The movers are busily moving all of our yarn and shelves to the new Loopy home today. We spent the weekend packing up the yarn and trying to move around all of the boxes and bags that kept accumulating in the dining room, hallway, and basement. I think the whole house will give a sigh of relief when the new place has taken all of this in! Here is a picture of where we’re going. Never fear, we will soon have the whole doggone place turned “Loopy” by the end of the week. Right now it just looks boring. In typical moving-day-Murphy’s-Law, it’s supposed to rain all day. So far, so good, but it’s getting cloudy. Good thing the yarn is bagged and protected.
In order to make my week a bit more complicated (and I seem to be good at that), we got a new kitten over the weekend. (Honestly, WH looked at me as if I might have lost a few marbles when I talked to him about it. Why would I do that during a week that is sure to be our most packed and overwhelming week in a long time? Um …. because we took one look at her and fell in love with her? Because I want Zoe to have a buddy to hang around with, now that I’ll be gone during the day? Because we needed a second cat? Because I like to stir things up? I can come up with a whole list of reasons. He knows this about me. He gave up and said yes.) So here she is – sweet little Gracie. Is she not just the cutest thing? She is soft and fluffy and extremely affectionate. She’s residing in the guest room until it’s time for her to meet Zoe. However, they have been playing “pawsie” under the door and meowing at each other, so I think it will go well. When you see a photo of the two of them together in the blog, you will know we have succeeded. π
Onward with the move. I hope you all have a great week!

Oh, I SO wish I was there!!! I can’t wait to see the new room all Loopy!! It will be a great place! I LOVE little Gracie. I am proud of your skills of rationalizing your decision. You remind me of someone….
Gracie is so cute! Good luck with the move!
Welcome to the “madness” that is The Loopy Ewe Gracie!
Get those movers moving! I need to order some yarn!
Good Luck!
New kitty is so cute! Squee! π Good luck with the moving – can’t wait to see what the new place looks like once it’s been properly Loopified.
Aww, Gracie is just so adorable!! I bet Zoe can’t wait to meet her and hopefully they will become fast friends. : ) And, there looks like pleny of room in the new Loopy room – can’t wait to see how it fills up with all that yarny goodness. Hope the week of moving goes smoothly for you. : )
Gracie is so cute! I hope that she and Zoe become fast friends!
Best of luck with the movie!!
Err, the MOVE, I mean. =)
Awww. All kitties need a playmate whether they know it or not!
Aww, Gracie is a cutie!
A new Loopy, a new Gracie – you are a very busy mummy. I am sure the girls will be sisters before you know it, there’s nothing quite like finding that new best friend you’ve waited all your life for.
I know the move will be smooth!!
Cute kitty! We have three, it’s a blast. Mostly.
Good luck with your move!
She is so sweet looking! I bet they will be okay aftter they meet. It’s nice that they are already sort of playing. Good luck with the rest of the move.
The guest room stay is certainly the recommended way to introduce a new cat to a household. It’s very good that Gracie is ON the bed, not UNDER the bed hiding. She’s transitioning well!
Congratulations, new Meowmy!
Zoe needed a new friend I’m sure and Gracie is a doll!
It’s a good thing you decided to move into that space- it NEEDS a little loopy-ness. too bad about the rain. I’ve never moved on a day when it isn’t raining, one of those fabulous moving things I suppose. If it’s raining it’s bound to be cold and I’m sure you need a latte…
There’s nothing as much fun as doing everything at once! It keeps you young. New digs, new kitten – an exciting time for you all.
Summit County, Colorado received 12″ of snow yesterday! Good thing your trip was earlier!
Received my yarn from TLE on Sat. Scarlett Fleece Lapis Woodland colorway-even more lovely than the photo. Can’t wait to wind it up and start knittin’! Good luck on the move and those kitties will be fine.
LOVE the name Gracie. She’s very cute. Can’t wait to hear the story of how you came to find her. Good luck with the move!
Precious, just precious! If Gracie allows it, please rub noses with her for me. If not, express our delight in the manner she appreciates most. Her eyes remind me of the grand old gal that taught my Jack Russell to play gently!
Oh, Sheri, now just wouldn’t I do something like that. Yes, at the most in appropriate time. That is me full force. I’ m sure Zoe and Gracie will become fast friends. I have 5 cats. DH flipped out as each one came through the door. However, they are his best friends now. Good luck with the move. It will be so fun to go home to the kitties. Hugs
Welcome to little Gracie! She is adorable. Hopefully Zoe will love hew new pal!
Hope the move goes very well. I just can’t wait to see that whole room filled with Loopyness!
So much room for yarn, how wonderful π Hoep the move is smooth and painless!
Yeah, a new kitty! Mr. Bailey and Chester sends their kitty love, and hope she has a good time living in the Loopy household. They both think that she is quite attractive..MEOW!
I like that you took a “before” photo, and can’t wait to see the “after”. I hope the weather hold out for you. Tell the rain to bypass Missouri and come straight to Indiana. We really need it. Keep fingers crossed for a relatively stressless move!
Your new Loopy Room looks so big and wonderful. I too am glad you took the before picture so we can all get an idea of your new office. Gracie is soooooo cute! I am a cat lover…we have 3. We have Indiana (Indy), Caroline and Harry-O (after the TV show) and would have more if we didn’t have 2 dogs. Have a great week. Kristi
It makes complete sense to me that in the middle of moving a business you’d get a kitten. This is totally something I would do, only it’d be a puppy. She’s very lovely!
Love the new meow-girl. good luck with the move.
Welcome to the Loopy fold, Gracie!! She may not know it yet, but she’s a lucky kitty girl!
Congrats!
