Happy Monday to you! We just added more beautiful yarn on the website for you today!
Huckleberry Knits Willow – we are happy to have Scarlet dyeing up her beautiful yarn for The Loopy Ewe again! (I first met Scarlet at Sock Summit a few years back. Someone was knitting up a sock in one of her most beautiful colors, and I hunted her down!) This first batch from Scarlet is on her Willow base. Willow is a fingering weight yarn that is 80% Bluefaced Leicester wool and 20% nylon, with 420 yards to the skein. If you haven’t tried BFL before, now is the time! Her colors are fun for socks, shawls, scarves, hats and mittens. (Shown here in Under the Sea and Mercado.)
Blue Sky Alpacas Multi Cotton, Worsted Cotton, and Alpaca Silk – all re-stocked.
Spud anc Chloe Fine – re-stocked in all colors.
Malabrigo Mecha – this bulky weight yarn is 100% Superwash Merino and comes 130 yards to the skein. It looks especially beautiful knit up in thick cowls, scarves, hats and sweaters. (Shown here in Hojas.)
Malabrigo Rios – this worsted weight yarn is 100% Superwash Merino and comes 210 yards to the skein. It has been particularly popular for warm sweaters and vests, hats, scarves, mittens and toasty shawls. Just be sure to alternate skeins, as is common when knitting with multiple skeins of any hand-dyed yarn. (Shown here in Jupiter.)
Malabrigo Arroyo – this sport weight yarn is 100% Superwash Merino and comes 335 yards to the skein. This base works well for sweaters and vests, as well as other winter wear. Again, alternating skeins on multiple-skein projects is always recommended. (Shown below in Candombe.)
Wooden Yarn Caddies – George has re-stocked all of the different woods in the small and large yarn caddies, and added Hickory Yarn Caddies as well. As always, each one has been handcrafted with meticulous care. The small caddies work well for lace and fingering weight yarn cakes, and the larger one works well with sport on up through bulky weights. (Shown here in the large sized walnut caddy.)
Have fun shopping the new things, and we’ll get your orders packed up and shipped right out!
Sheri and The Loopy Ewe Crew
When will you be having the shopping week for Camp Loopy Project #2? Inquiring minds want to know. Thanks!
Malabrigo Rios, it should be said, makes FABULOUS baby blankets!
Beautiful colors, and machine washable for busy young moms.
I also discovered Huckleberry Knits at the Sock Summit three years ago. I saw and talked with Scarlet again at Stitches West this past February. A nice lady with beautiful yarn!
Thanks for another Monday temptation update.
