Wednesday

Hi there! First of all, a big big thank you to all of you who are so wonderful and kind and encouraging, even when you miss Wollmeise again! So many of you wrote order notes that just brightened our day! (Ok – brightened our night. We were working on orders late into the night!) We really appreciate your business and your kindness. Please know that we’re getting these out as fast as possible, but it does take an extra day or two during Sneak Ups. 🙂

I did feel the need to address something in the blog. While 98% of you have been wonderful, 2% of you are not happy. I know it’s disappointing to be watching the website for something, and then miss it. If I had my way, we’d just announce the time and day we were adding new products, and you wouldn’t have to pay such close attention to things here! But remember, we don’t do that because so many hop on and shop at once, that it has killed the website. We have tested the web capacity by having daytime Sneak Ups these last couple of times, and for the most part it works ok. (A couple of glitches yesterday when people checked out simultaneously with the last skeins of something, but we’re figuring out ways around it for the future.) But it doesn’t work ok enough to pre-announce again. This is just the way we have to work it. It’s not a “marketing ploy” or something meant to create stress – it’s the most efficient and effective way for us to update the website on a regular basis, for you.

We also order a lot. I have tried to generically reassure you of that in past blog posts, but I still had someone wonder this morning why I don’t order more yarn: “Why don’t you just order enough so you can stock it? Or is making an artificially high demand more profitable for you?” Now that just makes me a bit cranky. (Or maybe it makes me a lot cranky.) We have not, nor will we ever, artificially do anything here for profitability. I don’t believe in it, and it doesn’t work, anyway, even if your values allowed you to do something like that. We order the maximum amount that our indie dyers can produce, and we get orders from them as often as they can dye them up for us. Period. Remember, these are wonderfully talented individuals doing all of this on their own. There is only so much that they can produce. We had 330 skeins of Wollmeise yesterday, gone in 2 hours. (I can see when the last skein was sold.) We had 340 patterns from Wendy. She is sending me 450 more on Friday, just because she has printed her heart out all week long and was able to get a bit more done! (She doesn’t want to do it by pdf. You can check her blog last week for her reasoning, which I happen to agree with.) We also get 350-500 skeins of Dream In Color per order, every single month, and I know those sell out usually in a day. We have regular standing orders with all of our dyers and most all of our “main” yarn companies, just to insure that we keep getting great yarn in here for you, all the time. By having a good number of indie dyers, it insures that new batches from at least a few of them will be in every week or two, even if the one you were waiting on, sold out quickly. We will continue to do our very very best to serve you well and keep you supplied. This business is extremely important to us, and we take it very seriously. Now that I have attached numbers to some of these things, maybe it will help more of you to understand that it’s not a matter of not ordering enough. We order the maximums. The demand is high for many of these yarns/patterns, and we will continue to get stock in to fill it – as often as possible, and as much as possible.

There. Cranky rant is over. Back to packing up your orders and sending them on their way with hugs and many thanks to each one of you. 98% of you are just the best! 🙂

  1. There’ll always be a few sour grapes, but I hope the hundreds of good comments will help you forget about them. You rock, Sheri–don’t you forget it!

I’d help you pack orders, but I think getting my clothes laundered is at higher priority…even if I don’t want it to be. =) But actually, if you need extra help on Wednesday afternoons after/during Sneak Ups I would be delighted to do it–I don’t work on Wednesday nights anymore.

  2. I’m glad you posted your rant. Sometimes you just need to get things like that off your chest and ranting to all of us here that love you and your store is the best way to get back the positive reinforcement you may need.

Why is it though that you can get 100 great reviews but then the 2 negative ones are what get stuck in your head & you can’t forget them? It shocks me to no end that people could accuse you of trying to make an artificial demand when you have no control over how much a dyer sends you of their product.

I’m thrilled with your store, your products and the system you have in place. Don’t change a thing!!

  3. What’s that old saying? You can please some of the people all the time, but you can’t please all the people all the time. So stop worrying about it. I love Loopy and the customer service is the bomb!

