Monday Yarn Update: Loopy Legends, Western Sky, and More!

Happy Memorial Day to you and a special thank you to all of you who have served in the military, as well as to the families who have had people serve in the military. We appreciate your service today and every day and are very thankful for you.

We weren’t working today at Loopy, but we do have new things up on the website for you this evening. We just added in:

Loopy Legends – This is a batch from our 2014 Loopy Legends! It’s always fun to get the inspiration photos from our Legends and then watch as Lorna’s Laces combines those colors into a skein of beautiful yarn. It truly makes for very unique colorways, and I know many of you collect them all. Shown below in Emma’s Underwater Adventure and Ruby’s Vacation Paradise.

Western Sky Knits – Kim and Heather have sent more of their gorgeous yarn, including some of my favorite colors! Aspen Sock with Nylon is a fingering weight yarn that is 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon with 400 yards to the skein. I made a Sockhead Hat with that beautiful Choco Rainbow (below) and am working on a pair of socks with Quarry (also below).

Scojo Eyewear – Someone asked me once why we sell reading glasses here. A young someone, who clearly isn’t at the point of needing reading glasses to knit or sew. 🙂 These are the best reading glasses I’ve ever worn. They are incredibly lightweight and comfortable and I wear them all day to work on my computer (and then most evenings to work on my projects). We added in their new neon colors, and we also have them in the sunglasses edition, if you like to work on things in the car, on the beach, by the pool, or at kids soccer games. You know, just for those of us who need reading glasses ….

U Count Bags and Totes – A new line of bags for us with all of the profits going back to this organization to help the women who make them. These are sewn out of recycled sari’s and the program helps to provide women with an alternative income source to human trafficking. For more information about the program and the women, check our website. We’re happy to be a part of this and hoping that we can be a good source of sales for them. Shown below in the tote bags and the zippered pouches.

  1. Wow. I just read the info on the U Count Bags. Very compelling. There is a program on A and E called 8 Hours which is also about human trafficking but here in the states. Very interesting. Even if we don’t need another bag (what?!?!), it’s still worthwhile to purchase one for such a good cause! Way to go, Sherri!

  2. any chance you can tweet the links to new blog posts? Not on Facebook and only recently saw the info about camp loopy. Thanks!
