Mmmmm – I love peanut butter and bananas. Does anyone else still eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches, like I do? Very filling. And yummy. I came across a recipe for these smoothies on Pinterest (where else?) and we tried them last week. They taste like peanut butter ice cream and are so filling. Great for a snack, but also great for breakfast.
Peanut Butter Banana Smoothies (serves 2)
2 frozen bananas, sliced*
1/4 cup oats
1/4 cup peanut butter
3/4 cup milk
3-4 ice cubes
Put oats in blender and blend until they’re powdery. Add remaining ingredients and blend until smooth. Share with a friend. (Or eat half and freeze the other half for tomorrow.)
*I froze the bananas whole. They were easy to slice frozen. The skins will turn black in the freezer, but the insides are great.
Happy weekend!

Yes, I still eat them! They are delish! This recipe sounds like it is as well. Now off to calculate Weight Watcher points!
if it just didn’t have bananas in it….
I just received my Atendi baguette in today’s mail. Absolutely gorgeous! I might use it as a cool purse instead of a knitting bag. Have a wonderful weekend. Is graduation over?
I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches but I’m not a smoothie fan so not sure how I’d like this. Have a good weekend!
This sounds yummy. What type of oats did you use?
Sounds amazing, I have to try this.
I will definitely try this but with almond butter instead. Thank you!
….or how about with hazelnut spread? Yummo!!
Yum! I’m so glad you are back to giving recipes some posts. Your taste seems to be very similar to mine so so far, not a bad one yet!
dear hub makes this with 2 bananas 1 tsp honey 2 tbs peanut butter, its more like ice cream and delicious
I freeze bananas as a treat for the rabbits and Abbie (pup). The rabbits like the frozen bananas as year round and will even eat the blackened skin. Abbie just loves banana. Period.
Looks wonderful! Yes I eat PB and banana sandwiches on whole wheat bread! Yummy! Been eating them since I was a wee girl! Also freeze bananas- they work great. Thank you for the recipe!
I saw on the news about wildfires 20 miles north of Ft. Collins. Hope y’all are okay
I have never eaten peanut butter with bananas. But this smoothie sounds pretty good. :). I love Pinterest. Have a good weekend everyone!
I love peanut butter and banana sandwiches! Especially with natural crunchy PB. 🙂
Peanut Butter and banana and HONEY on whole wheat………
Yummy, yummy, yummy! I will start freezing my bananas whole like that and give this recipe a try.
I’m going to have to try this with Almond Milk – sounds yummy
On our way to Portland, OR, from Seattle, we stopped at a cafe that had a Milkshake Menu! It was so extensive that we had no idea what to order! The waitress recommended the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Milkshake! Well!!! We thought we’d gone to heaven without dying! Back in the Land of Oz we have asked at Milkbars and some have been game enough to try and make us one. They bring back sweet memories, but the first one was definitely the best one!!! Sometimes we make them at home, so next time I will try adding a banana to the mix, cos that would have to be an amazing flavour!
By the way… if you peel the banana first, it will still freeze up ok and a lot easier to deal with once it is frozen!
My local ice cream place makes a shake called, “Elvis.” It is vanilla ice cream blended with peanut butter and bananas. Epic awesomeness!
Peanut butter & banana sandwiches? YES! Love them. Also love peanut butter & carrot sandwiches.
Coming out of long-term lurking to let you know that I tried the smoothie this morning and loved it! Thanks!
I make both peanut butter banana cookies and a peanut butter banana pound cake 🙂
Not only do I still eat peanut butter and banana sandwiches but my favorite “comfort food” after a long day is a grilled peanut butter, jelly and banana sandwich. Very rich but oh, so good!
