Got stress? Try a New Project!

Do you ever get tech-ed out with phones, computers, iPads and Kindles? Sometimes they draw us away from the creating-with-our-hands types of projects that we all love to do. Knitting and crocheting are such wonderful, tactile activities, and of course there are multiple studies that have been done to show that it can help relieve stress in our lives. We come to you every week with new, colorful, beautiful options that have arrived at the shop, and I hope you’re enjoying picking a new project and then creating with them! Just up this week:

Malabrigo Rios There is nothing quite like the colors of Malabrigo. The colors weave in and out of the skein, whether it’s a multicolored skein or a semi-solid with undertones going on. And knitting it is just as much fun, seeing how one part of the color connects to the next one in your stitches. It’s just lovely. This worsted weight yarn is 100% Superwash Merino, and perfect for sweaters and vests, shawls and wraps, scarves and hats, and all of your gift knitting. :-)I’m not sure how the Elves found the space on the shelves, because we have received boxes and boxes of skeins in this order. It’s a good time to think about and plan for your fall sweater knitting. Pattern ideas: Purl Ridge Scarf, Pedestrian Crossing Cowl, Cozy Thermal Mitts, Mailin, and Hawser.

The Uncommon Thread
Luxury in a skein. No matter what base you’re getting, this yarn is luxurious in color and feel. It’s one of our go-to lines for anything we want to knit with texture and pretty stitches, because the semi-solid colors show them off so well. We have a regular order schedule with Ce so we can keep you well-stocked with this gorgeous yarn! We carry it in fingering (Everyday Singles and Posh Fingering), DK (Merino DK), and Worsted (Lush Worsted). Pattern Ideas: Lila, Stillwater, Bryum, Tilla, Starting Point, Kelias, Syrma, and Eole.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts Socks that Rock Heavyweight The yarn with the bouncy twist! (No, the skeins don’t bounce if you drop them. But they do squish amazingly well in your hands.) The multicolors are fun for scarves, hats and mittens, and the solids are beautiful for color combo patterns, colorwork and sweaters. Pattern ideas: Sunset Shawl, Brickless, Green Gable, Field of Wildflowers, and Erin’s Hat.

Our last Yarn Update included:
Blue Moon Socks that Rock Mediumweight, Knerd String Fingering, and Loopy Cakes.

Have fun shopping for a new project or two, and we’ll get your orders right out!
