First of all, thank you for all of the wonderful comments and emails that you have sent, regarding our new Loopy Ewe Solid Series line. And thank you for all of your orders! We’ve had such a great time seeing the color combinations that you’ve picked out. You are making some really cool projects! We’re looking forward to seeing them, and we’ll be setting up a separate Photo Gallery just for your Solid Series projects on our website.
I’m still working on my Summer Cardi for the Mini Challenge. The body is almost done, so I just need to add a few more rows to the short sleeves and then do the border. In the meantime, I started a Citron out of Wollmeise Lace. (Because I wanted to be knitting Wollmeise on the day that I was sitting in Claudia’s brick and mortar shop, knitting away.) I finished that up over the weekend and have washed and blocked it. Actually, I blocked the heck out of it, because I
wanted it a bit longer. I like the way it turned out, and especially love the color. However, there is a lot of knitting in there. It seemed to go on forever and a day! The denser looking sections have had the stitches doubled, so – like I said – a lot of knitting. (Other people seem to whip these out. Apparently I don’t knit that fast.) Since Wollmeise Lace is hard to come by, you might try this pattern out of Malabrigo Lace (which is what the original pattern was done out of) or Malabrigo Sock. I think I’d like the slightly heavier sock weight. It would also be beautiful in Madelinetosh Sock or Dye Dreams Twinkle Toes.
I have two things on my “knit next” list. One, those gorgeous Norwegian Rose Socks from Wendy’s Book. I picked my colors – Malachite and Ice. Second, I want to start crocheting something hexagon-y like this (Rav link). But I want it to be lightweight and baby-sized, so I’m using our new solid line to do it. (Did you catch that? I’m going to CROCHET. Guess who took a Crochet Class at TNNA a couple of weeks ago? And guess who liked it??) Now for the blog contest question of the month – what are the next two things on your “knit next” list? Leave your answer in the comments and we’ll be giving away $30 Loopy Ewe Gift Certificates to the randomly drawn winners, next week!

Next for me is a vest for my Aunt and socks for family
Next for is is a Citron and a February Lady Sweater. Can’t wait!
The next two patterns in my queue are Wisp from Knitty and a February Lady Sweater made out of Kool-Aid dyed yarn.
I’ll be making the Que Sera sweater and a hat/mitten set. That is, once I cast off the three projects I already have on the needles!
Next on my list is Autumn Romance Pullover in the crochet-along on the Interweave crochet web site. It was in the fall 2007 issue. I’m going to use the Blue Sky Alpaca’s yarn 50% alpaca,50%silk in the color#146 passion fruit that I ordered from the loopy ewe, it’s sooo soft and if I can stop caressing it, I can get on with making it! Annette
A light cotton lace scarf, and probably socks.
I have been wanting to start a tee forever. And there are always too many socks to choose from. Choosing is half the problem 🙂
On deck are Anne Hanson’s Maplewing shawl and the Knittiing Pure and Simple little girl’s shrug… but I need the pattern for the latter so PLEASE get it back in stock!!!
Next on my list are the Cotty socks (or Dotty? I can’t decide) and then the other. But really, I have three languishing WIPs that I want to finish… a shop sample scarf for a friend’s new yarn shop and two birthday presents for August birthday girls I adore.
The next two items on my knit next list are the Seneca sweater by Jared Flood, which I’m going to do in Malabrigo Twist, and the Madelinetosh Honey Cowl, which I’ll do out of Madelinetosh Vintage in Logwood.
The two next things in my queue are Rusted Root and the Tea Leaves cardigan. I really should make a pair of fingerless gloves for my sister-in-law, though. Thanks for all of the inspiring yarn! I’m lusting over all of the gorgeous colors.
First of all, Sheri, that Citron is gorgeous. It makes me want to dedicate my one skein of Helen’s Lace to making a really big one for myself. But that’s way down on the list. I just found out that one of my best friends is preggers so that is the perfect excuse to knit at least one baby sweater right away. I am thinking baby Tea Leaves Cardigan out of WM, but not sure which skein to dedicate to this project. Next, I am so excited to find out that you will be carrying Tosh Merino Light because the next thing in I want to make is the Austin Hoodie–for me!
