… what I’m doing this weekend? I’m heading to Chicago for a Girls Weekend with College Girl, my favorite friend Janice, and her daughter K (who is not an official niece of mine, but I love her like one.) I’m also stopping by Dream in Color today, so maybe I’ll have some photos for you on Monday.
… when we’ll have Wollmeise in again? Good question. I’m not sure. But I knew you were wondering.
… who won last week’s random drawing blog contest? Two people – Patricia in OH and Kathryn in MN. Prizes are in the mail already!
... when our annual Random Acts of Kindness contests will start? Next week! Watch for something randomly kind that you can do between now and then, so that you’ll have one to share.
... how to get a copy of my favorite mitts pattern by Jessica, if you’re not on Ravelry to get it there? She wrote it up in a blog post for you!
… about my favorite new pot pie recipe is? I’m glad you asked. It’s this Chicken and Broccoli Pot Pie.
4 cups chicken (cooked and cubed)
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
(or Cream of Chicken, or Cream of Potato)
1 large bag of frozen, chopped broccoli (thawed)
1 can low-fat Crescent Rolls
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can Durkees French Onions
(I use the big can, because I like them.)
Mix chicken, broccoli, soup, 1/2 can of onions, and 1 cup of cheddar cheese. Pour into 9 x 13 pan and bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees. Remove from oven and add crescent strips:
Roll out crescent rolls into one big rectangle (pinching seams together) and cut into 6 strips, lengthwise. Put 3 long strips lengthwise on top of the casserole. Cut remaining 3 strips into 6 shorter strips and put these on top in the other direction.
Return to oven for 15 minutes. Add the rest of the cheese and onions to the top of the casserole and bake 5 more minutes.
Got anything else you’re wondering about? Or anything I need to know about you? I’m wondering ….
Am I your first commenter? Well I say enjoy your weekend and leave the wondering for next week!
Baby, it’s cold outside (& inside), to borrow an expression! It’s time to figure out how I can knit, or probably crochet some fingerless mitts, pronto, with a left hand that is having problems. Glad I’m right-handed!
Thank you for the recipe: it looks awesome! 🙂
I hope you, CG, Janice, & K have a terrific time in Chicago this weekend! Are you Christmas shopping, going to shows, knitting, or all of the above? Whatever you are doing, stay warm & have fun together.
Oh that casserole looks yummy! I’m wondering if I’ll be able to finish my gift knitting in time.
I’m wondering how I’m supposed to get everything accomplished in time for Christmas. Going this weekend to get the tree. And with all the knitting and crocheting I’ve done for myself this year, I’m wondering why I never did finish that flippin’ scarf??? Now it’s cold and I don’t have a scarf (as the dog ate my other one). 🙁
Have a grand time up here! I hope there are good restaurants in your plans!
Yay for the Return of the RAK! Have a great weekend, Sheri. Stay warm!
I may have to try out the pie for church dinner Sunday–sounds yummy. Have fun in Chicago. And I’m wondering who won the 3rd quarter challenge…did I miss a post? And it’s gonna be cold in NC tomorrow too but I can have a pj or non-public clothes day.
Oh my goodness that recipe sounds WONDERFUL! Have fun in Chicago and stay warm!
I am wondering whether or not we will get snow here in MD tomorrow. Regardless, I’ll stay inside. I’m planning a video and knitting day. I need to get crack-a-lackin’ on these Christmas presents I bought yarn for! Have a fun trip to Chicago. I heard on the news that they got snow yesterday. Should be beautiful albeit cold.
I’m a week early @ RAK – And i even mentioned on my FB page in hopes to make it spread…..
If you get a chance this weekend here in Chicago – check out the One of a Kind Show at the Merchandise Mart. There is everything there from a $15 handmade necklace, to paper goods, to furniture to $100k art!
Some of us will be there this afternoon (Friday). If we see you roaming around town, we will run up and say hi!
Have fun – it is cold – dress warm!
