Fifth Anniversary CONTEST!

I’ve officially started my Project Three – a throw. You might remember that Camp Loopy’s Project Three needs to be an 800 yd. project (or more).  I made another throw last summer, in a striping pattern. This time I’m going round and round to make one big square (although I jiggered it so that it is rectangular, not square.) I’m using Blue Sky Worsted Hand Dyes and I know it will be as soft and comfortable to use as last summer’s throw turned out to be (made in Rowan’s Amy Butler Belle Organic.) Someday maybe I’ll be able to do something more exciting with crochet than go round and round in lines, but for now, this is it. I do, however, love the blankets/throws when they are done.

This month we’ve been celebrating our Fifth Anniversary by sharing different exclusive colorways with you. Our first one was from The Sanguine Gryphon on their Bugga base, and this week’s was from Lorna’s Laces on their Solemate base. (We have a few skeins left, if you missed it.) We’ll have one more for you in next Monday’s Update.

In the meantime, we wanted to share our anniversary blog contest with you. We will be randomly drawing five winners from all of today’s blog comments and each winner will receive a $50 Loopy Ewe Gift Certificate! To enter, just answer this question in the comments below (or email us the answer, if you’re shy …). We’ll draw the winners at the end of next week. So here is the question to answer:

What is your favorite vegetable?

You thought we were going to make you say “Happy Anniversary”, right? Or “Tell us your favorite thing about the shop”? Or “How long have you been hanging out with us at The Loopy Ewe”? Nope. We want to know your favorite vegetable. We don’t always like to be predictable.

  1. Wow, I didn’t think this question would be so difficult to answer. I can’t pick just one! Potatoes, spinach, tomatoes…

  2. I’d have to say I love them all, but particularly baby carrots! I can dip with them and skip the potato chips! Yum!

    Happy Anniversary, too! 😉

  3. No question – home grown tomatoes! There’s nothing better…the cherry tomatoes rarely make it inside….eaten straight off the vine!

  4. Wow! I guess it would be carrots….or onions…..or beets….or spaghetti squash…..or sweet corn! There are so many veggies, and so little time…..!

  5. Potatoes!!!!!! In any way shape or form! Love ’em! (That may have something to do with why I kind of look like one…)

  6. All-time favorite is Turnip Greens. I feel bad for all of the veggies I love that I didn’t mention. I love them all!

  7. I think I might be a bit late to the game, but here goes…my favorite vegetable is probably corn. I say “probably” because I can’t think of any others. 😉

  8. My Favorite Vegetable is carrots. Love Tomatoes, but I think they are considered to be a fruit. Funny how our tastes change over the years. I hope I am not to late to enter. Thank you!!

  9. It’s summer and Tomatoes are on my mind. But since their really fruit, I’ll say that i already miss the spring time asparagus. Next year loves.

  10. Hmmmmm, my favorite ABSOLUTELY is acorn squash. I really LOVE a little squash mixed in with my brown sugar and butter!
Happy Anniversary! My first package from you, with your EXCELLENT customer service and personal comments, was a treat that made me smile all day! Thanks!!!

  11. My favorite vegetable is the lima bean! As a kid, I LOVED butter, and my mom would let me put about a pound of it on lima beans so I would eat them. I grew to love the little darlings, even without a heart-attack size pat of butter.

  12. OOHHH i can’t believe I forgot to post a comment for the 5th Anni contest!
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY LOOPY!!!! : ) My favorite veggie is celery. But I read a lot of people’s posts mentioning onions and carrots, which I also like. And eggplant. And spinach. I really like spinach.
Veggies are great for us! : ) Enjoy the 5th Anniversary celebrations!!

  13. I love beets. You can eat the root, the greens are so tasty, plus you can even dye with them. Happy Anniversary! :^)

  14. There are so many vegetables to choose from! If it’s just to eat fresh and raw, I love lettuce from my garden. But if you have to cook it, I like OKRA! Have you ever tried pickled okra? It’s the best!

Happy Fifth Anniversary! I hope I get to visit you guys before your move.

  15. My favorite vegetable is raw yellow pepper – sliced. It is so sweet, crunchy and moist. Also verry colorful.

I have so many favorite vegetables and have come to enjoy most of them raw.

  16. Kabocha is a yummy winter squash. It has a creamy texture and the taste is akin to a sweet potato.
    Happy Anniversary!

  17. Hands down it’s carrots. Raw, steamed, in a recipe – doesn’t matter, just love carrots!

And Happy Anniversary! So glad I got to go to Spring Fling this year and hoping that on down the road I’ll be able to attend one in Colorado (positive thinking might get one in the works, right??? LOL!).

  18. Congratulations! Will you soon open a sattelite in WI?
    Introduced to you by Wendy!
Favorite veggie…sweet potatoes. I’ve tricked the grandgirls into eating them by mashing them with whites and calling them “GOLDEN POTATOES”!

  19. My favorite vegetable is chocolate. Chocolate comes from the cocoa bean. Beans are vegetables, right? Therefore, my favorite vegetable is Chocolate. And though you didn’t ask, just for the record, my second favorite vegetable is coffee (it’s that bean thing again!). 😉

  20. Dutch Cream potatoes. Love them, could eat a whole plate of them with nothing but salt and a bit of butter but my waistline says no way.

  21. Fresh steamed beets with butter …yummy! Beautiful color, wonderful taste and so healthy…….that is except for the butter.

  22. I know that I’m spoiled having spent most of my life in California and having vegetables year-round, but there’s still something special about the first taste of sweet, white corn in the summer. Recently we’ve learned how to barbeque it with herbed butter. Yumm!!
    Happy Anniversary!

  23. Fresh home grown green beans. Especially “Magic Beans”.
We grew them when my boys were little. The beans were purple. After the beans were cooked they were green! Tada! Magic…. 😉 At least in my 3 little boys eyes back then LOL

  24. YUP!!! Love veggies – any one you choose to name – but if you told me I could never knit another stitch unless I named one single favored vegetable, I would say ASPARAGUS!

  25. Pole Beans are one of my favorite. They are a very meaty greenbean. Also Aspargus is my favorite espically on the grill