Don’t worry about the whole cart issue. Sneak ups are not the time to leisurely shop. Yarn shopping rushes are the best! Keep the yarny-crack coming! You’ll continue to be my favorite dealer. 🙂

  4. I think half the fun is chasing the yarn/pattern/accessory… stalking it if you will. Seeing if you can get your hands on it. It makes it so worth the wait and the effort. Yes, instant gratification would probably be even better but we need to find the bright side to things like this 🙂

  5. I missed the Wollmeise yesterday, too. There will be more. I’m not concerned at all.

Add me to those who think The Loopy Ewe–and you and your staff–are incredible.

How can anyone complain? Gorgeous yarns are appearing weekly. Now I’m wondering what will be in the next Sneak Up!

  6. Shari, the fact that you are upset about some of your customers complaining says a lot about you. It is just another sign that you do care about your knitters. There are so many businesses these days that could care less if their customers are pleased or not and this could care less attitude is not limited to the “Big Box” stores.

It think it is good that you explained that you do order the maximum your boutique dyers can supply; perhaps that has created a better understanding.

Thank you for caring about us,
    Mary Pat

  7. When I read your blog today, I got cranky for you. I’ve shopped with you since the beginning of TLE. We’ve had several phone and email conversations over the last year. I’ve been privileged enough to visit the Loopy Room and spend time with you in person and meet the wonderful Knitting Daughter. You are a person of great integrity; you live your life, raise your family, and run your business according to your strong values. It disturbed me to hear that someone has questioned your ethics. I hope that all the support you have gotten so far and all that is surely forthcoming will dispel the negative comments you have gotten. You, your incredible family and wondeful staff are truly amazing. Thanks for running such a fabulous business. It brings joy to so many of us!!

  8. I appreciate all the effort that you go through to find quality yarns (BTW have you seen the new Handmaiden Sock Yarn?) and getting the most skeins that you possibly can. Everyone of the yarns that you stock is awesome so even if I lose a skein of Woolmeise out of my cart, I know that I can find another great yarn. This combined with your great customer service, fun contests, and interesting blog is why I remain a diehard groopie. You need to treat yourself to a Pumpkin Latte for all your hard work! I hope you have a great “fall” day, and get to leave the house at least for a little while and get some knitting done.

  9. You know what? I’m sure Wollmeise is fabulous – I wouldn’t know because I’ve never managed to snag any – but it’s just yarn. Right now, everyone is buzzing over it and those that don’t have any feel like they are left out of the party. But it’s just yarn, not a social status symbol. If I never get any Wollmeise, I will still continue to knit and the world will continue to spin.

I have so many gorgeous yarns in my stash. It’s not as though one particular brand of yarn is going to make me lose 10 lbs., whiten my teeth, and pay off my credit cards. It’s just yarn. I’ll use to to make lovely socks and they will make me happy, but yarn is not magic. I’m just saying. 2%ers out there? A little perspective, maybe?

Sheri, you’ve got the best customer service of any online store. Not just yarn sellers, but ANY online store. I know you work very hard at running an excellent business. Thank you for explaining the numbers and facts around the indie dyer & Sneak Up issues. There are only so many things a business owner can control. You do your best to make your customers happy and shopping at TLE is an absolute pleasure.

    – from one of the happy 98%

  10. I want to agree with everyone on here. I love your site, your blog and your products. I know I can get almost all of them at various other websites, but I choose to get my yarn through you. Ya know why??? Your customer service is wonderful, your down to earth attitude on your blog is wonderful and the selection on your site is….won..er, amazing. Never had a glitch, and if I did I’m positive it would be resolved with no trouble. Cheer up, love…its the good with the bad. Its all part of business. You always do your best and that, in itself, is enough because it shows in everything you do here. (People just get frustrated when they can’t get what they want..when they want it. They’ll get over it, trust me. ) Carry on! 😉

  11. I placed 3 separate orders yesterday.

    The first for Woolmeise
The second Zen String Pumpkin King and Heartstrings Lace pattern
The third Fiesta Baby Boomerand in Alaska and Heartstrings Lace pattern

I find that by doing that you can usually get what your yarn heart craves. I did find that PayPal was running a little slow on the log in – I don’t know if that was on the PayPal end or the Loopy Ewe flood of yarn buyers. Each order took about a minute to complete.