I’m only telling you what’s on my to-knit-next list if I won’t be held liable for totally changing my mind! 😉 The two projects I have balled/patterned/ready-to-go are a pair of Miss Marple socks in Sweet Paprika’s Film Noir and Sun Ra colors (I’m trying a stranded sock in self-striping yarns. We’ll see if it works…). Also ready to go is a “World’s Deadliest Crab” for my DH’s coworker’s baby with some Plymouth Encore in blue and a leftover Elann grey for the belly (I’m not exactly going for real-life color representation…)
But there’s a glass jar of inspiring yarns I don’t have patterns for yet sitting on my front entry table. No promises…. 😉
Socks, socks and socks are in my queue. A mystery sock from the ravelry solid sock group and the cool bean sock from sock madness four. I am addicted to socks!
Socks for a friend who turned 60, a sweater, hat and booties for a friend’s new granddaughter and an afghan for my college age daughter.
The next two things on my knit list is to finish my mom’s purple cardigan and finish my Lemongrass bolero before school starts. I would also like to start a Citron out of handspun.
I’m finishing a sweater made with khaki Schaffhausen sock yarn for my husband in the EZ pattern – Polperro Musician, and a child’s ski sweater in red and white worsted. I try not to start things and not finish.
Then I’ll make something for myself for the Fall.
Old projects:
Finish red socks
Finish sewing together granny square blankets
New Projects:
White mohair schrug for daughters to use for fancy dress occasions
Shawl for me from my very large stash.
My next two knits are a pair of cabled board shorties using the “Braided Britches” pattern on Rav and a KPS toddler sweater. Will probably do two of each since I am knitting for my twins!
I am starting Christmas gifts all ready! So the next items on my knit/crochet list are:
1) for my Grandpa a nice winter hat, he loves nature and hunts deer so I thought this hat would be perfect for him! Anneja’s Fornicating Reindeer found at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/basic-lined-hat-pattern-directions#
2) cowgirl hat found in the happy hooker book!
so, once I finish the cursed chocolate truffle cardigan I am going to do the Better Bucket hat by Amy Swenson for my MIL and a lace shawl, either Haruni by Emily Ross or Annis by Susanna at Knitty. I’m also itching to try another Navajo weaving, we shall see!
My next projects include knitting a coffee cup cozy for a Rav swap buddy and starting on the mittens I am making my sister for her birthday. Once those are done, I have to start my Christmas knitting!!! I feel like I am already behind.
My next two projects are Ce Ce and Sprousling. I have 2 pairs of socks going from Loopy Ewe sock club yarn. I should finish both soon so I always have a pair going so in there will be another pair of socks.
I think the crocheted Stolen Moments Wrap by Amy Swenson and the Evenstar Shawl by Susan Pandorf (just the center of it because I have a lot of UFO’s I want to finish up) are the next two on my list.
Congratulations on learning to crochet! That is awesome! Do you have some more crochet patterns that are screaming, “Make me!” at you? I like crochet, but I prefer quick projects that work up in a couple of days.
I have 3 baby gifts next on my list and a shawl.
My next 3 projects are baby blankets. I would like to have them done by Christmas.
Finish my 7 or 8 wips, then crochet 3 name pillows and 3 chess sets.
nantucket red sweater by babycocktails and a huge 5000 yard shawl kal off yahoo!
My next 2 projects are socks for my friend at work in exchange for a beautiful pair of hand beaded earrings and socks for each of my sisters.
Next to knit – I am organizing a charity knitting event at my LYS in August to make hats/mittens for refugees in my area without warm clothes. And for me – a Lightweight cardigan!
I’m finishing up a Honey Cowl and a moebius…..but after that I’m thinking a sweater, a blanket, or some colorwork. (Okay, okay I haven’t really decided!)
Ahhh, the next two things on my “knit next” list…. We’ll I’ve *just* started “Jordan” by Wendy Bernard and then I’ve promised to make a sweater (pattern/yarn as yet unidentified) for my husband. Kinda not looking forward to knitting a sweater in July….
