Retirement for Loopy!

Hi Loopy Friends!

We’re popping in today to let you know that Loopy is retiring! We have loved being in the yarn business with you for the past 15+ years, helping to enhance your stashes, encouraging finishes and projects through Loopy Academy and Camp Loopy, and sharing photos of your beautiful work. Now we’re ready to retire from the yarn business and move in some new directions. We’ve been working on this process and the timeline for several months, and the good news is – it’s time to start the sale!

Starting now, everything at The Loopy Ewe is on sale for 25% off! The 25% discount will be applied to your cart.

A few things to note for both online and in-store orders:

  • Our phone and email time will be limited as we process orders online and in-store.
  • If something in your order is missing or out of stock, we’ll delete it from your order and send the rest.
  • If something has mixed dyelots, we’ll send it if we determine it’s a great match. If you prefer us not to do that, just leave an order note stating no mixed lots.
  • We aren’t able to change or combine orders or apply the discount to previous orders.
  • We aren’t able to offer free shipping options, reward points, or winding services. (You can still use Reward Points – we just aren’t adding more points for these sale purchases.)
  • All sales are final and we are not accepting any more returns.

Amended Hours:

Beginning now, we will be closed on Mondays. Our regular hours will be Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am – 5 pm.

For shopping in-store: we’ll keep an eye on numbers in the shop so that we can continue to practice social distancing. If you are sick or have been exposed to Covid, please do not come shop in person. You are welcome to place your order online and do a parking lot pickup.

We also have a lot of furniture, shop models, and displays for sale, if you’re local and can pick up!

Thank you again for your business over the years, and the fun we’ve had together. If you have any favorite Loopy memories that you’d like to share with us, we’d love to read those! We will be sending a few more emails along the way, so you’ll hear from us again soon.

P.S. Stitchers – ColoradoCrossStitcher.com is continuing and will be growing! We’ll be in this space for awhile yet, and will be looking for just the right new spot for the cross stitching business. Please be sure to sign up for our CCS email list if you want to keep up with what we’re doing there.

  1. My heart is breaking as you have been my shop of choice from the beginning. From your basement to the beautiful storefront you have grown into, you have been with me as my life has evolved. I wish for you the very best as you begin your new chapter in your life story ♥️

  2. I am sooo sad. You have been my favorite store in Colorado. Please let me know where else I can purchase the Ubcommon Thread in the Us. I wish you well

  3. You will be missed. I’ve been shopping with you since you were located in St Louis. I will always have fond memories of the fall Loopy event I went to in 2011. (What will you be doing with all those giant sock blockers btw? Lol) You brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. Many thanks to you Sheri and all your elves and good luck to you in the future!

  4. I’m very sad that you are retiring I will use my considerable stash most of it from TLE. I’m so happy that I got to attend a Spring Fling. Best of luck to your future endeavors.

  5. Wow. This is so sad. You have been my reward, my treat to myself for the past 12 years. Whenever I finish something important or do something im really proud of or want to celebrate me, i treat myself to a drive up to the Ewe from Boulder. You guys are like the Webs of the Rockies!!

  6. The Loopy Ewe will be missed! Please give a virtual hug to all the elves, especially Sara! She was always so cheerful and helpful.

Enjoy the next chapter of your life!

  7. I will always have the fondest memories of The Loopy Ewe, especially the Spring Fling I attended. Many wishes for happiness in your future endeavors!

  8. Oh, gosh, guys- loopy has been my go-to for quite a few years now. Rough times for me especially these last two years, and when I simply couldn’t deal with the fear and uncertainty of my husband’s health situation, I shopped in the wee hours of the morning, or better still, drove down to FC from Cheyenne to sooth my soul. You are so going to be missed. It’s very much like losing a best friend. We all have to move on in life, I know. But darn it!

  9. I’m sad to hear this. Loopy was also my first and always best shopping experience mostly online but my sisters and I also planned a vacation getaway to get to your shop and my sisters aren’t even knitters! I am going to miss you so much, but I’m happy you are able to move onto new experiences. Good luck to you all.

  10. I’m really going to miss you and the Loopy Ew, Sherri. You not only provided a great selection of yarns but outstanding service and personal assistance with colors and suggestions that few online shops do. While I’m very sad, I can only wish you the best.

  11. Sheri, I am so very sorry to hear your news. Flask back to 2006 when I discovered a wonderful new online yarn shop in St. Louis. You have always been the gold standard for customer service and superior products. My heart is heavy, but I wish you well in your future endeavors. No grass will grow under your feet!

  12. I was only there once, but for almost 3 hours!hours!! Was visiting from New Mexico. I got some great yarn and ides and used you to order yarn several times. Sorry to hear you’re closing. But good luck in your future endeavors

  13. I’m so sad to hear this news. You were my LYS for years, even though I live in South Dakota! I was able to attend your Fall Fling in 2014 and meet the amazing Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, and visit your shop for the first time. I came back twice more to the shop, and most of my considerable stash is from your store. I hope your future is sweet, and thank you for so many years of yarn shopping joy!

  14. I cannot tell you how sad I am to hear of Loopy closing. I still have my little Loopy close by, and remember how much fun I had with one of your sock clubs. Just recently I purchased shopping bags for Christmas and everyone loved them. You have been part of my yarn life for easily 15+ years. I’ll miss you.

  15. I will miss ordering from you and visiting whenever I travel between Georgia and Idaho. I have loved your store for years and am so grateful I attended a spring fling and met two of my favorite knitters—Stephanie Pearl-McPhee and Franklin Habit—in person. As a cross-stitcher, I will still be a customer but I will miss the choices, the expertise and the pattern ideas from Sheri and the elves.

    All the best to you.

  16. I’ve already commented, but I wanted to add a few things. I am an avid knitter and know my way around many a yarn store be it brick and mortar or virtual. Sheri, your online service is/has been superior to all. Orders have always come in an amazingly timely fashion. Included in those orders, a tasty tootsie roll pop or mini tootsies had me digging through the yarn before anything else. The personal thank you note from Sheri and those at Loopy always made an exciting package even more meaningful and special. Thank you so very much for treating me and all of your shoppers with the professionalism, kindness, and gratitude that came with every order.