I had to buy the Fiesta in Alaska on 9/11/07 as on 9/11/08 we will be flying to Anchorage to begin two weeks of touring and cruising. I will be wearing my Alaska sock on the plane, if you know of a sock pattern named Alaska please let me know.

  12. I just took a break to read your blog. I’m currently up to my elbows in dye and yarn. Although there may be validity to some of the complaints, those who gripe should spend a day working with one of the indie dyers. Then they would completely understand that there’s a limit to the amount one human can produce. (I think that goes for packing and shipping orders, too.)

Some of us have other issues…pregnancy, f’rinstance (congrats, Georgia!) or family stuff. I have fibromyalgia. Hand dyeing yarn is extremely physical, labor intensive work. I can dye one day, then it’s likely that I’ll have to take it easy for a while before I can get back to it.

Sheri, I think that you run your business with integrity and honesty. I appreciate how kind and encouraging you’ve been to me personally this summer (see? Surgery. Totally threw off my dyeing schedule. Bet other dyers have been through stuff this summer too..) I am honored to have my yarn at The Loopy Ewe, and like the others, try to keep the flow as even as possible. Sometimes it just doesn’t work out the way we’d like. You have excellent customer service, yes, but you’re every bit as excellent with your vendors too. You recognize that we’re just human and stuff happens. Thank you so very much.

As far as time of day and notification of SneakUp are concerned, I don’t see that it seems to matter.

I *still* haven’t been able to get any Wollemeise.

    ~Hugs~

  13. Sheri & Crew (including the fabulous indy dyers and pattern creators) – Thank you. You all rock, and I’m grateful to have a place that I can order so many different items from. You’ve been more than fair in how you stock (in my opinion) – sometimes it’s easier on the West Coast, sometimes easier on the East.

Love from a very happy customer in Maryland! (who didn’t order Wollemeise, but could have)

  14. Sheri, you’re the best! It’s insane how many addictions to indie-dyed-sock-yarn you are feeding, and you do a fantastic job. Although I was disappointed when I missed the last Sneakup, I understand that the Wollmeise can only dye so many skeins at once to send you in a month, and I know you do your best at restocking. Besides, isn’t the rarity of the yarn part of the reason we love the indie dyers so much? Would we all be clamoring just as loudly for Dream in Color if we could all pick it up at the local drugstore?

And yay Wollmeise lace yarn! I was so excited when I read that I did a little happy dance in my office chair!

  15. I had a lot of fun yesterday putting yarn in my cart and watching it disappear…because I knew I wasn’t actually going to buy any! I’m saving for a spinning wheel, and I have Wollmeise in my stash already, so I figured I would leave it there. As Wendy said in her blog a little bit ago, it wasn’t so long ago that you couldn’t get your mitts on a skein of Apple Laine, and now that’s almost always available. It’s too bad that the 2% get under your skin, but isn’t that the way it always is with negativity…it’s so diluted! Keep your chin up! Your customer service and shop are fab and I love, love, love it!

  16. I gotta say, that even though things sell out fast- and believe me, I had no idea about the actual NUMBERS that were involved till this post- I’m pretty much of the opinion that with all the ordering you do, at least I know that things WILL come back in stock and that I’ll have another chance. I’m not beyond waiting, you know?

I’m also a bit shocked at the sheer numbers. Wow. Really crazy!

