Bad News: I didn’t do any knitting this weekend. I drove up to Indiana for a wedding and had great hopes of knitting at one point or another and it just didn’t happen. I took three different projects with me. I suffer from the “what if I run out of knitting while I’m there?” syndrome. Obviously it wasn’t a problem this time.
Good News: It was a nice wedding and I got to see Knitting Daughter and Web Guy. In fact, I got to bring Web Guy home for a week!
Bad News: Loopy Photographer Sharon told me last week that I need a yarn intervention. That was after she walked into the photo room and saw the shelves and shelves of yarn that were new for this week.
Good News: Of course that’s good news for you! We have Spud & Chloe (Fine, Sweater and patterns), Blue Sky Alpacas (Worsted, Alpaca Silk, Skinny, Royal and patterns), Dream in Color Classy re-stocks, Dream in Color Starry re-stocks plus the new semi-solids, 3 AM Enchantments Petite KIP’s, regular KIP’s, and Deluxe Notion Bags, The Dyeing Arts Roving, Namaste re-stocks, Β and the amazing Sajou Scissor line.
Bad News: I may have taken a Petite KIP, a Deluxe Notions bag, a Starry Blue Sage, and way too many colors and skeins of Blue Sky and Spud & Chloe for my own self.
Good News: My love for alpaca and alpaca blends remains strong. I love it more than cashmere. Why haven’t I added in these lines before? They are amazing.
Bad News: That just “ups” the amount of stash I have and the number or projects that I want to knit.
Good News: A healthy stash + a long list of projects = just what I like.

Good News! My son took me out to lunch – then decided to go into a jewelry store. The clerk asked if she could help him and he said “I want to look at engagement rings” I was SO thrilled he wanted me there as he chose an engagement ring and wedding band for his sweetheart (who I JUST LOVE). He knew what he wanted because he knows what she wants. The look on his face was priceless as he looked at one ring and the next picturing them on her finger. To be there was priceless. Especially since my only daughter just ran away and eloped last year and “cheated” me out of a wedding for her. My son will propose this fall. Guess I should start knitting a pretty lace shawl for myself as it will be a fall wedding the following year. I love that he thought that much of me to let me in on that moment. And he has wonderful taste in rings but mostly even better taste in the woman he chose for his wife and my FUTURE DAUGHTER!
I’ll start with the bad news – I have cold/allergy issues at the moment and want them to go away, now
the good news: I’m getting on the plane to Spring Fling on Thursday (where I hear the pollen is just as bad, but who cares, I’ll be amongst friends π )
About three years ago I gave myself ‘permission’ to buy yarn just to own. π I may knit with it some day but for now it’s part of my collection. And that is ok.
Good news: We went to a lovely Ukranian Jewish wedding in Cincinnati and had a marvelous time.
Bad news: We left the reception at midnight and decided to drive home (2 hour drive). Got home at 2am. Were snarky, cranky braindead zombies all day Sunday.
Bad news: I spent two hours on the phone with tech support trying to get my router installed. One tech said he’d call me back but never did, and the other disconnected the call. The router is going back to the store.
Good news: I was really frazzled after all that, but once I sat down and started knitting – everything seemed better again. Knitting is a true stress reliever!
bad news: I can’t decide which projects to bring on my trip this weekend.
good news: I can start new ones since I’m coming to the Spring Fling
bad news: I may not get any sleep between now and Thursday
good news: being that hyped will make the drive fun, fun, fun
bad news: I have books on tape I haven’t had time to listen to
good news: I’ll have hours in the car to listen, listen, listen
I’M SO EXCITED!!!!!!
Good News: It seems to be the time for weddings. This past Saturday I was at my very first bachelorette party. Let me just say it was an experience, and one that I am glad to have been able to share with my friend. This coming Saturday is the wedding. I think I’m almost as excited as the bride! Of course, it probably doesn’t hurt that she’s the most amazing person I’ve ever met. I want to be her when I grow up. (She’s actually ten years younger than me. hehe)
More Good News: I can’t think of any bad news! Yay! π
I have parent-teacher conferences this week, but I don’t know yet if that will be good news or bad news!
I’m packing for a trip this weekend and have already picked out 5 projects to take…..I can’t decide….I also have the “what if I run out of knitting” fear………
LOL! Ask BFF Liz about my, “But what if I finish/run out?” phobia and how many projects I brought to Fling last year. π
Bad news: my thumb still hurts. Good news: The trip to the hand doctor is tomorrow morning, so I should at least be good for the weekend, though the jury is still out on surgery.
Bad news: I have absolutely NO focus whatsoever and can not accomplish what I need to at work because of it. Good news: I have set up a countdown clock, so I know exactly how much time I have to be scattered and try and focus before leaving for Spring Fling. (ETD: 10:00 am from BFF Liz’s.)
