Happy Columbus Day to those of you in the U.S.! (We were out of the shop today, since it’s a No Mail Monday. I worked on …. a sweater! Can you believe it? That’s all I’m going to say about it until it is finished. And it will get finished.) Happy Thanksgiving Weekend to those of you in Canada! Happy Monday to everyone else! 🙂 We added new things to the website tonight. Just up:
Cascade 220 and 220 Superwash – this worsted weight is perfect for quick holiday gifts, since it knits up fast and beautiful. The regular 220 can also be used for felting, so it makes great bags and slippers. The 220 Superwash is especially nice for kids clothes and blankets, since you can toss it in the washer and dryer when you need to. (Shown here in Cherry, 2426.)
Cascade Fixation – this DK weight yarn is 98 % cotton and 2% elastic, so it’s perfect to use for people who don’t tolerate wool. The yarn has a slight “give” to it, so even though there are only 100 yards in a ball, I made a women’s size 11 sock out of one ball. The slight stretch makes the yarn go further!
Cascade Heritage Sock and Heritage Silk – fingering weight yarn, perfect for socks and shawls. The regular Sock is 75% Superwash Merino and 25% nylon, while the Silk is 85% Superwash Merino and 15% Silk, which adds a slight sheen to the yarn. (Shown here in Heritage Silk, Aqua Foam, 5630).
Cascade Ultra Pima – this is one of our most popular cotton lines. The DK weight is 100% pima cotton, so it’s soft and gorgeous to work with. Great for sweaters and tank tops that are a bit cooler than all wool blends.
HiyaHiya – sharp, steel and bamboo needles re-stocked, as well as Kitty Snips, Puppy Snips, and Knitter’s Safety Pins.
Knitter’s Pride – DPN’s and Circulars re-stocked.
Moda Fabric – French General Josephine, which includes prints in reds, browns, and creams in a variety of prints and color variations. Here’s a shop sample that we’re working on out of the French General line. (No bindings or quilting yet, but isn’t the piecing pretty?) We used the Blue and Gray Trail pattern out of this line of patterns, which works so well with the reproduction-type fabric. (Although I also think those patterns would be really fun in current fabric prints as well!).
Moda Fabric – Scrumptious, which includes prints in limes, aquas, creams and mixes. These are such happy, fun colors, and they’d work equally well for garments as well as quilts. Here are just a few of the bolts we added in this line.
Have fun shopping and we’ll be in tomorrow to get all of your orders packed up and on their way!