  17. Hi, Sheri! I certainly understand your situation, and I try not to be cranky (I would never complain)… I did just about cry when I noticed that the Wollmeise wasn’t in the “coming in soon” section of the home page, so I knew I’d missed it. It’s not like I don’t have 47 socks worth of yarn waiting for me at home, but somehow I just *need* to have more – as you should know, since you send most of it to me! 😉

I’ll just keep on trying, and I’ll surely find other things to order in the meantime!

  18. I was a little slow gettting over to the Sneak-Up so I did miss the Wollmeise and while it did make me a bit sad ; ) I wasn’t cranky, I promise! I just figure I’ll get some eventually and it’s something fun to look forward to. Not like I don’t have any other sock yarn around here!

  19. You already know what I think. 🙂

Last time I missed the Wollmeise, this time I didn’t, but I still didn’t get the color I wanted the most. I guess I think of it like a vacation. You can’t do or see it all, so leave a little something for next time. Who knows? You may find something better than the thing you were sad you missed.

  20. Sheri–you are a wonderful person and a fabulous business woman and I love everything about the Loopy Ewe. Don’t let all those cranks get to you. No matter what you do, there will always be some unhappy people. Love, Nancy

  21. One thing I’ve learned about you Sheri, is that you would never do anything just in order to manipulate the demand for your yarn. You have demonstrated so many times that your prime goal is to make us, your customers, happy, and you go out of your way to do that, even at times at your own expense. So thank you! The Loopy Ewe is definitely the best yarn store around!
I was interested to find out that the order comment field is used at times to leave nice messages. I wanted to do that before but figured it was only for business-related matters. Now I will be free to make those enthusiastic comments, too.

  22. I’m sorry crankiness is ensuing! I missed the Wollmeise that I wanted yesterday. Checked as soon as I got home from work (unlike office-dwellers, I, as a nanny, chase a child rather than sit at a computer, so I cannot check at work… which may be good for my wallet!), but it was ALL gone. I told DH about it and he said, “Why don’t you start your own yarn business, then?” He wants me to make money off knitting, rather than spend it 😉 Anyway… I figure I’ll get the Wollmeise eventually! This is the second time I missed it, and third time’s the charm, right? No reason to be cranky, I think, because it’s not like no more will ever be had ever. And it’s not like I don’t have enough yarn to knit up 😉 I want to thank you for putting your heart into this business. You really care about your customers, and that just doesn’t happen much anymore, especially in retail. The knitting community makes me all fuzzy inside!

  23. I don’t mind sneak-ups. I sort of love the “chase” as much as I enjoy the yarn. If you announced, there would be ever more “stealing” out of carts! If everyone was on at once it would still be a mad house. When you are dealing with a mob there is no “great” way to handle them!

Also, I think that you are doing a great job and I can’t believe that people don’t have better things to concern them than how you run your business. If they knew how wonderful you are and how hard you worked to please us/them I think they would eat a sentence or two.

  24. For the comment about the loopy groupies getting advanced notice… we don’t. We get a notice when the update actually goes live, not in advance. So if you can’t get to your email (asleep, gone out, at work, etc) then you’re just as in the dark the ‘regular’ folks. it’s not like we have a date and time at which to hop on, and thusly beat you all to it.

By the way, I didn’t get anything this time either… I know a lot of the complaints just come out of ignorance, or sadness, or just plain frustration, but ultimately it’s because they ALL want your products, Sheri. I can only hope that some of these smaller dyers (those who WANT to go ‘pro’) will get enough business through you to do that!

And 2% folks… I understand your feelings, but try to remember the difference between constructive criticism and just complaining. One can help a business owner (sometimes) and one can p!ss her off. 😉

  25. Sheri and Crew,

Thanks for everything you do! I have really appreciated the little treats you’ve sent and those extra touches are what has kept me coming back! I wanted Wollmeise, too but i am perfectly willing to wait because I was able to snag some Fiesta and good things come to those who wait!!! Keep up the great work but don’t forget to stop and get that Pumpkin Spice latte every now and then!

