June 1 – Camp Loopy Start Day

The Loopy Ewe Camp Loopy Start Day

Time to blast off into Outer Space, with our June starts! Feels like we have been waiting forever, doesn’t it? Get your needles (or hooks) clicking and keep us posted on your progress. We have sent a lot of Camp yarn out this past month, and now we can’t wait to see what you’re working on!

We wanted to start the day with a contest. Tell us your favorite outer space movie. OR, tell us your favorite TV show to binge watch. With all of the knitting and crocheting happening this month, we probably all need a few new ideas.

We’ll do the random-draw next week and the winner will get a fun surprise box of cool things from us!

Also be sure to follow us and tag us on Instagram, as we’re doing drawings over there this summer, too. https://www.instagram.com/theloopyewe/

Happy Camping, friends!

  1. So Spaceballs has to be the all time favorite. But I totally second those who said Guardians of the Galaxy and Hidden Figures. I’d also like to put Moonraker out there… not my favorite Bond movie, but any chance to add a Bond movie on a list of favorite movies has to be done.

  2. The ever-campy “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians” from 1964. As a kid, loved it.

  3. I love Firefly and the movie Serenity! So fun to see favorite characters move to the big screen!

  4. One movie I can watch over and over is Gattaca- Deep story.
My husband is a big fan of SF so I get to see them all-Yeah.
However The Right Stuff is wonderful and lets not forget the movie- Spacecamp.
What a great idea to Audiobook Space Books while knitting!

  5. I love Documentaries. I’m binging an Archeology program on YouTube called Time Team.

  6. I really enjoyed a serious movie called “Enemy Mine” with Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett, Jr. However, for a fun movie, I like “The Last Starfighter.”

  7. I am thinking a revisit to Downtown Abbey this summer is a good idea to prepare for the movie in September.

  8. I really liked the space movie (and the book more honestly) The Martian. My SO and I have been borderline binge watching Brooklyn 99.

  9. I had a quick answer until I started reading other comments. I am going to have to settle on Space Balls. Going for sixth grade humor today.

  10. My favorite outer space movie and tv program was Star Trek…saw all the movies and followed all the TV programs except the latest because I refuse to buy another channel of an existing free one.

  11. I’m currently binge-watching Father Brown and Midsomer Murders. And I just realized both have episodes involving UFOs and aliens. Also looking forward to the new Shaun the Sheep movie Farmageddon.

  12. My favorite space movie ( I’m interpreting this loosely) is Rocketman. Just saw this yesterday and it’s out of this world!

  13. Working on my Peachy Sangria and considering re-watching Thor Ragnorak yet again! If that doesn’t quite count as an outer space movie, Galaxy Quest is always a favorite. One Strange Rock is also a really cool TV show, it has astronauts talking about Earth and some truly spectacular footage of weird places on the planet.

  14. Star Trek, always. I’ve also started watching Call the Midwife (not so sure if that was a good idea with me currently being pregnant but…) and Outlander is finally on Netflix so I’ve started watching that too!

  15. Yes Camp is finally here ! YAY ! using new to me Qing yarn for a new Woolenberry pattern. Should be fun. hummmm – favorite sci-fi movie – there are so so many – we love that genre. I really liked Independence Day the one with Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum and a host of other stars. Wrath of Khan, Star Trek II is probably my all time favorite followed by Star Trek III, Search for Spock and Star Trek IV
thanks for the giveaway opp. Mel

  16. I searched audible for an audiobook using keywords like “moon” and “space” and found a highly rated audiobook called, Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar. I listened to the sample and liked the reader’s voice; I will be giving it a try. It clocks in at 11 hours and 25 minutes, so I will need more ideas as I am on the 1000 yard plus launch.

  17. My favorite TV show to binge watch is Ancient Aliens!! I love to hear about all the artifacts and archaeological sites, even if the theories are a little out there! Plus, it has to do with space, so bonus!

  18. “Project Runway” is so much fun to watch. And, if you’re watching a past season, you can see and appreciate the growth of the designers from challenge to challenge.

  19. There are so many wonderful space movies! One of many favorites is Star Trek II – The Wrath of Khan.

  20. Favorite outer space movie is Guardians of the Galaxy. I couldn’t possibly pick one fave to binge watch. We finish a series and start a new one.

  21. All the Star Trek shows and movies. I admit to a bit of a crush for William Shatner way back when.

  22. Working on my Navelli using Knerd String, really loving the pattern and yarn.
Any Star Wars movie, just rewatched the first one at the symphony with live music, a real classic.

  23. Love Apollo 13 and Guardians of the Galaxy ! To binge watch I have been re-watching The Big Bang Theory.

  24. My absolute favorite outer space movie is “Guardians of the Galaxy” — both 1 and 2. I absolutely love all of the characters!!!
