Happy Fall! The leaves are turning around here and the Aspens are golden up in the mountains. Still waiting for real crisp weather mornings, but I think that’s just around the corner. How about where you are?
When things start to get chilly, I start to think about warm knitwear – sweaters, cowls, hats, scarves – I can’t wait to get it all out and start bundling up! We just added in some perfect sweater yarn for you.
Spud and Chloe Sweater – One of the things I love about Sweater is the base composition. It’s 55% Superwash Merino and 45% Cotton. This has been my go-to yarn for baby blankets, but I’m about to knit a sweater out of it for the very same reasons. The addition of cotton in there makes it feel wonderful without adding too much heat to the equation! You will love knitting with this – whether for baby, kids, or adults. Pattern ideas: Shellseeker, Belvedere Cardigan, Stitch Block Cowl, Chevron Baby Blanket, Pine Forest Baby Blanket, and Golden Pear.
Spud and Chloe Outer – Another wonderful base mix with 65% Superwash Merino and 35% cotton, and since this is a Super Bulky yarn, it knits up really quickly. Try this for some of our holiday gifts – your friends and family will love them. Pattern ideas: Fibre Space Beanie Hat, GAP-tastic Cowl, Serendipity, Super Soft Merino Hats for Everyone, Cush, and Azel Pullover.
Blue Sky Fibers Worsted Cotton – Sensitive to wool? Then try Blue Sky Worsted Cotton. This worsted weight yarn is 100% cotton, knits up beautifully, and looks just as beautiful two or three years later. It’s a great basic yarn. Pattern ideas: Shale Baby Blanket, Simple Summer Tweed Top Down V-Neck, The Walt Painted Chevron Baby Blanket, Tiered Coat & Jacket, A Noble Cowl, and Granny Stripes.
Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok – Love wool and the warmth it brings to the table? Then try this worsted weight yarn. It’s 100% Fine Highland Wool. Pattern ideas: Stillwater, Range, Endless Wrap, Om Shawl, Humulus, and Tonka Bay Toque.

Spinning and weaving.
Besides knitting, my other crafty hobby is creating photo books through Shutterfly. I do have a sewing machine but don’t use it often.
I also enjoy quilting, although I haven’t been doing much if it in recent years. I can knit in the same room as my husband; with quilting I’m shut away in a room by myself. Not always a bad thing, but with busy days, it’s good to spend time together.
Ive probably tried them all at some point! But currently I spin, bake, zentangle, upcycle stuff, and am about to get into embroidery. Goal crafts include my little pony mods and pottery.
I just started to learn how to sew.
I recently started quilting and have two in the works and a few lined up afterwards. I also spin, and have much to learn about both quilting and spinning.
I admire lace items and have just started working more lace. I admire the Romance of Lace.

I do some sewing, jewelry making, and bead loom beading. I also make customized glitter tumblers for people.

Does photography count as a craft? That’s about the only other crafty thing I do regularly. 🙂 I used to draw a lot but then the knitting came into my life…
I love quilting and have a long-arm machine. Sometimes it’s difficult to decide which to work on.
You know, I don’t think I do anything besides knitting 🙁 I’d like to take up calligraphy, but my knitting to do list always feels too long to start. I guess baking might be my other “craft” – but I’d much rather be knitting. Love the knitting wizzardry – it’s been on my amazon wishlist. Love the new pins too – they are definitely going in my next order!
I do beading, embroidery, and sewing. I also dabble in dyeing, macrame, paper crafts, and polymer clay. I haven’t made soap yet, but I bought some supplies to try.
I like to spin and also crossstitch! I’m game to pretty much try anything. 🙂

I am a fairly monogamous knitter, however I occasionally crochet and I have a loom that I plan to start using soon.
