In honor of our Third Anniversary Month, I’m doing a special contest blog on three different Mondays in August. Today’s blog starts with a mini photo history of Loopy Central.
We started in a little corner of the basement and this was just going to be a little thing I did “on the side”. It was going to be “on the side” because I already had a fun scrapbooking business that I had been doing for 14 years. After Loopy took off, I retired from the scrapbooking business to put all of my time and effort here, instead. (This is one of the first Knitting Groups to come shop in person! Honestly, our space was not a whole lot bigger than what you see in the photo. I had to move out of the little corner so that they’d have room to move around a wee bit and shop.)
We packed boxes and left them on the porch and in our front hallway for the mailman.
Soon we had to expand the shelves into the rest of our basement, to fit more yarn and accessories in.
Then we gave up and moved it out of the house and into our own space.
After a year in the new space, we added the space next to ours so that we could double the size again.
Since we still have plenty of room to add more shelves in our current space, I’m hoping we won’t have to expand any more! (And I have no desire to get to the “warehouse” size. I want to work in a colorful, fun, inspiring-looking shop. I love walking into Loopy Central every morning. It’s bright and cheerful and happy here!)

A little less than three years ago, my sister and I were surfing the internet and ran upon loopy. we immediately did some shopping and were hooked for life. What a Great hook! Love The Loopy Ewe!!

When I first joined Ravelry, posts kept mentioning “Loopy” or TLE. It took me a long time to figure out that both referred to an online store and that the full name was The Loopy Ewe. I “came in”, looked around and have since left a lot of my money behind! Keep up the good work – I love your selection and customer service!
i really wish i remembered.. but i’m happy that i’ve not forgotten. while my purchases haven’t been many or large, i do hope that soon my *new (to us) house* will be ready for me to fill it’s nooks and crannies with yarn. I know where I’m shopping first.:)

I found out about Loopy Ewe from the Knitpicks swap ravelry group. A group member mentioned she was as addicted to TLE as she was to KP and I knew I was going to have to check that out. Now I’m more addicted to TLE. I was a groupie in no time!

I heard about The Loopy Ewe from Knitter’s Uncensored Podcast while I was living in Germany. About three or four years ago? I don’t remember exactly. I do remember that since I have discovered The Loopy Ewe, I have moved from Germany to Rhode Island to Colorado to Hawaii.
I do remember the first time I was able to shop in person at The Loopy Ewe; it was when we were driving across country (having just arrived from Germany) from Denver to Rhode Island. The second time was driving from RI to Denver to visit family before coming to Hawaii.

I found The Loopy Ewe at my LYS. Other knitters had the bag with Loopy on it – which I immediately loved – asked where they found that great bag, and was directed to your web site. Then, of course, I found the wonderful yarn, terrific customer service, and the “Sneak Ups”.
I found you all through Ravelry when I was looking for sock clubs. Still have not managed to join the sock club, but I very much enjoy your blog!

I think I first heard about TLE from another shop owner in the St. Louis area. Then I read about it on blogs, and heard more about it from friends. Finally, in June, my sister came to visit from out of state, and we drove the 35+ miles to visit Loopy Central. It was all we dreamed of and more!