Bad news: I need a new bin to house the stash as I’m out of room in the existing bins. Good news: I’ve got some lovely projects in waiting, and should I ever need to absolutely NOT spend money for, oh, say, six years, I should be set for knitting. π
Good news I’m on vacation….bad news its over friday!!
Good news, the warmth. late in coming this year, has finally arrived.
Bad news, the heat is on and so is the A/C, $$$. π
Good news: my family is healthy.
Bad news: too cold for the chicks to go out to their (expensive) condo in the garage. I have 7 half-grown chickens in my dining room in a box/cage combo. I clean the whole thing twice a day.
Good news: They eat bugs like nobody’s business when they go outside for their sunning. And eggs to come.
Bad news: they are bantam chickens-the eggs will be very small.
Good news: My LYS hosted its knitting retreat over the weekend. 50 knitters attended, and had a great time! We had a contest with “challenge yarn” given to us at the retreat last October.
Bad news: There was a waiting list of people that wanted to attend that we couldn’t accommodate. π Also, I had a boo-boo on one finger that was trying to become infected so I didn’t knit as much as I wanted. I did do a great deal of photography for the event!
The bad: I didn’t get any knitting done this weekend (4-5 rounds on a sock really doesn’t count).
The good: I helped my husband and a friend put in a path in our backyard, so yeah yard work!
The best: I had a three day weekend, so while I am tired I’m not as badly off as I would have been doing the yard work and a 7 mile run in one day.
Bad news: I wasn’t able to sign up for Spring Fling this year. Knew I was getting a puppy so travel would be out.
Good news: Timber my Golden puppy is adorable.
More good news: It is only 11 days until Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival
Good news: I’ve found a couple of new networking directions to add to my job hunt.
Bad news: I’m still looking for work.
Good news: I’ve bought enough sock yarn from TLE to be able to knit through this job hunt.
Bad news: I’m not really sure there’s bad news about knitting from stash when the yarn is so great.
Good news: I really like how Traveling Woman is knitting up.
Good news: I really like how CTH yarn knits-up.
Good news: I’ve got my eyes on a pattern that would be great for some creatively dyed yarn that I just happen to have.
Bad news: I have just been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia.
Good news: I am going to Spring Fling!!! And I have found the best support system/friendships in the world right here!!!!! I couldn’t be more thankful!
My awesome parents are coming to visit my husband and I’s new house, which is good news, but this is the slowest week I’ve ever had, which is bad news. My new puppy was supposed to be born yesterday (good news), but the breeder miscounted and the puppies aren’t due til tomorrow (bad news.) It’s almost quittin’ time (good news), but it’s not quittin’ time yet (bad news).
LOVE the green dresses the girls wore for the wedding. Glad you had a good time.
Bad News: the doc says I have tendonitius in my left arm and no knitting for a month minimum.
Good News: I’ll have more time to pack up the apt. (moving back in with my parents for hubbys deployment)
Bad News: I spent a month’s worth of rent on my teeth today
good news:…..at least they are on the way to get fixed?
BAD NEWS: I only started knitting in December.
GOOD NEWS: I found the Loopy Ewe!
BAD NEWS: I didn’t know you held a Spring Fling!
GOOD NEWS: I am plotting and planning to see if I can leave my husband and twins to go to next year’s Spring Fling!!
OH! I didn’t mean leave them permanently!! π
BAD NEWS: I just recently found the Loopy Ewe and don’t know what this Spring Fling is that everyone is talking about. But it sounds like everyone sure is excited about it so it must be something special.
GOOD NEWS: I found the Loopy you and I became a Loopy Groupie this week and got some fantastic goodies with my order. Thank you Sheri and all the elves.
Sheri- Love the green dresses the girls had on. Glad you had a nice time at the wedding.
Bad: I live in an area with very few trees, I visited an area with lots of trees and I have not stopped sneezing even though I am back home with very few trees.
Good: I actually got to knit today. I even put yarn(s) up on my stash page on Rav that I got from TLE. Love, just love the Wollmeise. Hope to get more.
Back to sneezing and blowing and itching of eyes all due to the worst pollen outbreak in years. DARN!
You don’t mention your spinning but, if you’re still spinning, have you spun any alpaca? I love to spin it and am trying to find an alpaca fleece.
Awesome news: I get to see you and the elves in person TOMORROW
Good news: DD finally gets some income.
Bad news: take it to open an account at the bank, find that her SSN belongs to someone in Las Vegas!!! OMG, what next?
Good news: Got the back 40 done (mowing the yard).
Knitted one sock-started the 2nd one.
Bad news : allergy/sinus problems
Good/bad news: Seen too many yarns and patterns in the What’s New section….I just can’t
decide which ones.