  26. Sheri,
I really don’t know what I could say that isn’t in total echoe of practically all the comments. I think that you do an absolutely wonderful job with The Loopy Ewe. There is no way anyone could ever tell that it’s only been just over a year. I’ve never had a place with customer service like yours and I am so thrilled to have found you. I love the fact that you’re in constant rotation of indie dyers so there’s always something new. Having all the same yarns always in stock is just…boring. I hope that these comments are all brightening your day because you certainly deserve it *hugs*

  27. Poor Sheri. After all that hard work to have complaints like that, must have been a final straw kind of thing. But actually, a 2% complaint rate is pretty low nowadays I think. I mean, that’s probably the same as the general population “ain’t never gonna be happy no matter what, so you might as well ignore them” rate.

Something I learned early on when I missed things because other folks got there first: The thing to do when you miss something is make a note of it for next time, or if you absolutely, positively have to have it right then, Google is your friend. There are other sources for most things if it’s that important to you.

I personally prefer to wait for Sheri to get it back in because I think the service at the Loopy Ewe is just marvelous.

  28. Have I missed yarns I wanted? Sure. Have I survived…you betcha!!! I just found something else to order or went back to knitting from stash, knowing I would try to get the out-of-stock item next time. Sheri you do a fabulous job with an on-line shop. For years I have been shopping on-line (formerly) for counted cross stitch and now for yarn. It is a very rare occasion that I order yarn from anyone but you. As a former yarn shop employee in PA, I am a VERY customer service oriented person and your service is top-notch.

There always have to be complainers. Come on gang, there is plenty of yarn and patterns. Let’s give Loopy Sheri and the Loop-ettes a break? OK….

  29. Just wanted to say that I LOVE the sneak-ups. I love seeing what I can get in my cart and what disappears before I check out. Personally I think it is great that other people enjoy the same yarn/colours that I do.

Before I found TLE I was buying yarn from several different places and now I only buy from TLE. The selection, customer service and personal touch make shopping here a truly wonderful and FUN experience.

I did manage to get 2 skeins of the wollemeise yesterday but I picked them because of the colours not the brand. I hope the 2% learn to just have fun shopping here because otherwise they are missing out.

And I do believe yesterdays order makes me a Loopy Groopie! Now where else do people shop that they get this excited about having frequent shopper status?

  30. Sheri–

Everyone else has said it already, but I’m sorry about the 2%. You and the team do a great job. I’m a Groupie, but I just like to sit back and watch the madness. I prefer shopping at a more leisurely pace anyway!

Don’t tempt me about coming to help pack packages–Tulsa ain’t that far away from you!

  31. Sheri,

One of the things about a shop like yours…there are people who go out of their way to buy Starbucks coffee and there are people who settle for the corner McDonalds. You provide a service that no one else does, or at least not as well. You have a constantly changing supply of indie dyers that allows us, the consumers, to pick up one of a kind works of art that show us the creativity of the artist, because that is what each of the skeins that an idie dyer puts up is.

Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you aren’t doing everything that you can to provide the best there is to us. You give the people that shop with you the chance, at least once a week, to engage in a treasure hunt of fibery proportions. You don’t always find exactly what you were aiming for, but you can always find some kind of treasure worth keeping and scrambling for. The sneak ups are huge FUN!! I had to steal the computer from my DH when the email came for the heads up. I knew that if I didn’t take it from him, I would miss out on the Wollmeise that I wanted, and I wouldn’t be able to get the Wendy patterns that I wanted. Because I was able to do it quickly and I already knew what I wanted from having missed them earlier, I dashed in, got the yarn, Wendy patterns and a couple other items and was out, all in under 10 minutes.

And you know what….next sneak up, I won’t have to be so quick cuz I got the yarn I wanted this time and I got patterns from Wendy. But if you blink, you miss out and people should realize that that is part of the fun of shopping where the service is superb and the yarns are stupendous.

Thank you for all you do!

