Years resolution this year was to do one pair of socks per month, so the July socks are one item on my “to do” list. Next is the minimalist cardigan from Interweave Press, in a pretty royal blue wool/bamboo blend.
Vildapplet (Wild Apples) Bohus pullover by Kerstin Olsson and Dunadd Celtic cable shawl by Alice Starmore.
My next 2 projects are another fair isle pirate hat… and a tank top. But I haven’t found the perfect tank top pattern yet and by the time I decide summer will be over.
I am planning on knitting some of my handspun into Westknits Herbivore scarf and a pair of socks for me, the Trellis Diamond Socks from More Big Girl Knits.
My next two projects I have had in mind is a throw for my new front room, I need to find a nice yarn that will match the decor and I want to knit hats for my boys for the winter.
Another Multnomah shawl (for a swap) and a vest for me that I keep putting off!
Going onto the needles are an Ishbel Shawl and Fruit Loops socks.
I am going to do the Cedar Leaf Shawlette and one of Cookie A’s sock from Sock Innovation …Angee or Sunshine.
I love using fingering weight with 3.5-4mm needles. My next projects will be the Brandywine shawl (using some stash yarn) and the Versailles Shell as a summer top.
My next project will be some socks for my daughter using leftovers from socks I made for myself. After that I plan on knitting some socks for my husband with some Bugga I scored from the Loopy Ewe!!
My husband’s nephew just found out he’s going to be a daddy this fall. I’m going to knit a baby blanket for the happy couple in their chosen colors. I’m not sure what yarn yet because I need to ask them if they have a preference (no wool, washable, etc.). And, as usual, I’m going to be starting another pair of socks – toe-up this time. I find the idea very intriguing and useful for some yarns with shorter yardage. We’ll see how this goes.
Travelling Rose Scarf is next on the list of things for me, but a friend wants me to knit an 8-bit pattern onto a hat for him (I’m thinking I may attempt to do it as a fair-isle since it’s only 3-4 colors? I’ve not done fair-isle, so I will need to look up some patterns to get ideas).
But, I also just picked up Wendy’s book and am eyeing all those sock patterns, so a sock may win over the previously stated “next projects” 😀
My list seems endless at times but my next two projects WILL be a pair of socks (pattern to be determined) and the Percy Shawlette. I always have to have socks on the needles and right now am feeling lost with only one pair going!
the next two things are gona be the second manly aran sock from tow up socks for everybody by wendy d. johnson. and then the second is going to be shawlette! haven’t decided which one yet. . maybe if win i’ll get some inspiration wink wink!
Okay, next two knit items on list are to knit Phoebe’s sweater and the mouse with matching sweater from the new children’s book Phoebe’s Sweater.
Annis and Dusk (Dusk is the new Farrow shawl associated with Isager Yarns).
I haven’t decided yet but I really want to try some colorwork, and maybe a baby project as my 3 best friends are all having babies at the end of July!
my next to knit list should be finishing up one of my many projects for my daughter, but, the doll sweaters keep getting in my way. just started a cable sweater out of skinny bugga for BJD boy doll, but I need to get back to a shawl I started for my daughter, dragon of happiness by Sharon Winsauer. This is in Wollmeise lace in dark amethyst, I know, I miss the updates, and paid dearly for the yarn on ebay so back to that neglected shawl as soon as the doll sweater is finished, and, I mow the field of weeds that is my lawn. no comfort in that, knitting is my comfort food. – Barb
Next project planned is a felted poncho with hood for my eldest who just graduated from Edinboro University with a degree in Art Education. Yeah!!! Any jobs out there???
I’m almost done with the February Lady sweater in turquoise cotton (so soft, so perfect for summer), ad I have been planning to do another Lucie sweater for a while, and now I know that yanr I’ll use — I have a bamboo bend in a hibiscuscolorway that will be ideal. So that’s 1. Then I’ll pick a pair of socks to knit from my giant list of Christmas socks, and that’s 2. Probably the Dadsocks in that foresty color blend …..
Birthday Bog Jacket for my mom and orangey socks from Meilenweit Inca for myself.
I’m thinking something cotton or bamboo next, it’s hot here, and I also have a sweater that I owe someone by October. I might have to squeeze some more lace in there too though!
My ‘to knit’ list always seems to be in flux, but the two next items are the most recent shawlette pattern in Knitty, I can’t remember the name, but it came in the most recent summer update; and then a pair of Swedish Fish socks.
Orange cabled socks for a woman I work with and purple “vanilla” socks for my niece for xmas.
Next project is going to be “Veronique” in a silk and then a varsity sweater my cousin wants. Well this isn’t a new project, more like a put back into the cycle project . Simple v-neck cardigan in cascade 220 superwash (so she won’t shrink it) in navy and orange.
Summer Solstice and Lemongrass, but don’t hold me to it ; )
I plan to knit the Pleated Ballet Flats in a pretty sock yarn, and a Wisp in cashmere/silk.
Two more pairs of socks for my FB give away where friends signed up for a handmade gift. Then I’m done after only a year!
Then I want to try a toe-up in a pattern for me.
I want to officially start my Christmas knitting with a tam for my SIL and wee little socks for my nieces.
