Good News: Spring has been springing up all week long. The trees are blooming, the daffodils are up, and the weather has been warm.
Bad News: My summertime body has not arrived yet. I keep waiting for it to show up. What is the holdup? It’s a good thing that it is supposed to snow flurry tomorrow. I have the winter body down pat. (I think I’ll eat a cookie.)
Good News: The Spring Fling is only two weeks away – can you believe it? We’re slowly but surely getting ready for all of you.
Bad News: Well, it’s not ALL of you, by any means. But we wish you could all come!
Good News: Took both cats to the vet yesterday and both are healthy. I was sure they’d tell me that Gracie
was too fat had her winter body on and needed to exercise more. She’s a mere 10 lbs and in perfect health. (Zoe is a petite 6 lbs, 4 oz – no wonder Gracie seems so big to me.)
Bad News: The vet bill. sigh. (Also bad news: two cat photos in two posts in a row. But she’s awfully darned cute.)
Good News: We did some major re-stocking today – did you catch it? Travel Mugs are back in stock, along with more Shibui Knits (and some of their new patterns), Araucania, Cherry Tree Hill, The Alpaca Yarn Co. Paca Peds, Bee Bars, knitting accessories, new Offhand Designs bags, Namaste Messenger Bags, Cotton Panda, and more.
Bad News: Still more boxes of yarn and things to go up next week. (Or is that good news?)
Good News: Starbucks still has good coffee.
Bad News: They made their cups brown. I miss the green. (Two new yarn lines in the photo, just to make you wonder…. They’re scheduled to arrive in a few weeks.)
Good News: The “Don’t Be Blue” sock kits are ready to ship! Click here if you’re eligible for one.
Bad News: They’re just available (while supplies last) to those who signed up for the sock club this year and didn’t get in. (What happens if you try to buy one and you weren’t really on the list? A hand comes out from your computer screen and pinches you on the nose.)
Good News: So many of you have emailed to tell us how much you like the special Loopy Groupie Appreciation Gift that we have been sending out this week.
Bad News: “LG Appreciation Time” runs through Tax Day and mostly there’s nothing good about Tax Day.
Good News: I found my perfect pair of shoes – they show off handknit socks and they make my size 11 feet look smaller. (No small
feet feat.) It’s a Dansko Merrie. (Socks are Fiesta Boomerang. We do have a large order in with the – they’re just backordered on Boomerang at the moment. We’ll keep you posted.)
Bad News: With Spring here, sock-wearing weather is almost gone in Missouri until the fall.
Good News: My friend Monica gave me the DVD August Rush that I like so much. I think I’ll knit and watch it tonight.
Bad News: I have so much knitting that I want to do, that it’s gonna take more than one movie (or five) to knock it out.
Good News: I had time to knit last night.
Bad News: But I didn’t get one stitch done because Knitting Daughter and WH and I spent so much time laughing and going through the pages of photos on this website.
Good News: Possum Sock Yarn from Cherry Tree Hill. (80% Superwash Merino, 20% New Zealand Possum.) Wow.
Bad News: It won’t be available for awhile, but I have one of the sample skeins from Cheryl at Cherry Tree and it’s really a fun yarn base. Just thought I’d give you a sneak peak at a unique new sock yarn base that they will be offering for a limited time this summer.
Sheri anygoodnews/badnewsyouwanttosharewithus?
Good news: Received the amazing Don’t Be Blue Kit
Bad news: Still working on taxes, so I really should not wind the yarn.
Really.
I shouldn’t.
Ahem.
Addenda (because we all knew it was too good to be true, didn’t we?).
😀
Good news: My BFF Liz is the bestest BFF ever! My Stricken Dragon Slayer socks are going to be glorious!
Bad news: I have to defer starting those until after I finish about three other WIPs.
Good news: I got a new job, and thus ends the shortest lay off scare in the history of the universe.
Bad news: I have to say good-bye to all my friends at my current job, never mind no more trips to The Company Store…
Good news: As BFF Liz pointed out, there will be new people to impress with my knitting and crocheting prowess.
Bad news: I’m losing my lunch group. (But I get a window!)
OK. Now I’m REALLY done! 😎
I’m curious…..how do you shear a possum?
Good news: Sheri gave us a gift for losing the lottery, and I don’t have to be blue (or green w/ envy).
Bad news: nah, not necessary
Thank you Sheri!
hi sheri,
my good news is really great news: hubby is doing really well right now!!
bad news: i live with a winter body year round! ( ;
i think the wool/possum yarn sounds so interesting. i always love seeing zoe and gracie. our spring is behind compared to you but it’s coming along. daffodils are still buds for us. have a great week. hugs to you all.
Good news: We found a great used Honda for our son to use back and forth to school, being sold by a friend of ours, so we knew it was a good car.
Bad news: It got stolen (even though it was locked and a 1992 with a spot of body putty) from right in front of our house overnight.
Good news: He wasn’t in it.
Bad news: Some of his (gulp) textbooks and notebooks were.
Good news: I’m an LG.
Bad news: After filing taxes, buying a car and now having to buy another one, I have no money to buy yarn…so no LG appreciation gift that I hear is so great.
Good news: I have a $30 Starbucks giftcard that I had forgotten about.
Bad news: After it is gone, no Starbucks till we’ve paid for another car.
Good news: My College Guy has found a job near school for the summer, as well as a possible internship.
Bad news: He’s not coming home for the summer. Actually that’s my worst news.
I think I should quit before I think of anything else!
Y’know what?
Sock yarns may not count as stash, but stash yarns don’t count as socks, either!
Good News: I’ll be in St. Louis this weekend.
Bad News: I’m a chaperone on a choir field trip so no time to stop by the Loopy Ewe.
Best News: I’ll be there 4 days later anyhow for the Fling!
Good news: Started the Heere Be Dragone shawl, and the Chewy Spaghetti laceweight is working great — a tiny bit of color change, but so subtle that it doesn’t interfere with the pattern.
Bad news: I’m only on the first chart page of ten.
Good news: Almost done with the heels on my furthest-along pair of socks, and ready to dive into the gusset.
Bad news: We aren’t talking about the other two pairs that are just toes, plus the pair that’s been sitting for a year and a half.
Good news: My son is in a pleasant and huggy mode.
Bad news: Occasionally this interferes with my typing ;-).
Good news: Only about 8-10 more weeks left of being pregnant!
Bad news: Only about 8-10 more weeks left of sleep!
CTH wants me to knit with possum? Even with an Aussie accent I’m having a hard time wrapping my head around that one.
Good news: The Customer postponed our software delivery for a month. That means I didn’t have to work all weekend and could knit!
Bad news: DS was sick all night Saturday night and into Sunday. Washed the sheets three times in one night.
Good news: Got two more chemo caps done for my cousin.
Bad news: My cousin needs chemo caps.

