Lorna’s Laces, Another Crafty Girl, Shibui, Moda, and More!

South Shore The Loopy EweHappy Monday to you! We’ve just added new things in our Monday Update. New tonight, you’ll find:

Lorna’s Laces Solemate – a fingering weight base that is 55% Superwash Merino, 15% Nylon and 30% Outlast. (Outlast is a material that NASA uses in space. It absorbs heat when things are too hot and releases the heat back when things are too cold. That makes this yarn perfect for hands, feet, necks and heads!) 425 yards per skein. (Shown here in South Shore.)

Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock – a fingering weight yarn that is 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon, with 430 yards in the skein. Shepherd Sock is great for socks, but also for shawls and scarves. And the colors are always fun!

I'm a Potato The Loopy EweAnother Crafty Girl’s Strong Sock – a new indie dyer for us! Sarah dyes up her beautiful colorways in Chicago, and we are thrilled to have her line here at The Loopy Ewe. Strong Sock is a fingering weight yarn that is 80% superwash merino and 20% nylon, with 400 yards in the skein. Perfect for socks, shawls, scarves, hats and mittens. You’ll even find a few Halloween-ish colorways in this batch. (Shown here in I’m a Potato. Clearly you need to buy that just because of the inventive name.) 🙂

Shibui Knits Pebble – a laceweight yarn that is light, airy, and irresisteibly soft. The base is 48% silk, 36% wool, and 16% cashmere, with 224 yards to the skein. Wonderful for sweet laceweight shawls, scarves and cowls.

Moda Potluck The Loopy EweModa Fabrics Pot Luck – fun solids, flowers, little chicks, and small patterns in yellows, oranges, lime greens, aquas, cherries, and mixes. (Shown here.)

Timeless Treasures Fabric Tonga Batiks – more gorgeous batiks, this time focusing on deep aquas and teals in the Atlantis series.

Riley Blake Fabric Basic Shades – a few more additions in their semi-solid Shades line.

Have fun picking out some new things, and we’ll get your Boxes of Fun shipped off asap!

Cascade, HiyaHiya, Knitter’s Pride, and Moda Fabrics

Cascade 220 The Loopy EweHappy Columbus Day to those of you in the U.S.! (We were out of the shop today, since it’s a No Mail Monday. I worked on …. a sweater! Can you believe it? That’s all I’m going to say about it until it is finished. And it will get finished.) Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to those of you in Canada! Happy Monday to everyone else! 🙂 We added new things to the website tonight. Just up:

Cascade 220 and 220 Superwash – this worsted weight is perfect for quick holiday gifts, since it knits up fast and beautiful. The regular 220 can also be used for felting, so it makes great bags and slippers. The 220 Superwash is especially nice for kids clothes and blankets, since you can toss it in the washer and dryer when you need to. (Shown here in Cherry, 2426.)

Cascade Fixation – this DK weight yarn is 98 % cotton and 2% elastic, so it’s perfect to use for people who don’t tolerate wool. The yarn has a slight “give” to it, so even though there are only 100 yards in a ball, I made a women’s size 11 sock out of one ball. The slight stretch makes the yarn go further!

Cascade Heritage Silk The Loopy EweCascade Heritage Sock and Heritage Silk – fingering weight yarn, perfect for socks and shawls. The regular Sock is 75% Superwash Merino and 25% nylon, while the Silk is 85% Superwash Merino and 15% Silk, which adds a slight sheen to the yarn. (Shown here in Heritage Silk, Aqua Foam, 5630).

Cascade Ultra Pima – this is one of our most popular cotton lines. The DK weight is 100% pima cotton, so it’s soft and gorgeous to work with. Great for sweaters and tank tops that are a bit cooler than all wool blends.

HiyaHiya – sharp, steel and bamboo needles re-stocked, as well as Kitty Snips, Puppy Snips, and Knitter’s Safety Pins.

Knitter’s Pride – DPN’s and Circulars re-stocked.

French General The Loopy EweModa Fabric – French General Josephine, which includes prints in reds, browns, and creams in a variety of prints and color variations. Here’s a shop sample that we’re working on out of the French General line. (No bindings or quilting yet, but isn’t the piecing pretty?) We used the Blue and Gray Trail pattern out of this line of patterns, which works so well with the reproduction-type fabric. (Although I also think those patterns would be really fun in current fabric prints as well!).

Moda Scrumptious The Loopy EweModa Fabric – Scrumptious, which includes prints in limes, aquas, creams and mixes. These are such happy, fun colors, and they’d work equally well for garments as well as quilts. Here are just a few of the bolts we added in this line.

Have fun shopping and we’ll be in tomorrow to get all of your orders packed up and on their way!

Madelinetosh, Zauberball, Trekking, Blue Q, and Fabric!

Baltic The Loopy Ewe

Monday Fun for you! We just added in:

Madelinetosh Merino Light – in 80+ colors! This single-ply fingering weight base has been especially popular for shawls, sweaters, scarves and cowls. The yarn is 100% superwash merino and comes with 420 yards in the skein. I like using this for multi-color shawl combinations, like the Pamuya and Whippoorwill shawls that I made, or the Faberge that our customer Cricket made and has on display in our shop. It would also be pretty in a Color Affection or the Derecho. Of course it’s gorgeous for single-color shawls as well. I just seem to have an especially fun time picking out color combos! (Shown here in Baltic.)

Schoppel Wolle Zauberball 1505 The Loopy EweSchoppel Wolle Zauberball – This slow color-shifting yarn is so pretty when used for socks, shawls, hats, mitts, and gloves. We have it re-stocked in the Sock weight and DK weight. (Shown here in Zauberball 100 in #1505.)

Trekking – lots of this workhorse sock yarn in XXL and the Trekking Tweeds. This is the yarn you want to use for gift socks, if you know the person you’re giving them to is going to toss them in the washer and dryer. Plus, the colors are beautiful!

Blue Q Bags – If you like Owls, Kittens, Fox, Reading, and numerous other activities, you’ll love the new designs we’ve just added in the Blue Q line! We’ve also re-stocked your other favorites. These are really great bags for projects and accessories, as well as gift bags for special gifts.

Adornit The Loopy EweFabric – Did you notice that we added Fabric to our website last week? We are so excited! The Quilting Elves have been busy making beautiful samples for the shop, and we have been sending out fabric orders as they arrive. We have multiple lines of contemporary fabrics, batiks, Civil War reproductions, and more from ModaRiley BlakeAdornit (shown here, left), Birch (shown here, right), and Timeless Treasures, with more in the works.

In addition to regular yardage (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, and full yards), we also offer all of our fabrics in Fat Quarter cuts. You’ll see a link for ordering Fat Quarters on each individual fabric product page, under the photo. We also have multiple pattern companies, and the sewing notions have started to arrive as well. And you’ll love our photos. Birch The Loopy EweWe’ve taken the time to photo all of the fabric ourselves (instead of using stock photos from the fabric companies) and we think it makes a difference. You know you can click on photos on our website to make them all bigger, right? 🙂 If you like to quilt or sew, pop over and check out the ever-expanding Loopy Ewe Fabric Shop! Of course all of our regular rewards apply to your fabric purchases as well.

Have fun shopping and we’ll get your orders out asap!
