Laziness

DSC02816I never take vacations that last longer than a week. It seems weird to still be out here this week. Weird, but very very good. (You know, I could never do this without Susan and the Elves back at Loopy Central. They are The Best.) Today was all about the “be”. Or – is there something even less than “be” on the scale ofย  “be” and “do”? Because that would be me. I read a little, had some coffee, trolled around online, read a little more ….. laziness.ย  Finally, we took about a mile walk over to Starbucks and back, just to get the blood moving. No one in my family particularly likes having their photo taken for the blog, but I made them, today. Don’t they look nice and relaxed? WH just got here last night. The kids and I drove out earlier. I think WH needs some Elves at his work, so that he can get a little more time off. Now I have to figure out what to fix for dinner. According to my carefully designed menu list for the week, I think I was supposed to put something in the crockpot this morning. But in all of my lazy-stupor, I didn’t think about it.ย  Now I might be in trouble.

DSC02817In knitting news, I started a second sock out of the String Theory Bimini. You know what that means? I want to wear them on my feet this fall, not just have one on display at Loopy. I know that we have sold out of several colors already. We’ll have more as soon as possible. Right now they’re working on an order for me for The Sock Summit. (Who’s coming to that big event? We are looking forward to seeing you there!)

Sock Clubbers – it’s almost July, and you know what that means? Another Sock Club Kit coming out to you soon. Watch your emails for the invoice sometime later this week!

  1. Glad you are having so much fun. You certainly deserve it! Great family photo. We leave for NC tomorrow and I have the knitting packed. Supposed I should pack clothing too…means I have to go do laundry. Keep on be-ing and do-ing.

  2. Sheri,
How’s the yardage on the String Theory…are you able to get 2 socks out of one skein?

I made the peanut butter pie tonight and can’t wait to try it tomorrow!

Enjoy the rest of your vacation ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I learned a new word last week at a church women’s retreat– “multi-slack.” I believe that perhaps “multi-slack” is something even less than “be” on your scale. Hope your vacation is full of multi-slacking! ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I have enjoyed all your vacation blogs. I am looking forward to our vacation later in July. I am not so good at just “being”, but hopefully a little “doing”, and a little “being” in combination with knitting will be the right combination. I plan to work on the girasole. I love the Fiesta yarn, btw, and can’t wait to get going on it.

  5. Hey we were sitting in those chairs not too long ago….but Starbucks wasn’t open yet.
    Have fun!

  6. Glad you are having a fun, relaxing vacation! You deserve it! My vacation starts this afternoon. Wahoooooooo! NC here we come. We’ll be half doing, half being and lots of knitting! :0)

  7. Vacations are so good for refueling the system, aren’t they? It’s been awhile for us. You family looks very content and rested.

  8. Love all your vacation Blogs. Nice to see you are all relaxing in that wonderfully cool weather. I know you all work really hard to keep all us happy and in yarn.

I will be at the Sock Summit and was interested in what Loopy lovers were going to be there. I am saving all my yarn funds for the Sock Summit so I can touch the yarns and talk to you Sheri. Is anyone else from TLE going to be with you? Looking forward to my sock vacation.

  9. I am so glad that you are having a wonderful vacation. You more than deserve it. I am happy that you have blogged. I think everyone misses you when you don’t. Never get tired of what you have to say. Great picture of your family, so glad they can be there with you. Hugs

  10. I wanted to go to the Sock Summit, but I wasn’t willing to save all of my pennies and hover over the site on registration day. Hopefully everyone will have a ton of fun and I’ll get to live virtually from the photos of the hundreds of bloggers in attendance!

  11. Sheri, it sounds like you and the family are having a perfect vacation. Don’t cook. Order in. Or go out. You’re on VACATION. Being means no cooking. Doing is for cooking.

Get lots of knitting done. Susan and the elves are taking care of TLE. No worries. Enjoy : )

The peanut butter pie is amazing!!!!

  12. I will see you at the Sock Summit, I can’t wait!!!! Glad you’re enjoying your “be”-cation. ๐Ÿ™‚

  13. I really miss knitting socks. I’m still working on the same sock I was working at Fling. I’ve been knitting other projects and now have added weaving to my fiber repertoire. I’m loving the weaving. I think when I finish my Whispering Pine shawl I’ll finish the socks.

  14. I’ll be at Sock Summit! I’m already debating the “bring and extra suitcase, or use the UPS shipping station” question. Not that I need any more yarn….
