We have winners from the Reader’s Choice Awards for Camp Loopy Project Two! In the yarn category, the Reader’s Choice award goes to Stephanie in Florida who made this stunning shawl called Vernal Equinox. (And she did it in 12 days!) We also drew three random winners, and those awards go to Victoria in New York for her Blue Serra, Branwynne from Colorado for her Branwynne’s Shawl, and Cindy from Pennsylvania for her Cindy’s Lattice Shawl. We’ve deposited a $25 Loopy Credit into your accounts, so have fun picking out something new!
In the fabric category, the Reader’s Choice award goes to Jane in Maryland who made this incredible quilt that she calls In the Nick of Time. (She says it grew to be queen-sized!) We also drew a random winner and that award goes to Leslie from California for her Batik Hearts Quilt. We have deposited $25 Loopy credits into your accounts, to put towards your next quilting inspirtion!
Now it’s time to vote for Project Three photos! Pop over and vote for either category (or both!). You’ll find the yarn projects here and the fabric projects here. Take a wander through all of those inspiring photos and projects, and let us know which gets your vote for the best! (email us your vote: firstname.lastname@example.org)
I did finish my Camp Loopy Project Three with a few days to spare. Luckily I had a lot of knitting time the weekend before it was due! This is Angelus and it might be my most favorite project ever. I love the cabled edging. (Click on the photos to make them bigger.) The edging did take longer than the body of the shawl, I think, but it was worth it! (If you look at the pattern, you’ll see I extended the vertical lines in the main body, all the way down. I liked the look better that way.) I did this in Blue Moon Socks that Rock Mediumweight, Jasper and Enchanted Forest. One skein of each. I had zero of the purple and 2 yards of the green left over. It was a nailbiter. I love this yarn. I will never get tired of knitting with it!
Now that Camp is over, our dyers are finishing up the special skeins of yarn for those of you who met all of the requirements for all three projects! (And we’re working on the fabric reward, too. That may take a tiny bit longer, but it’s in the works!) We will send emails out to those who have earned their bonuses, as soon as we have them in-house and are ready to ship them. We are SO proud of all of you who participated in Camp this summer. Whether you finished one project, or all three, it was fun to camp with you. We are already looking forward to next summer.
And now it’s on to Loopy Academy. I hope you’re joining in on the fun for that, too! The Elves have been busy packing up your “school supplies” and getting them shipped out.