What a lucky lady you are – New Loopy headquarters and a new kitty to boot…all in one week! Gracie is a doll, and I know Zoe will love her dearly once they get to meet each other in person…girl cats are easier than boys, I think. Have fun arranging the new Loopy room just how you want it, and I will keep my fingers crossed that the rain goes easy on you! Can’t wait to see pictures of the finished product!
Hope the rain holds off until you get the yarn into the new building.
Gracie is so pretty. I keep telling my allergic kids that when they are all out on their own I will be getting a cat. That won’t be for quite awile , and that is fine with me.
I think it is time for your daily latte : )
Gracie is absolutely adorable!
I hope your weather is only as bad as ours, it is cloudy and wet, but somehow not really raining – here’s hoping the sun will come out.
Heddo, Gracie. Izzn’t she a tweet widdle puddy-tat? Yes she izz!
*sends long-distance ear-scritches*
(Yes, Zoe, we love you too.)
Gracie is a cutie. :>) I woudl like another kitty for my kitties playmate too. May do that one of these days.
Happy Moving Week! Remember to not stress out.
If it’s any consolation, you’re less crazy than me… I adopted 8 week old manxkitten Picasso one week before a cross country move because I met him by accident during a catchenal-supplies-getting trip at a pet supplies store and started crying when this wee kitten licked my face.
So. You know? I grok it.
Yay for the loopy store!!!! It’ll be looking like itself right soon, I’m certain.
Awww she’s so cute! I want a new kitten too, but we are waiting until the kiddos are just a bit older and will be nice.
Can’t wait to see the new set up. It looks huge!
Welcome to Loopyland little Gracie!! she’s quite adorable! I hope the move and the rest of the week unpacking and putting up go well for you, Sheri!
Gracie is a perfect idea to keep Zoe happy and busy now that you won’t be available 24/7. Yay for you and Zoe too!
Virginia
Gracie is soooo pretty! And I say bring them to the new office. So one would even know. π
Gracie looks lovely. I can totally understand why you just had to give her a home.
Hope the move goes well-I’m sure you will have that boring room full of life and colour in no time
Don’t forget the lattes
Fiona
Gracie is so cute!!! I think it is a great idea. Zoe won’t be lonely that way. Hope the move goes well and without any mishaps. π
Welcome Gracie. And big purry hellos from your Florida friends Lily, Belle, and our latest addition, Sophie. Everyone needs friends! Congrats to Zoe on her new pal. I’m sure they’ll get along splendidly.
What a great space you’re moving into Sheri. The pic of it empty gave all of us a chance to mentally fill it up with our “dream yarns.” Walls full of yummy yarns…what a nice daydream for a Monday! Moving is such a fun adventure…a chore, I know…but so exciting. Enjoy!
The new space looks so ….. spacious! Can’t wait to see the transformation.
I hope that “pawsie” and meowing is a good sign that Gracie and Zoe will be friends. Ya never know how new kittie integration will go until it’s going. But it’s really sweet of you to think that Zoe will need company with your being gone. My newest feline was acquired as a companion for my next youngest when her buddy, my then oldest, passed away. It has worked out well, and you have my best wishes on your girls becoming bosom buddies, too.
What beautiful space, Sheri. Nice and bright and open! Can’t wait to see it filled with yarn and shipping materials.
Congratulations on the new addition to your family! Currently I have 8 dogs (yes, that’s right, EIGHT DOGS!), 4 cats and a lizard (thanks to my dear college daughter). 5 of the dogs are just in my care. I’m fostering a mom and 5 puppies (3 weeks old last friday) through our local animal shelter. They’re the product of a puppy mill seizure and are shih tzu pups. Wicked CUTE! cats are like potato chips…you can’t have just one.
Best wishes on the move and on your new addition. We have 7 cats and they play nicely ( most of the time) Pawsie is a good sign. Ever wonder why cats can’t be convinced that there is no secret exit to the bathroom and torment you with pawsie while you’re in there?
Have a great move, Sheri!
Sounds like Gracie and Zoe are ready to meet! I’ve always had more than one cat at a time too–it’s great for them to have company during the day and it definitely relieves my guilt when I head out the door for work in the morning.
I’ll bet that room looks a LOT smaller when you get all the yarn in there π
Aw, Gracie is so sweet!! I had an only cat for 19 years, and now I have a mom and daughter–they’re just the bestest friends, and I feel fine leaving them alone because I know they have each other to play with.
I always think the unpacking is better than the packing…seems to go faster for some reason. But YMMV.
Hope everything is going smoothly!!! Can’t wait to see the new Loopy!
Congratulations on your new family member. Gracie is beautiful. How old is she? Where did you find her? Of course you couldn’t let something like a move get in the way of adopting such a precious kitten.
Hope the move is going well today. Perhaps the room looks a little less empty by now!
Gracie is so cute! I’m sure the two of them will get along great. I’ve heard that cats are happier when there are at least two of them in the house.
Good luck with the move! Hope everything goes smoothly.
Awe! I love that you’re never too busy to welcome a new family member!
oh, Sheri. I see why you fell in love with her! I love her name, too. You have such great taste in names….Grace is the name of one of our twin daughters π
Can’t wait to see the transformation of the New Loopy Room. I’m sure that will give you a lot more space for your family….er, I mean personal yarn stash. Happy moving!
i think gracie is just beautiful. as i looked at her, i was thinking her markings are similar to zoe, just different colors. i think they look like sisters with one taking after dad and one after mom. you are such a good mom to think of zoe needing some company! i hope she takes to her new sister right away. your new yarn space looks so big. can hardly wait to see more photos as it gets all set up. hope all of your moving goes well for you all.
Gracie is a sweety and her and Zoe will be buds!! First hint they are not snarling at each other under the door. I know you will be happy when this week is over. Hugs to you all for all the great work!!!!
