S’Mores Marshmallow Treats (Happy Camping!)

We’re halfway through the first month of Camp Loopy already. (And thinking of s’mores…) How are your projects coming along? I’m enjoying my June project. I made my first Shindig earlier this year and liked knitting it so much. So my choice for June Camp was another Shindig (favorite pattern this year) in Wollmeise Blend (favorite brand right now). This time I wanted to make a three color one. I love how it’s turning out. (It’s bright – how can you not be happy wearing that?)

Did you get your supplies picked for your July project? Remember, we’re in the middle of Camp Store Week (which means you can get a discount on the yarn or fabric for your July project between now and this coming Monday, June 18.) I have picked three or four different possibilities for myself. I need to decide. See the blog post for July challenge details.

We have a winner from our Blueberry Pie contest! Congratulations to Janet L from CO – the random picker picked your number and we’ve deposited a $25 Loopy credit to your account. I know you will find something fun to spend it on.

I have a Camp recipe for you today. It doesn’t mean you have to be camping to use it. I just always think of camping when I see anything having to do with S’mores. Yum.

S’Mores Marshmallow Treats

8 cups rice cereal
6 Tbl. butter
6 cups mini marshmallows
10 graham crackers
4 chocolate candy bars

Chop the graham crackers and the chocolate bars into bite-sized pieces.

Melt butter in a large pan, then add in 5 cups of the marshmallows. Stir until they are all melted.

Add cereal to a large bowl and pour the melted mixture over the top. Mix well. Add in the additional cup of (unmelted) marshmallows, chopped crackers and chopped chocolate.

Spread in a 9 x 13 pan and allow to cool.

Have a great weekend and if you’re working on your Camp projects and take photos for Instagram, be sure to tag us (#camploopy or #theloopyewe) – we’d love to see how your projects are coming along!
