I finished my Camp Loopy Project Three last weekend! Just thought I should keep you in the loop, since I mentioned often enough that I might be in trouble on it. I will share photos next week, but last night’s Knit Nighters can vouch for me, since I had to show it off to them. How are you doing on your Camp projects? Sunday is the due date!
Loopy Elf Cathy brought in a delicious treat, recently. We have some really good cooks and bakers working here! As soon as I tried one, I knew you all would need the recipe, too. Easy to make and fun to share. The recipe comes from Melissa’s Southern Style Kitchen, and you will find a lot of other wonderful recipes on her blog, too!
Cathy’s Sea Salt Cinnamon Pralines
12 whole graham crackers
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
3/4 cup light brown sugar
1 tsp. sea salt
1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup pecan pieces (can also use almond slivers or walnut pieces)
1/4 cup English Toffee bits
Preheat over to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with parchment paper or foil, leaving an overhang so that you can lift it from the pan when done. (If you use foil, butter it generously.)
Lay the graham crackers out so they cover the pan, without overlapping.
In a pan, melt the butter, brown sugar and 1/4 tsp. sea salt. Bring to a boil and cook over medium heat for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and add in the vanilla, cinnamon and pecan pieces. Stir until combined. Then pour the hot mixture over the crackers, spreading evenly until they are all covered. Sprinkle the toffee bits on top.
Bake for 10 minutes until bubbly. Remove and sprinkle the remaining 1/4 tsp. sea salt on top. Let cool completely and then chill. Use a sharp knife to but into desired shapes. Store chilled.

We are shopping for school clothes. (But I’m actually just looking forward to an extra day to work on my Weasley Socks 🙂
Because we don’t have kids and no ‘back to school’ to prepare for, we always take Labor Day week for vacation. This year we’ll take the dogs and kayaks and knitting and drive down the Southern Oregon coast and Northern California coast to Mendocino. To say I’m looking forward to it is a huge underestimation!

I’m looking forward to weaving (newest hobby!) on the towels that are my second ever project and the first on my floor loom I bought from a friend. It’s a striped warp that makes seven different towels with varying weft stripes. Then I get to plan the next project!
I’m not sure why I resisted weaving for so long, but I guess now was just the time for it.
Three days to knit, I am so excited.
Looking forward to knitting something leisurely that isn’t on a deadline! Love camp loopy, but wow, those deadlines are murder!

An extra day off!
I am looking forward to seeing some mountain scenery. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
I am looking forward to a couple of things. First, my husband has been out of town all week for business, and I am so looking forward to him being home! Second, watching college football games! I have so missed watching my Buckeyes.

I’m soooooo looking forward to sleeping in! This has been the first week of school for my kids, and that has meant all of us getting up before sunrise… It will feel so good to turn off the alarm clock tonight and not have to hear it again till Tuesday!
Sleeping in! Spending the weekend with DH. We’ve been far too busy lately and in opposite directions. It will be great to spend a whole day together.
The three day weekend snuck up on me, so I’m looking forward to an extra day to work on finishing a shawl
I’m mostly looking forward to the bonfire I’m hoping to have on Sunday night. If it rains I will have to reschedule, but if it goes as planned it will be the first (and likely only) one I will have this summer.
I am looking forward to actually not having anything to do this weekend! It will be the first one in what seems like forever that I don’t have anything scheduled – I’m free! 🙂
Looking forward to not being at work and doing whatever hubby, little dude and I decide to do.
Given that I work this weekend there’s really not much to look forward to. I guess it would be coming home from work, but then I have housework to do. Oh well.

I’m looking forward for the moving truck driver to come and take all the boxes and furniture from my house so I can check one more thing off my moving to do list and heave a sigh of relief. Plus, this weekend coming and going means that many more days down until I can come by the shop in person! We are driving to our new destination and making a specific detour to stop at TLE in person yay!

This weekend, there’s an exciting football game on TV: the college I work at, UCF, is playing Penn State–but in Ireland! My husband and I plan to go to an Irish pub to watch the broadcast. That will be fun, but what he doesn’t know is that one of our best friends is randomly in town and will be there with us!

I have spent most of the summer on the road for work (over 12,000 miles on my car), so I am looking forward to staying home, cleaning my house (believe it or not), and setting up my sewing/quilting space in the basement. And maybe actually doing some sewing and quilting.

I’m looking forward to a friend’s visit for the weekend. We are throwing a fest in her honor. She is one of the few people I know that appreciates the fact that I knit. She doesn’t do it herself, so she is going to look through my stash and pick out some yarn for some fingerless mitts!
We have sons football game tomorrow, the Balloon Classic tomorrow night, CO state fair on Sunday. Rest day on Monday or sew day. I still have 15 more rows to go to finish my last loopy. Busy weekend for sure.

Watching Outlander on Saturday and working on my MKAL for the series, and canning some peach jam on Monday!
Is it sad that I’m simply looking forward to not working? Except, I’m bringing work home so that’s not true either.
I’m almost done with Loopy Project 3, so I am looking forward to taking it to Saturday knitting and weaving in all the ends and showing it off. And picking out a new project. And a Fling project!!
Three day weekend!!!! I love that I have time to get chores and activities done Saturday and Sunday, then I have ALL day Monday to sew and knit!!!