Next is a knit stuffed turtle for a friend who is having a baby and Knee High Stripy socks for ME 🙂
WIth so many WIPS I shouldn’t be starting anything else but I can’t resist Anne Hansen’s Vine Flower Dress for our darling granddaughter and after many cuff down socks a pair of toes up ones from Wendy Johnson’s new book for me.
The next two projects I have to start are holiday gifts for my sons and their girlfriends…Matching flapover mittens or socks…I can’t decide.
I just started an Ishbel in Madtosh pashmina and have a ball of Madtosh sock yarn in Posy. I frogged it at least four times because I’m having pattern trouble. I did do Madtosh sock in Plum Tree and used the Braided Gem pattern (thanks, Sheri) so I think I might try that again because it’s tried and true. Also trying to finish an interminable scarf in Hand Maiden Swiss Mountain Sock.
Next up… an Austin Hoodie out of madelinetosh tosh merino light (so glad you’ll be carrying this!), and a shawl design I’m working on.
A cute little bride and groom set to go on our cake table for the wedding and a sweater for my niece or a sweater for me. Depends on who is cuter when I am ready to cast on 😛
My next two projects are socks, socks and more socks! I like to give each member of my immediate family something hand knit every Christmas. Ususally socks. This past Christmas I decided to make something different instead of socks. There were hats, scarves, ishbels and mittens made. I was knitting frantically through November and December because I’m a procrastinator!! On Christmas morning when everyone opened their presents I waited with anticipation on their reaction….there was silence…..I finally asked my sister don’t you like your present? The reply……”I was looking forward to my new pair of socks. You always make socks for Christmas. We all look forward to seeing what socks you made us and wearing them for the next year”. Lesson learned….knit socks as presents for family…..why change a good thing…..apparently I’ve started an annual tradition with my knitting.
As of today (no guarantees) my next two projects will be a pair of socks for my 97-year-old mother (who was quite taken with the pair I’m knitting for myself) and a vest for myself for which I have the yarn. I still have to pick yarn and colors for the socks for Mom.
My next projects are a pair of red socks and the Lady February Zimmerman sweater in a auzure blue from Dream in Color with vintage lucite buttons. The red socks will have hearts for Valentines day and any other day that I want to wear my heart on my ankle!
I am working the beautiful blue socks from the lite sock club. The yarn is sooooo soft and beautiful I will be sorry to see the project end but I want to wear the socks.
I’ve knit two Citrons. The pattern’s addicting. Next time i make one it will be out of hand spun silk. Since I just started (last week) two new projects from my “next” list I guess they’d count. I’m knitting a sweater from my hand spun and a shawl also from hand spun.
Next up for me – Girasole with some mini mochi and a V neck sweater out of Elsebeth lavold’s cotton frappe.
I’m on a Featherweight Cardi kick. Made one for my daughter, now making one for myself. We could each use a second one. On the other hand, a Girasole in solid series Lake to commemorate my first Squam experience – wonderful!
Brandywine Shawl in Dragonfly Fiber and Saroyan Scarf in Madeline Tosh and oh so many more in the queue
Heavy boot socks are always the active queue for me
.
The next two things on my to-knit-list are the lacy Tilting Tardis Cowl, made out of Malabrigo Sock in Azules colorway, and a cozy Central Park Hoodie for fall, made out of Malabrigo Worsted in Forest green.
The citron looks great! On my “knit next” list are the clapotis (talk about neverending, mindless knitting!) and felted french press slippers.
I’m finally doing a Hanami and enjoying being back to lace, so I’m putting Sabbatical at the top of the list to combine sweater and lace knitting. Second would be another lace stole but haven’t mde the final decision.
If I can ever decide on a color combo, I want to knit Wendy’s Norwegian Rose socks, and another pair of Simple Skyp socks because I enjoy the ones I just finished so much!
The next two things on my list are both Christmas gifts–socks for my younger brother (size 15 shoe so they’ll take awhile) and the Helena baby cardi for my niece.
