Hi there! I had a whirlwind weekend in California at the TNNA Market. (Wait until you hear about all the fun things I have on order for us! But more on that in Wednesday’s post.) Right now, I know you are anxious to hear about the 2008 Sock Club so that you can start signing up.
We have gone to an every other month system (so now you’ll get 5 packages from us this year, instead of 4). Thanks to all of you who asked us to do our mailings more often. š This year’s club will focus on some wonderful semi-solid variations because we have some dynamite pattern designers who are looking forward to coming up with interesting patterns for you! We will have patterns by: Wendy Johnson, Cookie A, Debbie O’Neil, Monica Jines, and Terry Ross. I won’t give you all of the yarn dyers, but they do include Wollmeise and sKNITches – so that’s a little tease for you! The cost is the same as last year – $33 per package, plus shipping. Your package will include the limited-edition yarn, the pattern done especially for us, and any other fun little thing we can find to include in there for you. (You know we have fun with those little extras!) We send you an invoice a couple of weeks before each shipment, so this is a “pay as you go”, but you are committing to the whole year of 5 shipments when you sign up. If you’re interested in signing up, we’re taking names today and tomorrow, and if we go over out limit, we’ll do a quick lottery drawing to fill in the spots. If you’re interested, please email: sockclub@theloopyewe.com. We’ll email you back on Wednesday or Thursday to let you know!
The other thing going on this week – a new Sneak Up! In this one you’ll find Wollmeise Sock yarn, Sheepaints, more Fiesta Boomerang, Alpaca With a Twist Fino (lace), Rio de la Plata (those are the socks in the photo I included – aren’t they awesome? Three ply sock yarn, different colors in each ply. Can you see it in the closeup?), Schaefer Heather, Tempted Roving, Prism Kid Slique (oh my it’s cool), Colinette Jitterbug, Dream in Color and Sakina Needles BFL Roving. More fun stuff for you – yay!
Ok – I’m off to try and address my email in-box (always the drawback of leaving town). I will check back in with you all on Wednesday with reports from TNNA! What did you all do while I was gone?
Sheri didn’tmanagetogetmuchknittingdonewhileIwasgone-toomuchelsegoingon š
WooHoo – sock club email sent!
Wollmeise, Wollmeise!!!
Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful time and I can’t wait to see all the new goodies you have in store for us. (Did you see my socks and the CTH booth?)
Your new sock looks fantastic and I love those colors
I am working on finishing up second socks to complete pairs. I am finding most of the singletons are plain vanilla socks. Maybe I should stop knitting those.
Like everyone else …. patiently, or not so patiently waiting for this weeks sneak up. I hope you and the elves are rested and ready : )
Glad to hear that you had a good trip & a successful time at TNNA. Guess I’d better make more room in the closet (for new yarn), especially if you’re adding more in the way of new lines! I brought *some* of my more recent acquisitions to SnB last week for “show & tell”; someone commented that I have the best sock yarn collection! š As always, I’m watching for the sneak-up! I sent an e-mail to sign up for the sock club. – Hoping I get in, but if not, I’ll console myself with my ever-increasing stash & the fact that I’ll be at the Spring Fling. Somehow, the stash keeps growing faster than I can knit it down! Finished one pair over the weekend for a friend’s b’day gift, & reached the 1/2- way point on the 1st sock of another pair (which had already been started). Must. Keep. Knitting!
Chocolate coma cookies??? Michele in Maine needs to share with all of us thru Loopy Ewe – perhaps the recipie could be added to all orders taken for this weeks sneak up? Glad your trip to TNNA was fun and successful. We await more information. Signed up for the sock club. I hope so much that I can be a part this year.
Julianne (who asked what PW and KW mean)…PW means “purlwise”; that means slip 1 stitch as if you were going to purl that stitch. KW means “knitwise”; slip 1 stitch as if you were going to knit that stitch.
Michele in Maine….I need me a chocolate coma!! Fess up that recipe!
Sheri…I’m glad you had a blast and that you traveled safely! I can’t wait to see all the new yarn you discovered!
As for what I did whilst you were gone, I made a pair of socks from the Misty Mountain Farm Jubilee (in Sandy Foam)!! I can’t wait to get more!! Gorgeous yarn!
What did I do this weekend…clean! Clean, knit, clean, knit, clean….knit!
Whew….
Just curious…what pattern did you use for your socks?
I am just hanging around waiting for the latest Sneak up….and…..praying that I get a chance to join your Sock Club!!!
Oh what fun to go to the TNNA! Good for you.
What did I do? I had startitis. I started a pair of gloves, a scarf, a sweater, 3 pairs of socks and Christmas ornament ball covers from left over sock yarns. I am man/toddler sitting the disabled but stubborn husband and running him to his many dr and therapy appts. see why I have startitis? It’s the only thing that helps me keep my sanity around here…………..LOL
While I’m on a yarn diet until the DH returns to work, I do have a little sock yarn money set aside and I’m hoping for a skein of Wollmeise. I must see what all the fuss is about š
I’m so disappointed I didn’t run into you at TNNA. It would be so nice to meet the woman who “feeds” my sock yarn addiction. Did you see the Chameleon Colorworks booth? That sock yarn was amazing! I sure hope you start carrying it.
I had a chance today for a RAK..in my work parking lot one of the girls had her car door shut, locked & engine running after working the noc shift. So I called the Roadcare & had them come out & unlock her door…Glad you had a fun time in our California. Looking forward to see all the goodies you have for us…I love my DIC in lunar zazzle!!! Thanks again
Well, the Wollmeise has come and gone without me! I sure hope that I get in the sock club!!
An hour and 20 minutes after the Sneak-Up and the Wollmeise is gone! Darn. Guess I’ll have to wait and see if I get in the sock club to get any Wollmeise.
I can’t believe how hard it was to get the Wollmeise! If I had waited five more minutes, I would’ve missed out completely. Phew!
So – when’s the next shipment?
Darn! I missed the Wollmeise. I knew I should have stayed home last night and stalked TLE. I consoled myself with some Rio de la Plata, Fiesta and Dream in Color so I think I’ll be OK. Can you tell me what colorway you used for your Rio de la Plata socks? I’m hoping I picked the same colorway. They’re gorgeous!
Your socks are gorgeous Sheri! I started working on some socks from the book 2-on-1 Circ in a yummy blue Shibui I had already split up, so am enjoying the process of both at same time š
Glad to hear that you had a good time in California and can’t wait to hear what new goodies are coming our way! And thanks to you posting a picture of your socks, I was inspired to order some Rio de la Plata. (By the way, was there ever any Wollmeise? By the time I discovered the sneak up, it had evaporated!) We had a house guest over the weekend so not much knitting went on, but I’m hoping to make up for that during the week.
There was no Wollmeise within 15 mins. and the traffic on the site made it so slow that I gave up on ordering anything. It was like getting Springsteen tickets for a 250-seat venue, man. š
Ah, well. I’m holding out for Duets, anyway. (So she says now…but perhaps there is some of that Schafer left….)
Sheri,
I bought some Rio de la Plata this week from you. Would you please tell me what pattern (or stitch pattern) you used to knit your socks? I really like them. By the way, your customer service can’t be beat – my yarn came so fast and I appreciate the email telling me when it was shipped.
