As most of you know, Sarah Schira’s Year of Gnomes is ongoing, so we decided to join in the fun with our own Gnome Knit-Along! Sarah is running a very fun Mystery Gnome Knit Along in April – Professor Fungi , but we know not everyone loves a mystery (if you DO, though, you can find the MOST beautiful yarn sets specific to that MKAL at Little Squirrel Yarn and MakerWool). For those who do not need the mystery, we are hosting a gnome knit-along that lets you choose any of Sarah Schira’s gnome patterns.
We’ve created five 4-color gnome kits with Sarah’s Savour the Gnoment or Gnelson the Pirate in mind (but you can use them on other gnomes too, or choose your own colors from different yarn options in our store). Our sets are made using Babycat Yarn fingering for this. Each set includes 4 mini cakes, each with ~25g/100 yards. We have Gnome Accessories to go with these to complete your gnome’s personality. Yarn and accessories are sold separately to give you maximum flexibility. We have a gnome finishing set coming soon – sorry I just couldn’t get it ALL together in time to introduce today!
Gnome Knit-Along Details
Here is a list of our Gnome Knit-Along Details!
- Our gnome knit-along will run March 15 – April 30.
- We’ll have a few prizes along the way for participants, and a drawing at the end for a $25 store credit taken from all the people who send us images of their completed gnome by May 1, 2025.
- We’ll have a Ravelry Thread open in the Loopy Groupies – coming soon.
- I’d love to have a weekly Zoom or Google Hangouts check in. Let us know if this is of interest! Once I have a list of interested folks, we can select a time – likely Wednesdays at 12:30 pm or Wednesdays at 5:30.
Requirements for Gnome Knit-Along Participants
We don’t have a lot of rules, but to be eligible for the prize and drawing for store credit at the end of the knit-along, you must meet the following criteria:
- Have a good attitude and be ready for fun!
- Purchase your yarn at The Loopy Ewe between today (Tuesday, March 11, 2025) and April 30, 2025.
- Use a pattern from designer Sarah Schira for this knit along (take a look HERE for options).
- Email a photo of your completed gnome to support@theloopyewe.com no later than May 1, 2025. You may submit multiple completed gnomes (as long as they meet the specifications) for more drawing entries!
