Shalimar, Juliespins, String Theory Colorworks, and More!

Happy Monday! It has been a busy week here, getting all of these pretty colors photographed and ready for you for tonight’s Update. Just added, you’ll find:

Dopamine The Loopy EweString Theory Colorworks – a new indie dyer to us (not to be confused with String Theory Hand-Dyed, which is a different company!). Caitlin dyes her beautiful self-striping yarn in sunny New Mexico, and you are going to love her colors. We have her Continuum base, which is a fingering weight in 80% superwash merino, 10% cashmere and 10% nylon with 430 yards in the skein. Self-striping yarn is particularly fun for socks, gloves, mittens, cowls and hats. Some patterns to try: Sockhead Hat, Goldilocks Mittens, Plisse Socks, The Captain’s Steps Socks, On the Bias Fingerless Mitts, and Impunity. (Shown here in Dopamine.)

Iceberg The Loopy EweJuliespins Silky 435 – this fingering weight yarn is 50% superwash merino and 50% silk. I love using this yarn for shawls, scarves and cowls. It has a beautiful drape and sheen to it. And of course Julie’s colors are always amazing. 435 yards per skein. (We have a re-stock of beads up tonight – this yarn is a great one to add beads to.) Some patterns to try: Henslowe Shawl, Sarai Shawl, Miss Doolittle Scarf or Cowl, Natsu Scarf, Gwendoline Shawl, Geology Shawl, Stella Luna Shawl, Dateline Cowl, and Inkberry Shawl. (Shown here in Iceburg.)

Loden The Loopy EweShalimar Breathless DK – one of my favorite yarns in the heavier DK weight. The base is 75% superwash merino, 15% cashmere and 10% silk with 270 yards per skein. We also have a special free pattern offer with purchase. For the next month, we’ll be emailing you Paulina Popiolek’s new Sophie scarf which is crescent shaped and can be made in two different sizes (a 1-skein size and a 2-skein size). Leave us an order note if you’d like a free copy with your purchase of Shalimar DK. Some other patterns to try:  The Age of Brass and Steam Kerchief, Tuck Cowl, Whitman Hat, Sweet Memories Cowl, Atelier Sweater, Vodka Lemonade Sweater, and Troian Sweater. (Shown here in Loden.)

Peppermint Oatmeal The Loopy EweTwentyseven 27 Soap – a full restock of Keri’s soaps (made right here in Fort Collins, CO), with some of your favorite scents, a few new scents, and the scents that only come around during the fall and holiday season. Now’s the time to stock up. (Shown here in Peppermint & Oatmeal.)

Caravan Miyuki Beads – tubes and tubes of beads for adding to your scarves and shawl projects. The size 6/0 beads are perfect for fingering weight yarns and come with approximately 220 beads per tube. The 8/0 beads are perfect for lace weight yarns and come with approximately 400 beads per tube.

Needles – we’ve re-stocked the Addi’s and the ChiaoGoo’s, with Hiya’s and Knitter’s Pride re-stocks coming soon!

Have fun shopping and we’ll get your Boxes of Fun shipped right out to you!

  1. Sheri, I’d bought Continuum from another store several years ago in the Magnetic color way, which was wide stripes of red, white, and blue. Do you know if Caitlin will dye this colorway again? Thanks for checking!

  2. Sheri, is there a link to this:

” Paulina Popiolek’s new Sophie scarf which is crescent shaped and can be made in two different sizes”

I’ve done a search on Ravelry, but I may have missed it. I’d like to see it as I might like to put that in my que so I could use the Shalimar yarn, since I have not tried it yet.

  3. Darn it, I just made an order over the weekend and now I see these awesome soaps that would be perfect to go with my planned Christmas washcloths!

Oh well, guess I’ll just have to place another order!

  4. Hey Sheri – welcome home! 🙂 We’re all glad you’re back safe & sound.

The updates are lovely, as always.

I have to respond to Ana’s comment at 7:27am above – thank you for the great idea for christmas- I never know what to do for my mother or sister and that sounds like an awesome double whammy. 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration – and a thanks to Sheri too for carrying such lovely looking soap.

  5. Hi Sheri,

Tried to vote but that is over now – so hoping you made it to round 2. Please let us know.

  6. Luckily, Sophie showed up in my pattern highlights today on Ravelry — it’s a beautiful design and one of the few crescent shawls I’ve seen lately that is in st. stitch, rather than garter for the main body. I really like that!
