I hope all of you in the U.S. had a happy and safe holiday weekend! Are you ready for more pretty yarn this week? The Monday Yarn Update is ready for you. Just up, we added in:
Malabrigo Mecha – 100% Superwash Merino in a Bulky weight, with 130 yards to the skein. Fun for hats, cowls, mittens and toasty shawls. Need some new pattern ideas? How about the Alessa Hat, Big Herringbone Cowl, It’s a Wrap Hat, Chateau, Montgomery Fingerless Mitts, or Wombat Shaltuch Shawl. Shown below in Green Gray and Jupiter.
Malabrigo Rasta – 100% Wool in a Super Bulky weight, with 90 yards to the skein. Great for thick, warm scarves, hats, cowls and mittens. Here’s a fun, free cowl pattern, and I have made lots of pairs of these mittens out of a skein of Rasta. Cozy warm, which you will appreciate again, come Winter! Maybe make a set of the cowl and mitts and tuck them away for a Christmas or birthday gift. More ideas: Ovate, An Unoriginal Hat, Howling Winds Cowl, Rasta Basket, or Super Bulky Socks. Shown below in Zarzamora and Sunset.
Malabrigo Rios – 100% Superwash Merino in a Worsted weight, with 210 yards in the skein. Knitters love this yarn for sweaters and vests, since it is machine washable. Pattern ideas: Saroyan, Pedestrian Crossing Cowl, Ease, Ragtop, or Carabe. Shown below in Glazed Carrot and Playa.
Malabrigo Arroyo – 100% Superwash Merino in a Sport weight, with 335 yards in the skein. Another great yarn for knitting sweaters, vests, shawls and scarves, in a little lighter weight. A few pattern ideas: Even Flow, Shaelyn, Eagle Twist, Curiosity, Vitamin D, and Hermosa. Shown below in Aquas and Prussia Blue.
Manos del Uruguay Fino – a new addition to our lineup, this Fingering weight yarn is 70% extra fine merino (soft!) and 30% silk (luscious). Beautiful for shawls, as the silk gives it a little bit of extra sheen. Wondering what to make? How about: Fino Circle Scarf, Geology Shawl, Martine Hat, Churros, Cleome Shawl, and Ashburn. Shown below in Amethyst Earring and Garnet Brooch.
Hand Maiden Mini Maiden – a Fingering weight yarn in 50% Silk and 50% Wool, with great yardage (545 yards in the skein). Great for shawls, scarves and cowls. Especially nice for gift knitting, as it’s soft to the touch and beautiful when knit up. That is, if you can part with it. Pattern ideas: Kernel, Waves in the Square Shawl, Henslowe, Brandywine Shawl, and Window to My Soul Sweater. Shown below in Mint and Aurora.
Mrs. Crosby – re-stocks in Steamer Trunk, Satchel and Hat Box. We see how much fun you’ve been having with Mrs. Crosby, as we have shipped a lot of it out to you! If you haven’t tried it yet, get some now! Shown below in Hat Box Golden Butter and Icebox Watermelon.
The Calico Bush – new project bags from Holly in Wyoming! We have polka dots, trees and birds, foxes and owls, pink roses, blue daisies, and orange gerber-type daisies. Find a new favorite home for one of your new projects. Remember my motto – one can never have too many project bags. Shown below in Vintage Polka Dots and Red Bobbins and Bits.
Beadle Needles – a new way to easily add your beads to your projects. Load a bunch of beads up on the Beadle Needle and hook them right into your stitches as you knit along. One of our customers brought these to Knit Night and made us all realize we needed them. (Thanks, Layla!)
Have fun shopping through the new things and we’ll get your orders packed and shipped quickly, as usual!
