Touching Base (and Madelinetosh)

First – and most important – I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy. We are thinking about you all so much, during this crazy time.

We’re all doing well here. Sarah and Laurie and I are pulling orders (and my husband Paul helped with that today, too. He told me it was like the olden days when it was just the two of us doing all of the orders.)

We’re continuing all of the cleaning/sanitizing. We closed the shop to in-store customers last week, but have really enjoyed seeing so many of you from a safe distance as you do curbside pickups. (And I have really enjoyed facetime shopping with a lot of you, too!) We’ll continue to be here packing and shipping orders as long as we’re allowed.

We will also continue to connect with you on social media.

Did you catch my Facebook Live video last week? (You can access it here: Goldfish & Other Fun Project Ideas I shared some one and two skein project ideas, as well as talking about the Goldfish Memory Knit Along that we have going on. It’s just over 12 minutes long. I had planned to do Instagram Live today, but didn’t get to it. Maybe tomorrow!

Want to join the Goldfish Memory Knit Along?

Just get your yarn and jump in! There are no start and end dates – we’re all just having fun. You’ll need 3 skeins of fingering weight yarn (3 different colors, 400 yards each). You might try:

Dream in Color Smooshy with Cashmere
The Uncommon Thread Posh Fingering
The Uncommon Thread Everyday Singles

or any other fingering weight yarn, speckles or solids!

Monday Update:

Madelinetosh Vintage – We got out of Madelinetosh for awhile, but have decided to start adding it back in. We have Vintage for you today, which is a great sweater yarn. The twist is firm enough to make all of your cables and textured stitches pop.

Madelinetosh Vintage The Loopy Ewe

Sandnes Garn Peer Gynt – This DK weight is 100% Norwegian Wool and we carry all of the colors. Peer Gynt is the non-superwash version, and Sandnes Garn Smart is the superwash version. We have both for you.

Floops Stitchmarkers – Soft and flexible, easy to slide along your needles as you go, and of course fun colors. We have them in three sizes (Small, Medium, Large) and three colorings (Brilliant, Colorado, and Loopy).

Here are some Worsted and DK sweater patterns that have been on my own list: Knitted TeeChantilly LaceStillwaterSun RoseGoldwing, and Sunshine Coast.

And shawls in Worsted and DK: Mayhem ShawlVeranicoDragonstole, and Anisah.

Our last Yarn Update included:

Malabrigo RiosArroyoCaprinoSusurroDos Tierras, and Rasta, the Dream in Color Pop Up Skein for March 2020, our Loopy Groupie Karinkles Bag Tags, and Loopy Bento Bags for your yarn cakes.

We hope that knitting is bringing you a bit of stress relief and comfort during this time. I’m always grateful to have something on the needles, making loops with pretty colors. In addition to our Goldfish Memory Knit Along, we also have the Malabrigo Dos Tierras Odyssey Shawl Knit Along starting in April. We can also do a Sweater KAL if you’d like! Does it help to have knit alongs going on? We just want to be here to support you in any way that we can.

Sincerely,

Sheri and The Loopy Ewe Crew

  1. what is happening w/the pet yarn contest? Have any winners been chosen? That’s something that will lift all our spirits!

    1. Hi Kathy! I posted the last of the submissions two days ago and sent out the winner notifications that evening. We’ll get the inspiration photos by April 3rd and will have the beautiful new colorways in May!
