Do you ever feel like you stepped onto an out-of-control merry-go-round? (Or yarn winder, if one were able to sit on a yarn winder….) That’s what this week has felt like. Busy, busy, busy. Maybe I just need to sit and chill and knit for awhile tonight. I’ve been working on my Cabled Rib Wrap and not working on my Charleston Tea (although I need to). I’m also ready to get another scarf on the loom. The purple one from last week is done. I’ll show it to you as soon as I wash and block it. I had fun working on it!
It’s time for our October Blog Contest, and I thought it would be fun to give away a skein from our newest indie dyer. I’m happy to say that we’re adding Fibernymph Dye Works to the shop. We’ll have Lisa’s beautiful semi-solids, striping yarns, and also her awesome roving. This line will be going up soon, but you have a chance to win a skein before it goes up! Leave a comment below and we’ll draw a winner next week. You can pick the color you’d like, from these five pictured. (Left to Right: Brigid’s Cloak, Autumn Harvest, Nothing But Blue Skies, Elphaba’s Corset, and An Air of Elsewhere.) The October Blog Question is: Do you have any other needle arts hobbies besides knitting? (Spinning? Weaving? Quilting? Counted Cross Stitch? Needlepoint? Rug Hooking?) To enter the drawing, leave your answer in the comments below. We’ll email you if we draw your name next week.

Wool applique and penny rugs… Hand dyed wool is gorgeous!
I have been a fan of Lisa’s 90% Knitting for a long time. She has some absolutely beautiful color ways.
I do have lots of other hobbies: sewing, crochet, embroidery and an occasional cross stitch. I would love to win some of Brigid’s Cloak.
Spinnnnninnnnnnnnng!
Just knitting for now, although I used to cross stitch. Quilting looks good when I have time for a less portable hobby.
My first love is knitting, but I’ve done counted cross stitch and a tiny bit of crochet.
I started out cross-stitching when I was a teenager, then I moved onto knitting!
I also crochet, needlepoint, cross stitch as well as lacemaking arts such as tatting and bobbin lace.
I just knit. as I don’t have time for much else.
These days it’s mainly knitting and spinning I do. But I also enjoy sewing (as long as it’s not patching), crotcheting, and cross-stitching. I just wish I had more time to do all the things I enjoy.
The other needle work I can do is crochet. I would learn to sew one day, though.
I like to weave and I can use a drop spindle but knitting is my favorite thing! 😉
Knitting is my all time favorite hobby! Close behind though is quilting & crocheting lace.
Knitting is my favorite! I also crochet, spin, weave a bit, sew, cross stitch, embroidery, needle felt, and make jewelry and hair bows.
I used to crochet, but the only thing I pick up a hook for now is a dropped stitch. I’ve also done free-hand embroidery and will probably pick that up again at some point. Would love to learn to spin!
Spinning and needlepoint too…it’s all about the colors! I do love elphaba’s corset colorway….
Mostly i knit.
I have a couple unfinished needlepoint projects, one embroidery project leftover from earlier days.
I do some basket weaving and this summer I bought an 8 shaft table loom. OMG, I bought a loom!!?!
I’m hopeless!
Knitting is my main hobby but I also love to crochet and do cross stitch!
Gosh, the Fibernymph Dye Works is beautiful stuff!!
I crochet as well as knit. I would love a skein of Elphaba’s Corset
I’ve done counted cross stitch, crewel embroidery, quilting. I sew, but not as much as I used to. I suspect I’ll add spinning and/or weaving at some point. But for the last 11 months I’ve been obsessed with knitting
I would love a skein of that lovely yarn!
I spin, weave and rug hook — and knit, of course. I’m in love with the Elphaba’s Corset color way!
Yes, I crochet, tat, spin (a little) and do counted cross stitch.
Some crochet (mainly for prayer shawls) and counted cross stitch. Knitting is definitely my favorite! So glad to see you will be carrying Fibernymph yarn.
I knit, crochet, quilt, bead, stamp, cross stitch, sew…… My favorite at the moment is knitting and I would love to try the new yarn.
Thanks to my mom, I can also crochet, needlepoint, and embroider. I taught myself how to do cross stitch.
I actually learned to crochet first, but discovered I like knitting better while in college. Outside of that I’ve dabbled in garment sewing, cross-stitch, and embroidery, but I’d like to learn quilting eventually 🙂
Wow ,that’s a loaded question for me.!
Lets see I can:
1) knit
2) crochet
3) tat
4) quilt
5) cross stitch ( I can do this but I don’t anymore)
6) needlepoint (not like it so don’t do it)
Thanks for the chance to win!!
I love to knit and last year after going to Stiches I decided I wanted to learn to learn to spin on a drop spindle. I bought drop spindle and some fiber and went home determined to learn to spin.
I now can spin on a drop spindle and have a spinning wheel, (learning again), and knit.
I learned to crochet as a child, but, prefer knitting and spinning over all the other things I’ve tried.
Mostly knitting with a bit of sewing and embroidery!
Weaving, spinning and rug hooking. Beautiful new yarn!!!
I used to embroider and do cross stitch, I have plans to weave one day, but now it’s knitting only. Plenty to keep me busy!!!
I’ve been knitting and crocheting for several years, but I’ve recently gotten into spinning with a drop spindle. Next I hope to try it with a spinning wheel!
For me knitting each day keeps the Dr. away! Ewe! I made a funny(:
I crochet occasionally, and I used to adore cross stitching. 🙂 Thanks for such a great shop, Sherri!
I LOVE TO SEW, NEEDLE FELTING. I LOVE BOOK MAKING, CARD & 3D PAPER PROJECTS. PAPER AND FABRIC IS SAME LOVE THEY BOTH HAVE COLOUR AND PATTERNS.
I also crochet and I am learning to spin using a drop spindle. Wishing for s spinning wheel! =)
I love to spin!! I have two wheels and multiple spindles including a Golding (the Cadillac of spindles!). If only I had time to do it all!!!
Right now I’m just knitting. I’m having too much fun with all the new yarns and patterns coming out! I’ve been eyeing this dyer for a while.
I am a beginning spinner. Just wish I had more time!
I’ve tried my hand at needlepoint, quilting, and crocheting, but for some reason (superiority, perhaps?) always come back to knitting. I’ve wanted to learn how to spin, though!
I’ve tried other needle arts but none seem to hold my interest like knitting does
Knitting is my main hobby but I learned to spin a year ago and love it!! Bought a Schacht wheel and couldn’t be happier…..I love, love, love your store!!
I have recently started quilting, and made a baby quilt for my new little nephew. I am also working on my second quilt, although it really cuts into my knitting time;)
I like embroidery. Although I have to admit I don’t do it as often as I would like because my knitting addiction gets in the way 😉
I have tried my hand at spinning but only twice and I wouldn’t call it a hobby or obsession. yet.
I do love to embroider and have done so on my knitting I’ve been known to buy fabric even though I don’t sew but someday I’d really love to learn.
I like to crochet but knitting is much more fun for me.
My knitting is my yoga. I take my knitting wherever I go. Mad. Pashmena is my favorite wool for shawls. I also do needlepoint but not lately. Moved to B.C. and knitting has saved my sanity. There are so many beautiful wools out there and Loopy Ewe carries them all. I belong to Prayer Shawl Ministry at Crossroads United Church. Wonderful group of ladies.
Knitting is my #1 obsession, though when I find time I also love to spin, dye, and sew a little. I’ve tried to crochet, but really suck at it. 🙂
Knitting is my one and only love!
