…. so many things! But I’ll give you the ones that (mostly) relate to The Loopy Ewe:
1. I’m thankful for all of YOU. We would have no business without you. You keep us on our toes, and you make stocking the shop fun. You’re at the top of our list and we’re always happy to have you here.
2. The indie dyers who trust us to represent and showcase their beautiful lines. Such talent in that group, and we’re grateful to share their art with you.
3. The “big” yarn companies who are so wonderful to work with. (Big is in quotes because even though they are big, most all of them work hard to be personal and friendly in all of their dealings.)
4. Coffee and chocolate. There might be a little stress going on with this cross-country December move of ours, and coffee and chocolate are helping. (I know that I should say knitting is helping, too, but my knitting time is going to be limited for a bit….). Coffee and chocolate are staples in our Loopy kitchen.
5. The St. Louis Loopy Elves. They’re forever a part of the Loopy family (meaning their impact here will last forever, but it also means that they get a Forever Loopy Employee Discount, and a forever free place to stay when they want to visit Colorado in the future. Also? A forever job if they realize that they’re tired of the St. Louis humidity next summer and want to move to the mountains. I keep hoping.).
6. The moving company that will be taking all of Loopy’s earthly possessions and driving it cross-country in a week or so. If you see a bright yellow Exodus moving van in Missouri/Kansas/Colorado the first weekend in December, you might want to ambush it and plunder the yarn. (On second thought, don’t plunder. Let’s make sure it arrives safe and sound in one piece.)
7. Your patience. I know you don’t like No-Update Mondays. I don’t either. But we are stockpiling a bunch of great yarn for our first post-move December update here in Colorado, on the 12th!
8. Stash enhancing. Ok – beyond the coffee and chocolate stress busters, I’m also picking yarn to add to my stash. I might not be able to knit for a bit, but I can still dream about future projects in wonderful colors. And I do have cases and cases of yarn sitting at my house, waiting for your next Monday Update. What’s a knitter to do?
9. The Colorado Loopy Elves. They know they have a lot to live up to (because they know you all love the St. Louis Elves) but they are ready for the challenge. I promise you, they are bringing their own kind of awesome to The Loopy Ewe. We wouldn’t have it any other way.
10. A long holiday weekend with my family. Nothing is as refreshing as spending time with the people I love the most. I hope you’re doing the same!
In honor of my Top Ten Gratitude List, we’re giving away 5 prizes. I’ve picked out 5 skeins from 5 different indie dyers and we’ll pick five winners. Will you be one? Leave a comment and let us know what you’re thankful for, even if you’re not celebrating an official Thanksgiving holiday this week! Prize winners will be announced on Friday’s blog (where we’ll have another Gratitude Week giveaway).
We have five winners of a copy of the Skinner Hat from Monday’s blog, and I’ve emailed the winners. Congratulations to Analiese in NY, Anna in WA, Lael in WI, Sarah in AL and Lisa in VA!
Sheri wishingthoseintheU.S.aHappyThanksgiving!
(P.S. So that the Loopy Elves can enjoy a long weekend with their own families, we won’t be shipping orders today, Thursday and Friday. You can still place orders 24/7, and we’ll ship them out on Monday and Tuesday of next week.)
Thankful that my family will be together tomorrow and that we all love each other so much.
I am grateful to my kids second family. They get Thanksgiving in the tradition of a large gathering while I work in the medical field with those who didn’t get to be at the family table due to illness or injury.
I’m thankful that my PD-afflicted husband is still able to exercise and walk and take gorgeous photos!
I am thankful for my dh who is cooking dinner this year and my daughters who are cleaning up so that I can finish the holiday knitting 🙂 Happy Holidays to everyone at Loopy Ewe.
I’m so very thankful for my kids and grandkids, they give me energy and so much love! And I’m thankful for my hubby who loves me but not my knitted socks!
I am thankful for the years of my life and what has been in it. I am thankful that my mum taught me to knit many years ago . I am thankful that I saw and acted upon a Loopy ewe ad.
I am thankful for my health and my family.
I am thankful for family, friends, beautiful yarn, intriguing patterns, and not being responsible for cooking the turkey this year. 🙂
I am thankful for my husband, good health and my puppy dogs. Thanksgiving will be just us and I plan on getting some knitting done.
As a single, childless woman who always longed to have kids of my own, I am grateful for my beautiful, wonderful nieces and nephews who have blessed my life in more ways than I can count. It’s been my pride and joy to watch them grow into fine teens and young adults that they are today. Melanie, Hayley, Steven and Alex <3
I am thankful for my family who is supporting my midlife career change and the fact they now are helping me accomplish my dreams and calling by attending seminary and being a pastor. I am also thankful for my stash (which is growing samller) that allows me to continue knitting when there are less funds for my pleasures.
I am very thankful for a loving God who embraces me and all that I am. He has gifted me with the most loving family and friends. Bets wishes to all knitters out there who can get in a few stitches tomorrow amid all the chaos !!!! I will miss my trips down to TLE to pick up a few more things I probably didn’t really need !! My very warmest wishes to a safe and successful relocation. I love Colorado. I lived there some 40 years ago and only once in a while get out there. In fact my husband proposed to me up in the mountains near Grand Junction. It truly is God’s Country.
I am thankful for a body strong enough to handle what I ask of it, family that supports my crazy dreams, and tantalizing yarn (though I have more yarn than I have time for!).
I wrote about the first part of my thankfulness today, on my blog:

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
I’m thankful for a sweet husband who is so supportive of me going back to school to study art.
