We have so much yarn on order, it makes my head spin. But it is (apparently) taking it’s sweet time to get here! Some of that is due to the weather we’ve been having around the country. At any rate, it has started to work it’s way here, and we have some pretty things up for you in today’s update, including a new style or project bags that you will love. Just up:
Malabrigo Caracol – This is one of Malabrigo’s newest yarn bases, and it always reminds me of stained glass when we unpack it. It’s a Super Bulky 100% merino wool that you’ll like for cowls, hats, scarves and mittens. And of course it knits up super quickly. We have it in 19 colors for you.
Malabrigo Sock – When this fingering base came out (several years ago), we could never keep it in stock. Now we get it as often as we can! Some colors are still hard to keep in stock. It’s 100% Superwash Merino, so if you do use it for socks, keep your gauge at 8-9 stitches per inch. But it’s also wonderful for shawls, cowls, sweaters, hats and mittens. We have it in 45 colors.
Cascade 220 – This is a staple for many knitters – a good, solid colored worsted weight yarn. The regular 220 is 100% wool and will felt (which is great for …. well, felting), so do hand wash and dry if you’re using it for sweaters, which many people do. 198 color options.
Cascade 220 Superwash – If you don’t want to have to hand wash and dry, then consider using the 220 Superwash. This one is also worsted weight, also comes in lots of great colors, but can take the washer and dryer. If you need easy care (or are knitting a gift for someone who needs easy care), this is a good option. 141 colors to choose from.
Cascade Ultra Pima & Ultra Pima Paints – A DK weight that is 100% Pima cotton (super nice and soft, with the slightest bit of sheen to it). We like this one for spring and summer sweaters and tops and soft baby items. It comes in a lot of solids as well as some multi-colors. We have 99 solids and 24 paints for you.
Cascade 220 Superwash Aran – Heavier than the worsted weight yarns, this one comes in a lot of pretty solid colors and works up quickly for warm winter wear. Try it for hats, cowls, scarves and sweaters. We have it in 41 colors for you.
Cascade Superwash Sport – With Spring around the corner (ok, who am I kidding? But at least it’s time to start knitting for Spring…), you will also like this lighter version of the great Cascade wool lineup. This sport weight is machine wash and dry, which makes it great when you need easy care items. 48 color options.
Cascade Heritage Sock – A fingering weight that is 75% superwash merino and 25% nylon, so it’s good for socks, but also pretty for other knitwear. And great for colorwork! 60 color options for you.
Daisy Girl Bags – A new bag company, and a new style of bag for you! You know how we love bags around here. One thing you’ll like – the clear vinyl window in the front, so you can quickly see which project is in that bag. And so you can see the cute coordinating fabric on the inside. We have five different fabric combinations, with large and small bags in each.
Hinza Totes – We’ve re-stocked the Small Blue Totes, which had sold out, as well as the Large Totes in all colors (which we can only sell in-store, due to their size. But if you are local – we have them back for you!). Popular with knitters, sewists, and cats. Seriously.
If you like quilts, sewing projects, embroidery and wool, we started a separate group on Facebook to share projects made with Loopy fabric purchases. We’d love to have you join us there, if you are into working with fabric, or just like looking at such things! It’s called Quilt & Sew with The Loopy Ewe.
Have fun shopping through the new things. And remember – 99% of orders placed by 2:00 pm Mountain Time ship the same day. We like getting things to you quickly!
