Three Things Friday

DSC01847.JPGThree projects that I’m still knitting and wondering how I can “up” my hours to 36 in a day instead of 24:
– DC KAL Sweater (one more sleeve and the ribbing to go)
– Noro Scarf (I’ve already picked a few more Noro colors that I must knit)
– Wollmeise Scarf (ditto. I want to make a Krauterbeet for myself.)
(The photo? Gale’s Art BLF Roving. šŸ™‚ It just arrived today. I thought it would make a colorful photo to start out the blog today. This is her regular BFL. We will have more of her Black BFL roving next.)

Three things that I’m putting off this weekend in order to get more knitting time:
– laundry (having no kids in the house all week did help to reduce the laundry load)
– cleaning (ditto. The house has stayed amazingly neat and tidy.)
– cooking (good time for eating out, right?)

Three places I will visit this summer:
– Ohio (TNNA Market is next week – I’ll go find more fun stuff for us!)
– Florida (taking a family trip down to see Web Guy over the Fourth of July)
– Indiana (to get both kids off to college in August. I can’t think about it.)

Three places I will not visit this summer:
– Colorado (my favorite vacation spot in the midst of St. Louis Summer Heat)
– Germany (even though it’s my turn to visit Claudia the Wollmeise)
– Michigan (although eventually I will get there to visit Friend Meg and Cool-Yarn-Store-ThreadBear!)

DSC01843.JPGThree Eight+ fun things that will go up next week:
– 8 brand new colors of Noro Sock (oh, they’re so pretty. I took the photo so it’s not WH/Web Quality, but you get the idea of the new colors, until you can see them up next week.)
– 21 brand new colors of Araucania (I love knitting this yarn)
– Woolly Boully, Sheepaints, Gale’s Art BFL Roving (see first photo for a sampling), new Shibui and Claudia HandPainted colors, The Loopy Ewe Zephyr Stitchmarker Set, etc.

Three Six+ new lines that you’ll see here soon:
– Neighborhood Fibers Yarn and Roving
– Spirit Trail Fiberworks
– Hazel Knits
– Malabrigo Worsted Weight
– Sugar Bunny Blvd
– Yarn Love Roving
– Indigo Moon Yarns
– (and a few more that are still a secret)

Three more fun things coming soon:
– our new Duets order which will contain some previous cool colorways that many of you have been asking for. Angela is the Queen of Heels and Toes Sock Yarn!
– new Knitting Bags (because we all know that I have a thing for bags. And I know you do, too. You’ll love these.)
– new non-wool sock yarn options (and some new wool sock lines, too)

DSC01835.JPGThree things that made me happy this week:
– the best-ever Molasses Sugar Cookies that came in the mail from Michele in Maine
– emails from my two kids who are away
– yarn shopping spree from the new stuff that came in this week because I needed more in my stash (1 Woolly Boully, 4 Araucania, 2 Sheepaints and 4 Noro. In case you wanted to know.)

Three things I’m doing this weekend:
– eating out at Granite City because my friend Janice keeps telling me I have to go there
– picking up Knitting Daugher and Mum-in-Law from the airport (yay!)
– planting flowers in the flowerpots by my front door because it’s time, FPS.

  1. 1. Helping middle daughter get ready for her trip to Germany – sponsored by the eduacation department at her university – she’ll be gone A MONTH…) She leaves from Dallas on Tuesday. and trying not to panic with the thought of her being gone so far from home, again this year.
    2. Cleaning house…boring but necessary…WAYYY necessary.
    3. Enjoying the dinner husband made for us – grilled chicken, b/c it is too hot to cook ANYTHING in this house…100 degrees as I’m writing this from San Angelo Texas.

hope everyone has a good weekend!

  2. Oooh! I almost missed it!

Three non-knitting things I’d like to finish this weekend (looking highly unlikely as it’s already late Saturday night):
    1. Painting the kitchen
    2. Planting the flowers
    3. Cleaning the back porch

Three knitting projects I’d like to work on this weekend:
    1. Celine’s hat
    2. Boteh
    3. Tulip socks
(Kendra’s afghan should probably be in here, but I should finish 1 and 2 first.)

Three things I must accomplish come H*ll or High Water:
    1. Laundry
    2. Grocery shopping (partially done, still need milk and salad fixins)
    3. Unpack from last weekend’s trip

Three things I’m happy about at this moment:
    1. I got me a lawn mower! (It boggles the mind, I know)
    2. My Savannah Bird Book is shipping Monday
    3. I get to plant flowers tomorrow

Three things that are perplexing me at the moment:
    1. I can not find any of my cotton railroad bandannas.
    2. What I can do to raise the spirits of my friend whose breast cancer has come back after 8 years. (I’m open to suggestions on this one if anyone has any.)
    3. Warping the space-time continuum so that there are 36 hours in the day, meaning everything could be accomplished and one could STILL sleep.

Speaking of which, I’m heading there now…. To have sweet dreams of yarn! šŸ™‚

  3. this weekend I will be
1.working as a volunteer at the Boise ID Ironman competition
    2. knitting while volunteering
    3. dreaming up knitted items for the house we just bought!

  4. Three non-wool-related good things about this weekend:

    1. It’s a long weekend for us (June 2 is La Festa della Repubblica, Italy’s answer to the 4th of July—no fireworks or parades but otherwise pretty enjoyable)!
    2. Our on-again-off-again house guest isn’t here—phew!
    3. Next week is the last week of school!

Three wool-related things I’m looking forward to:

    1. Woolly Boully returns to The Loopy Ewe!
    2. Malabrigo Worsted!
    3. Hazel Knits!

  5. Three things that I’m going to get done between today and tomorrow (my only 2 days off for the next 10 days- whew!):
    1. Finish the baby gift package for my mom’s coworker’s baby and get it in the mail. She’s due in 2 weeks, so I’d better hurry! The package contains 2 washcloths with baby patterns on them and a pair of baby socks knit in my own handdyed sock yarn.
    2. Clean up my house- working this much has left my house a disaster because I’m entirely too tired to clean after working 10 hour days!
    3. Take a nap both days.

    Dana

  6. Indigo Moon !!! YAHOOOOOO Her yarns are AWESOME !! I’m so glad you have her stuff on there…she is a lovely person who is so creative, probably like everyone else you have. She is a local fav. I gush everytime I see her yarns….

  7. I missed the 3 for the weekend, but I’m happy that it was good weather and relatively relaxing. I hope your weekend was a fun relaxing time all around.

  8. If you are coming to Indiana you should stop by Jeffersonville. I know we would all love a visit!
