Into the Whirled, Blue Moon, Stonehedge and More!

Happy Columbus Day! It’s one of those No-Mail-Mondays so we were closed in the shop today and no orders went out. We’ll be back in tomorrow to get your orders on their way. In the meantime, we have cool new things to share with you. We just added in:

Into the Whirled Pakokku – Oh, we are so happy to have Cris and James back with their beautiful indie-dyed line! This has always been one of my very favorite lines, and we missed them when we weren’t able to get them for a bit. But we’re thrilled to have them back in The Loopy Ewe Indie Group, and I know you will be happy about that, too. Pakokku is 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon with 460 yards per skein. It is wonderful for socks, shawls, cowls, hats and mitts. Pattern Ideas: Sockhead Hat, That Nice Stitch, and Harvest Dew. Shown below in Rhinebeck and Cat’s Pyjamas.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Gaea Sport – A new base for us, this sport weight yarn is perfect for sweater knitters. Gaea is a 4-ply yarn made from 21.5 micron Certified Organic Merino and comes with a whopping 560 yards per skein. (This is a luscious BIG skein. You’ll love it!) Also wonderful for shawls and wraps. Pattern Ideas: Rhilea, Maisie, and l’escargot bleu. Shown Below in Cranberry Bogged and Pistachio.

The Yarns of Rhichard Devrieze Peppino – It’s always fun to unpack Rhichard’s beautiful colors. Each skein of this fingering weight yarn is 225 yards and 100% merino, so you’ll need two skeins for a pair of socks. You’ll also love his yarn for shawls, sweaters and winter wear. Pattern Ideas: Painted, Yours Truly Summer, and Marginalised Hat.  Shown below in Delft and Meet the Parents.

Stonehedge Fiber Mill Sheperd’s Wool Worsted – Another great yarn for sweater knitting, with 250 yards in the skein and 100% wool. Be sure to hand wash for sweaters and such, as it will felt. (So on the other hand, you will like it for felted projects, too.) Pattern Ideas: Guernsey Wrap, Dark and Stormy, and 146 The Cinch. Shown below in Purple and Pewter.

  1. My son is a UPS guy. He wouldn’t mind delivering yarn. The boxes aren’t heavy and he knows about the warm, wonderful, yarny goodness that comes from such deliveries!

  2. Oh, I think that’s me! If so, it will get used with the other Kauni I picked up after reading your blog post! Thank you!