  32. First you are doing a wonderful job! It know for a fact it is hard to keep up with orders of any kind, but when you get orders like you do (selling out of over 1,000 skeins if yarn in ONE DAY) is just mind blowing. I also know how hard and how much work goes into dyeing like your indie dyers have to do to keep you stocked up.

I don’t know why anyone would be nasty about not getting yarn. That’s just how it goes. I am really happy to have found you, and to have found a shop who supports us indie dyers and crafters, and us women (and men, like yarn nerd)

Love ya Sheri and keep up the good work!

  33. What can I say Sheri that hasn’t already been said. You are the best. Since I have shopped at TLE you have always given the best. You certainly know my feelings about this complaining. Just try to ignore it. Here after I would not even give an explanation. They just don’t deserve it. I feel like you have become a personal friend and I can’t stand to see you upset over the cranks. Hugs

  34. Sheri and Crew: I just want to thank each of you for all you do to keep us deeply entrenched in such beautiful sock yarn! I have become a faithful follower of your webshop and look forward every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to a wonderful blog entry from Sheri. Please don’t let anyone’s hostile comments get you down. Some people are never happy no matter what. We love you and are so thankful for all the hard work that you all do. The yarns and patterns are beautiful. I am sure you are doing this because it is fun, so don’t let some old whine-babies take the joy from you. Thanks again for all you do!!!

  35. I’ve missed yarns and grabbed them later. No big deal. Most of us have more yarn than we will ever use anyway. Just look at most of the queues on Ravelry. I think you and your crew are miracle workers. Just bringing together all of those fab indy dyers under one roof is amazing. And I would much rather buy from the indies than the big companies. Don’t let the naysayers get to you. Major hugs. And did I hear that there is soon to be a new addition to the mug collection?

  36. Sheri ~

I love The Loopy Ewe! You and everyone at TLE do an outstanding job. Your customer service, personal notes, fun gifts and of course the yarn, patterns and accessories keep me coming back. I really don’t shop anywhere else 🙂 And I mention your site to someone at least once a day. I didn’t get to check my email for the notice of the sneak-up, but happened to check your site before leaving for a class at my LYS and found the sneak-up in progress. I was able to get great patterns from Wendy, but checked out before the Wollmeise came up on my computer. I didn’t cry a river…eventually I’ll get some 🙂 It’s not like I’d use it the minute I got the yarn in my house. You’ve provided me with some great yarns. Now, I have to go get busy knitting so I can buy more. Just think 98% love you!!!

Kristi ~your loopy fan in Ohio

  37. Sheri,

I’m sorry about the angry 2%. I can definitely understand the frustration of waiting around for a particular yarn only to have it snapped up before one can get to it, but you know what? There will always be more. There will be enough for everyone, eventually. And really, it’s not the end of the world.

I for one am truly amazed at all the things that you (and all your lovely Loopy helpers) have done to make the Loopy Ewe such a wonderful business. That’s a LOT of yarn and orders that you have to deal with on a daily basis, and if it were me I wouldn’t even know where to begin! I mean, you are even cleaning the post office out of boxes! So please don’t let the grumpsters get you down, you are doing a FABULOUS job. =)

  38. I think every one at Loopy Ewe does a wonderful job!! Yeah I miss out sometimes but the one SUPER important thing to me is that these indie dyers are super special offering individual art work for us all to enjoy. And I think for the most part are CHINA FREE!! I keep missing out on Wendy’s patterns, but hey I will hit it just right soon!!
I am anxious to get the baby Boomerang. I loved working with the other Boomerang so know I will this also.

  39. Wow Sheri – I missed the Wollmeise and I’m not angry. I’m just looking forward to the next time! Don’t fret the few. Zillions of us love your customer service skills and recognize them for just that! Thanks for taking such good care of us and offering what we want while making it just so much fun!