GN: I finally got the lace pattern figured out, ie I use a ruler to keep where i am. Now how many years has it been since i knit lace, it is feeling ike eons right now.

GN: I have a sisteratheart who really loves me
BN: she has to listen to my meltdowns
GN: Drum music sooths the soul, and i found ustad nusrat fateh ali khan on the internet for free download.

Leave it to the internet – now I officially know more people with the same foot size as me than people who have smaller feet! Love the shoes, may have to get a pair myself!
Good News: I went to the website lolcatz. 🙂
Bad News: I almost forgot to come back and finish reading your post. 🙁
Good News: I just got the the LG’s heads up email.
Bad News: I now have to figure out how to tell my husband that I really did need to spend that much, especially the day after we paid our taxes.
Good News: I just came back from a wonderful (knitting) vacation at BMFA Sock Camp!
Bad News: I had to come BACK from the wonderful (knitting) vacation! (Where I met Capi, by the way; tell her Cathy-Cate says “Hi!” when you see her at the Spring Fling!) And tell Laurie B “Hi!” too from her fellow Cotton Commando! And of course, greetings to Wendy, who is kindly letting me test knit her lovely Diamonds and Purls shawl! I would have been *at* the Spring Fling had I not already made a commitment with my knitting girlfriends to go to the Midwest Masters in Neenah, Wisconsin the same weekend! Next year? )
Bad News: I missed a Sneak-up.
Good News: You snuck in a Pre-Spring Fling Sneak-up! And I happened to be online right around the time the email went out, apparently!
Bad News: Many many blogs to catch up on.
Good News: I read fast. In catching up with your blog, I got to read L-B’s interview AND I saw the “Don’t Be Blue” Sock Kit announcement! And I’m eligible!
What a sweet idea! I’ve ordered mine! : )
That’s Good News!