There’s also Renegade Handmade craft fair in Chicago this weekend (http://www.renegadecraft.com/holiday-chicago). I’ll be there tomorrow, picking out some gifts. Enjoy your time here in Chicagoland!
Thanks for that receipe. I am definitely going to make it. I was wondering if anyone other than me finds that their fingers and neck muscles ache after a few minutes of knitting socks? I love knitting socks, but the pain is getting to me! Any advice?
Make sure to bring some knitwear to Chicago!
And if you’re wanting to shop at World Market, here’s a coupon for this weekend!
It’s COLD in Las Vegas. Have a great trip. Say Hi to the DIC elves for me!
One pretty neat thing going on here – Baby YoYo! We had a liitle girl on November 25. Her name is Gwynevere and she’s perfect, if I do say so myself!
Have a wonderful trip!
Have a great time in Chicago and I’ll be the first to say it: I’m wondering about Spring Fling 🙂
I need to take pictures of some finished knits to finally put stuff into my Etsy store (which I have had for 2 years with nothing in it!).
Apparently I need to start slowly.
I’m also trying to figure out what to make with Seduce. I have fallen in love with a couple of colors and now I’m just trying to figure out a project to go with them (or at least one of them).
I am wondering if you finished the Silky Malabrigo scarf? Please post pictures. Have a great weekend with your friends. Thank you for the recipe.
I am wondering when sign ups for the 2010 Sock Club will start?
OOHHH God bless you with another pot pie recipe! Am making your original one tonight – my son’s future fiance is coming over. Made dark chocolate brownies last night after dinner – wanted to try one of your chocolate / peanut butter desserts but am squished for time lately. Am halfway through a Jared Flood Noro scarf for a friend. They REALLY come out nice and knit quick. Will copy and save this new recipe in my recipe file on my computer when I get home from work. AND have to start another pair of mitts – they are SO pretty for as quick and easy as they are to knit. And very feminine looking! You getting any deep dish pizza in Chicago? You can fax some here if you can….
Yes, it is cold here in Chicago but hey, it is December! There is also Cornelia Arts Fair at 1800 W Cornelia . My husband will have his photo studio open and hopefully sell some prints!
It’s colder in Chicago than it is here and it’s cold here. However, I know you
will have a good time no matter what the weather is like. Why don’t you all get
together and go some place warm?
I’m wondering if I’ll get time this weekend to cast on (again!) for a Springtime in Philadelphia beret, or any other knitting project, for that matter — it’s shaping up to be a busy weekend. I’m also wondering what nice, popular thing I can get for $15 or less for our workplace “steal the Pollyanna gift” exchange at the end of next week. A trip to Trader Joe’s or the wine & spirits store next door should take care of that for me.
I’m headed up to chi-town for a girls weekend myself! BFF flying in from nashville. she’s not a knitter tho… we’re going Vera Bradley shopping!
I’m wondering if you are the very Sheri of Sheri’s Posies Socks from Wendy Johnson’s Socks from the Toes Up book?
I’m also wondering if I can just purchase gifts this year for the Holidays, ditch the knitting I should be doing and cast on for a pair of socks for myself.
You’re such a tease about the WM? When will you have Bugga again? And thanks for the recipe – sounds yummy. If I remember, I’ll send you my recipe for brandy snaps. If you’ve never had one, you’ve been missing out!
Have a great time in Chicago.
I’m wondering when you will open the lottery sign-ups for the 2010 club?! I had SO much fun in it this year. Crossing everything that I can do it a second time! Also wondering how it snowed in Houston like it did… we’re not used to that!
Another comment from me – I was wondering if you still like your Kindle? I’d like to purchase an e-reader, but now there is the Sony e-reader and shortly there will be the Nook e-reader from Barnes & Noble. How does one decide which one to buy????
I’m wondering when/if the sun will come out again in s. florida.
Also wondering when Djinni will be back in stock . . . . .
Tried this recipe for dinner last night–it was FANTASTIC! Thanks so much for sharing!