I’m happy for the basics: family members who are healthy and employed.
I’m thankful for my family, our good health, and all of my friends–even those enablers who have caused my yarn and pattern stash to grow in leaps and bounds.
I am thankful for my daughter, my sisters, my brothers-in-law and my kitties. I’m thankful for knitting and all the wonderful friends that knitting has brought into my life. I’m thankful for the many people who have bought my bags and made my dream of a business a reality. And it’s snowing too! that makes it all pretty much perfect.
I’m thankful for the 3 F’s – faith, family, and friends! Also for a warm house and plans for a lovely dinner tomorrow (with family).
And, of course, for knitting and The Loopy Ewe!
Happy Thanksgiving to all – may the Great Pumpkin leave you lots of goodies!
I’m thankful for the beautiful place I live in wa state.
I am thankful for God’s provision especially during these difficult times.
I am thankful for my friends. I’ve been going through some tough times lately and they’ve been right there for me. Thank you, guys!
I am thankful for friends, family, and the time to spend with them.
I’m thankful for a roof over our heads, food supplies that are high, and my family. And yarn.
“I am thankful for turkey, and bunnies, and carrots.” Hope, 3.5 years. And, I am thankful for Hope and Frank.
My family is coming for Thanksgiving and I’m very thankful for that – not to mention the daughter who has started knitting and given us one more wonderful thing to share! I love the Holidays!
I’m thankful for my family and that in these tough times I have a job that I (mostly) enjoy and that pays me enough to have money for yarn!
I am thankful for my salvation and my family.
I’m thankful for the health of my family and friends. I’m thankful that I have a wonderful husband of 31 years and I’m thankful that I’m a knitter in a fabulous world-wide community. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone at the Loopy Ewe!!
I’m thankful for so many things, but right now it’s my family-of-choice, my nearest and dearest friends.
I am thankful for my husband, my family, all of my dear friends, and my awesome dog, Murphy. I hope everyone has a Happy (and healthy) Thanksgiving!
I am thankful for my family and my refound love for knitting. It has gotten me through some tough times in the last couple of years. Sherie, I’m glad I got to meet you once in St Louis and had the opportunity to shop and enjoy the gals at your store in MO. We will forever miss you. But I would move to CO in a heartbeat if I had the chance.
Thankful for my family and the fact that they are all coming to visit tomorrow and we will all be under one roof tomorrow night!
I’m thankful for my wonderful sweetheart, who makes my life so much more pleasant just by simply being there.
It doesn’t hurt that he’s obtained Loopy Groupie status by ordering stuff for me, either. 😉
I am also so very thankful that I was able to start working from home this year. More sanity and knitting time = priceless.
I’m thankful that my Mom at 84 is still with me (and hopefully will be for many more years). I’m thankful that I can give my two Shih Tzu furbabies a loving home after their horrible and abusive start in life (please adopt your next pet!). I’m thankful for my friends and extended family. I’m thankful for all my creative endeavors. I’m simply thankful for my life.
I am thankful to my mother who while she was alive taught me to knit, it helps keep me calm and there are a lot less bodies to dispose of as a result. 😉
I’m thankful for my home, my family, and our health!
I am thankful for everything in general, good husband, good friends, good dogs and a good life and the Loopy Ewe!!!!
I’m thankful for a loving family, grateful to be employed during these hard economic times, and glad I’m able to have a thanksgiving dinner filled with all the trimmings unlike so many other unfortunate and needy families out there, and glad I’m healthy enough to still enjoy it all. Boy, that’s alot of good things to be thankful for!
I am thankful to have overcome so many blips in my radar this year so I can celebrate Thanksgiving!
I am thankful for many things, but most especially to the men and women of our Armed Forces, who are out there paying the price for our freedom. While I grouse about how hard the Army is working me as a civilian, it does not compare to being in Afghanistan or Iraq with a 50-pound pack on my back, being shot at or blown up! Please keep these fine folks in your thoughts and prayers this Thanksgiving and every day!
For my dearest husband. A wonderful partner and an all around great guy (especially this week – bless his heart!). And for my sister who knows exactly how to run interference.
I am thankful for a 5-day weekend and a beautiful daughter to go Black Friday shopping with!
This year, I am particularly thankful for the health of my parents. I am thankful that we were able to travel early and have had a gorgeous late-fall week in WNY. And I’m grateful that this year, there is no crazy in-laws drama.
I am thankful for living in a country as amazing as Australia, i am thankful for my partner and i am thankful that some one discovered chocolate
For God’s grace and for all of the family He has sent my direction.
I am so very thankful for my husband, daughter and grandchildren. Oops, better include my son-in-law, without him I wouldn’t have these incredible grandchildren. I’m thankful for the rest of my family, my friends and my local yarn shop. I’m thankful for the 26 years of incredible teaching at an even more incredible school with an even more incredible staff.
P.S. I am thinking I might have to highjack that truck on my way to CO.
I am thankful for family, friends and good health for my loved ones and me.
I’m thankful for my family: my wonderful children and husband. I’m thankful that I have good health and that I can get outside and walk every day and enjoy the fresh air. I am thankful that I have a job and that I can afford to buy beautiful yarns to spend my free time knitting!!
I’m thankful for all of the little things and for those who share them with me! (I would also like to thank all sheep everywhere…thankyouthankyouthankyou!!)
I am thankful for my husband, my daughter and the good health that we three enjoy. I am also thankful for my extended family and my wonderful, fabulous friends. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Sheri!