  40. Sheri – I adore your website and your blog! You truly go above and beyond and I feel I get always get outstanding service. While I have only ordered from you a few times, I look forward to buying much more in the future. I get excited when something fun is online that I had wanted. Keep your chin up and know that you are AWESOME! Thank you for all you do 🙂

  41. I think my budget would like it if I missed Sneak Ups a lot more often that I catch them. 😉

I will echo everyone else, and say that I think you do a wonderful job, and that’s why I continue to shop with you – the products I want with excellent customer service and nice perks, too! I do hope people continue to offer suggestions on what would make things a better shopping experience for them, and it sounds like you welcome those, but there’s a thin line sometimes between suggestions and unconstructive criticism, and I think that’s undeserved. Just like your indie dyers, you’re a small operation and we should respect that and be happy for all the time/commitment you put in!

    Thanks again!

  42. I am happily amidst the 98% of happy delighted customers and friends!!! I have been in both camps — missed things I wish I’d have seen earlier and had good timing, getting little goodies I adore. Its sort of the fun of it, and you prove to continue to tempt us with more goodies so often, that I can’t imagine getting crabby about it all. Its all good! Its the most delightful online shopping I’ve found, and I do dabble! You’ve created such a unique community of like minded folks — no room for crabby!!! Thank you so much for continuing to provide such a wonderful personal experience every time I’m here, even though you grow and grow!! Its great to see how others have found you and I’m glad that its easy for 98% to make more noise than 2%!!

    ^..^

  43. Impatient, insensitive people? Maybe they have an evil twin. Give the twin a name and a time out. Obviously, the vast majority of us think you are TERRIFIC and are doing a fabulous job! Many thanks!

  44. Please don’t be cranky Sheri!!! 🙂

I missed out on the Wollmeise this time. But, like you told me, it’s not like it’s the last time you’ll have it – and you made my husband very very happy that I did not get any more yarn!!! 🙂 he’s such a grump…

    next time, definitely!

  45. I posted earlier but was reading some of the comments-someone made the comment of not being able to be a Loopy Groupy because it was unaffordable. With six purchases, wouldn’t she be able to do six purchases of just a skein each? I don’t recall the exact requirements. I just became a Groupy recently-yes, I did have a couple of large orders but some were not. Get over it people… Yes, I got an email for the update but never saw it-just happened to check Loopy before I even got emails. It’s all supposed to be fun, isn’t it??

  46. I think all of my original six orders were only 1 or 2 skeins, max. Granted, minimum it’s a $150 investment, but you don’t HAVE to be a groupie (it goes up at the same time for all of us, after all) and it’s like a store punchcard. They don’t just give you the free bagel/coffee/whatever just because you’re so nice, but because you’ve given them a certain amount of business beforehand. (THough I have gotten a free bagel for being nice… *grin*)

  47. I think you do a great job too! Yarn is wonderful and beautiful and I do buy a lot, (especially during the sneak ups), but it isn’t the most important thing in life (I may get mean comments for that statement, but it’s true in my life anyway). You have so many dyers with beautiful yarn that I can’t imagine why anyone would be upset… I know I personally have a big enough stash that I don’t have to have anything rightthisseccond! Thank you for your wonderful shop and service:-)

  48. It’s too bad that there are complainers in this world. It really makes it more unhappy with the rest of us who have to deal with them. They need to go work in an indy dyers shop to see how it really works so they get an idea of what really happens. It’s not like they can just crank it out for everyone all the time like the HUGE yarn companies.

Thank you Sheri, for all of the work you, your family, and your helpers put into TLE and keeping everyone updated.

  49. I’m sorry you get rude people complaining about your business. I think I can speak for the 98% in saying that we appreciate all the effort you go to in getting all of our favorite yarns in one place. I wonder if people realize that most of the dyers will sell to the public if they want to track them down. Of course Claudia’s website is down, so no Wollmeise. But if they do try to shop from those dyers, they will find out that even when they update THEIR sites, the yarns sell out within an hour or two (I am thinking of Zen String). And do those dyers give us $25 back when we spend a lot? No, they do not. And do those dyers send us candy? I haven’t gotten any from anyone except you. So the 98% love you and appreciate your hard work.
